Namibia. I miss namibia. I go habitat in the erongo region and have travelled across the country a few times. My heart melts whenever i see hear or watch namibia. Thank you. Hopefully ì would be spending my first xmas in namibia. Touch wood.
Thank you Darrin!! As it happened to you in 2020, we were lucky to witness this live, insane and grateful to have experienced it and also captured it. 🤗
Not sure if you realise how lucky you were with the rain but in many trps to Kaokoland I have never experienced so much water. Its a true blessing- And a really good video for those of us who have been there or live here. AWESOME.
We do! We were really shocked when we arrived in the valley. The sky was blue all the way from Etosha to Opuwo. You could see how long it had been dry! Btw others would tell you we were the opposite of lucky, but we agree with you, for us we were at the right place at the right time. 😅😱
Incredible episode. Namibia looks like an incredible place for overlanding. Bluelandy really got a workout crossing all those rivers and dealing with the mud! Good thing you have a Land Rover!
Namibia is a paradise! And if you come in the wet season, you have a chance if seeing Etosha green and rain in the desert like we had! The bluelandy had a serious workout with all that drifting! So happy to have a Landy, yeah 💪💪💪
It was indeed nerve wracking. We wanted to show our view and the whole unfolding of the flashflood as raw as possible. Glad you enjoyed the ride! Thanks for commenting 🥰
It would be a pity not to fly it in such an event. The views from the air always give you a better understanding of the situation, specially in Namibia, where everything is massive!!😅
Thank you again! We had a blast even if it was tricky and nerve wracking. Sounds contradictory, but it's the best way to describe it. You need to see this place LIVE!!

Awesome video again you two . Loved all the colors of the evening skyline . And what a spectacular over landing destination . Thanks again for sharing your wonderful journey with us your over landing friends . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :) :) 🌍🍻😁👍🏼
Hey Steve, the colors where mind-blowing. We took many pictures and could not believe how beautiful they turnout to be . Kaokoland, it's one of those places, one needs to visit at least once in a lifetime, if not once a year 😂😜
you are fortunate to see Kaoko like this with rain, I have only seen it dry, would love to be there when the rian comes. Looks like fun! I think i saw you guys a few days ago, we were on our way back fron Tanz to SA, Cheers!
Yeah! it was unexpected, and we think we were just lucky. I would say to everybody to try to go there in the wet season. It is breathtaking. I think is not possible you saw us, (spoiler alert) the bluelandy is on a ship in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean! or let me say, hopefully you didnt see the landy, that would be really concerning. Have a nice trip!!
Thank you so much!! Namibia is one of our favorite countries ❤️ from Namibia to South Africa, until Jbay and then to South America. Check the channel for more!
Wow so extraordinary. It appears to be sooo remote. Just wondered if the Blue Landy has a winch for extracting you from obstacles? Also seems you are getting very economical fuel consumption? Great work and beautiful videography…(-;
It is really remote, and it is and we say in the title, wild. It is one of the last really untouched places on this planet. The only traces you find from humans are corrugations. No winch, we decided against it (too heavy and too expensive). We have driven 50.000 km, and we always were able to get ourselves out of travel with the rest of our recovery gear and most iof the time winch would not have helped, as in these slippery paths or in deep sand in Saudi Arabia. Our consumption is really good, we average at the moment 10L/100km. Thank you for your comment and support!
It is nice to see you finally met Bear (not sure about Grizzly) and Frenchie. Was always hoping you guys will meet. If you go to South America I hope you meet Next Meridian too :) - have a great trip ahead (if even in a TD5) ;)
Hey Thomas, yeah it und as great to meet Steffi and Bear, sadly we missed Leigh. We’ll see what happens, first the car needs to arrive we’re already having 2 weeks delay and the container is not even on the boat
Where are you shipping to? Container delays are common. We had an unplanned 4 weeks in Cape Town waiting for our contaner to arrive from Europe. It made a big hole in our trip.
Hahahah. Yeah, we believe ourselves lucky, as a flashflood is not something one gets to experience everyday. Also lucky to be able to get out and see the beauty of it all, without major issues!
I warned you .. .. .. .. Namibia is very different and it will get hold of you and just never let go. Just go, I know you will love it there - wait till you get to the Namib !! Watched GrizzlyNBear's latest video and guess who they bumped into in Cape Town ? Glad you guys met. Keep well and go slow !
Henry, you are soooooo right. Namibia holds you forever, it is just incredible and everytime you think you have seen enough, it surprises you with a gem. It is and always be one of our favorite countries for many reasons. Episodes coming up!
Lovely video once again you are very brave, you have to be,myself I would have had to have a winch, fitted just for peace of mind, thanks for sharing, from Steve near Chester England 🏴 where the Roman's once lived.
Unfortunately a winch is more of a jungle tool and in the situations they found themselves it might not have helped. On the other hand I do live on the Western Coast of Southern Africa that is almost the same as Namibia and have a winch fitted.
In that situation, you cannot stop, need to keep on going to get out of trouble! The best would be to go in convoy, but we normally travel alone, so we need to be careful 😉
Den ganzen Tag so durch's Gelände fahren zu müssen muss unglaublich anstrengend sein. Danach schläft man Nachts bestimmt ziemlich gut. Es waren ganz tolle Aufnahmen von der ganzen Landschaft, egal ob am Boden oder aus der Luft !
Thanks for the hint! I believe there are two options on this topic. There is the theory to not move the searing wheel to not ask more from the already struggling tires. And on the other hand there is the theory that you should move it to allow to search for grip…. I guess both technics do not work in all situations but in others they do. So you gotta try what works when.
There was actually one ostrich running, didnt capture it. But everywhere in Kaokoland one can find wildlife, check the next episode (EP55), where we camp next top giraffes :)
That's why we checked all the rivers before crossing. Getting stuck in one of those is a Game Over situation.😱 The flashflood in the valley was okay as we were only sliding but not really getting stuck. But yeah it could turn ugly pretty quickly 😵
Relatively high, at least in the Frist (muddy parts). I dropped it a bit as we went to the gravel but the mud came out of nowhere. We were probably at 2-2,5 bar
@@Thebluelandy Wow, pretty high. I normally run 1.0 / 1.2 in those conditions, similar to sand driving. At least you had the option to deflate if you had been stuck.. Safe driving.. 👍🇦🇺
Hey! because we didn't reduce the tyre pressure enough and the place was super slippery. With lower pressure or mud terrains it would have been easier!
River crossing during the rainy saeson in Namibia is all the time a problem, especially when you are alone. When was it? We enjoyed a green Namibia, also in a Landrover, in 2022: ruclips.net/p/PLcFlXvdfVd6hT_cyXy1Oq3X-PbqS_SrWE
Hey Luke, as you can see in the end of episode 53, I did drop the tire pressure, as we always do on gravel. Yeah we could have stopped in the middle of the muddy plain and dropped the pressure even further. But our priority was to get out and to higher an dry ground before we waste more time. We didn’t know if there was more water coming. We were never really stuck in this situation, therefore the pressure was not an issue, trust me I drove this car with this tires in a lot of situations. And if they are clocked up with mud they get slippery no matter the pressure.
They were, indeed! we did put them a bit down once we left tarmac, but not enough for these conditions! this and how slippery this place gets with water, was the reason for the extreme drifting session
@@Thebluelandy - I was wondering but you guys were giving me heart palpitations given you had no support vehicles and I was wondering just how bad the flash flood was going to get. Great video and I’d love to visit Namibia. 💪❤️
