As a survivor of over 10 years of dealing with DV I never told my family, called the cops or told co-workers however they were all aware and we moved across the country and it got worse. After years and years of abuse I won’t lie as he laid in bed asleep and drunk I stood in my kitchen across the room from the bedroom and grabbed a knife and was gonna kill him, I truly couldn’t take it after 10 minutes I put the knife down and went to sleep. He was arrested once because a cop seen us fist fighting after many years of abuse I started to fight back and of course I had the charges dropped, went to see him in jail and went back to him. This is what a victim goes through and you feel stuck. I believe in this case it sounds like both were victims, however I’m sure she argued with him because he was gone for so long. If she had no marks on her then clearly she was the aggressor and let her anger take over like a idiot. Two days before she did call the cops to have him removed so that might help her. She most definitely will do time, if proven she was abused throughout the relationship she won’t do life she will probably do max 15 years. Since my abuse which I went on to marry this idiot and dealt with it for many years. I WOULD NEVER EVER TOLERATE THAT AGAIN AND NEVER HAVE SINCE. Domestic Violence against MEN is real! I have a male friend who is a really nice guy and his ex was verbally and emotionally abusive towards him. She used their children as pawns, because they were in her custody in the Caribbean. I remember reading the letters from her and they were very brutal. Yes, society needs to see that domestic violence works both ways. Enough is NOT done in terms of laws, policies, etc. for DV victims--perhaps, as more MEN come out about it, then maybe MORE attention will be made. Pictures , audio, video and journaling…..may help…..but a temporary separation is important (even if things get worked out). Restraining orders are important. . Domestic violence (particularly if the female is powerful) can turn into a savage mind game of he said / she said. So…as creepy and scary as it sounds…..proof is important. However…….getting out is recommended, and can save your life. . Fear of abandonment, aversion to rejection, childhood trauma, hormonal imbalances, drug abuse, psychological disorders , side effects of psychotropic meds…….all of these and many more unmentioned……..can AND HAVE lead to homicide….sometimes homicide/suicide. . Someone needs to know. These are not the type of secrets to keep.

As a survivor of over 10 years of dealing with DV I never told my family, called the cops or told co-workers however they were all aware and we moved across the country and it got worse. After years and years of abuse I won’t lie as he laid in bed asleep and drunk I stood in my kitchen across the room from the bedroom and grabbed a knife and was gonna kill him, I truly couldn’t take it after 10 minutes I put the knife down and went to sleep. He was arrested once because a cop seen us fist fighting after many years of abuse I started to fight back and of course I had the charges dropped, went to see him in jail and went back to him. This is what a victim goes through and you feel stuck. I believe in this case it sounds like both were victims, however I’m sure she argued with him because he was gone for so long. If she had no marks on her then clearly she was the aggressor and let her anger take over like a idiot. Two days before she did call the cops to have him removed so that might help her. She most definitely will do time, if proven she was abused throughout the relationship she won’t do life she will probably do max 15 years. Since my abuse which I went on to marry this idiot and dealt with it for many years. I WOULD NEVER EVER TOLERATE THAT AGAIN AND NEVER HAVE SINCE. THIS IS TRAGIC ON BOTH SIDES BOTTOMLINE ANYTIME YOUR HIT YOU NEED TO REPORT IT SO WHEN THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPEN YOU HAVE A RECORD. Now he's not the first and won't be the last guy who hesitates to contact police when a situation is getting out of control (and what a shame, for how much violence could be prevented if both sides felt fairly judged in the eyes of the law) for the simple fact that the DV SYSTEM, the DV RACKET, is one hundred percent stacked against him and this means NOT that any woman or every WOULD use the system against her male partner, but that any woman COULD use it against him.
You don't seem to appreciate that every woman in every western country holds a ideological gun in her relationship which she can fire upon a man for the most ridiculous or unsubstantiated reason. A weapon she can discharge at any moment, and thereby use the legal system to kidnap, incarcerate, pilfer for money or property, sue, or just legally destroy any man she has a relationship with, and even those she doesn't (see the man arrested and prosecuted for an alleged incident on the tube whereby he was accused of fondling a women even with video evidence they passed one another in 2 seconds and no contact occurred. You know, when we talk about how unfair the legal system is to women in countries like Saudi Arabia, nobody seems to appreciate that the exact same thing happens here in western countries and yet we call it "equality", even tho it is anything but. Domestic Violence against MEN is real! I have a male friend who is a really nice guy and his ex was verbally and emotionally abusive towards him. She used their children as pawns, because they were in her custody in the Caribbean. I remember reading the letters from her and they were very brutal. Yes, society needs to see that domestic violence works both ways. Enough is NOT done in terms of laws, policies, etc. for DV victims--perhaps, as more MEN come out about it, then maybe MORE attention will be made. Christian showed restraints as she was attacking him in the elevator, it could have gone another way, but he did not hit her back. This is very tragic!

Question: If it was in fact self-defense, why would the individual leave town and go to Hawaii instead of trying to clear her name of any possible allegations?
She was not charged of anything at that point. When she left the precinct the case was being put to rest as a domestic dispute. Crazy I know.
