This, this right here is the perfect first track of any racing game ever. Good music to easily catch your attention, good track design that's simple enough for a newcomer, but not too simple so that even veterans can also have fun, the way they snuck in the classic Mute City melody, and a banner that simply reminds you to "GO FAST" just in case you were going under 1200 fucking kilometers an hour. Perfection.
Also, I appreciate that the final lap seemlessly transitions from the main section of the song to it's own section, that's great.
Love when the classic Mute City melody kicks in at 0:45. The buildup to it is so good.
it is also coldly calculated that it drops around the time you make the first lap.

Mute City: Pretty much the capital of all things F-Zero. Some say it used to be New York, others say it just sprang up quickly after extraterrestrial contact was made, but this utopia (or is it dystopia…) is constantly bustling with all walks of life. Not that you’ll see much of it while watching a race or racing yourself, since the raceway is high above the residential and commercial areas. I wouldn’t want to be under the track when a machine inevitably falls off the road. Those things can take down whole highways when they explode.
I thought it used to be Tokyo.
@@darrenmacqueen9884 I never considered Mute City possibly being descended from a real life city, but New York is a big melting pot of different cultures just like how Mute City has many races of aliens living in it so I can totally see it being F-Zero's version of New York. Plus it fits the "superhero" motif a lot of F-Zero racers have!
@BlueAizu_ In the anime it's a future Tokyo. Although in the English dub it was changed to New York.
@@darrenmacqueen9884 I'm checking a number of Japanese Nintendo and F-Zero wikis and they're all saying Mute City in GP Legend is meant to be a distant future version of New York, so for once it's not 4Kids "Americanizing" something!

Why isn't this (and many other amazing tracks from GX) in Smash Ultimate!?

@@JoeContext dunno if that has to do with it seeing there are GX tracks in Ultimate (tho they were originally there since Brawl if memory serves me right). But even so, I still don't think the GC is the problem. Not when Mario Sunshine and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (which was Gamecube exclusive at the time) are on Switch.
This track is too good for smash. All the fighters would stop fighting and start dancing in the game.
This is a very hype racing theme. I love it.
Captain Falcon is also the hypest character in Smash. High intensity, full octane, pure adrenaline.
First encountered this on an AX Deluxe Cab... memories of a forgotten time brought to life again.
It's a shame that we never got another F-Zero game after GX. The closest we ever got was Fast Racing NEO on the Nintendo Wii U and Fast RMX on the Nintendo Switch

just kill black shadow at the start. He will start behind you, you can do some srs dmg in the first 3 seconds if you time correctly. Then its just you vs blood falcon

Surprisingly, I did it in like 3, 4 or 5 tries. But it's because I was lucky enough to take out Blood Falcon on the second lap of the race (Yes, I also took out Black Shadow at the start)
Bro, I'm already feeling miserable after managing to yank my Wii to the floor when losing to Samurai Goroh in Chapter 2.
