Thats great news about the derailleur! That's what its all about companies taking notice! Now i might thing again about getting one through the year for my new ebike now its not an arm and a leg to repair the thing! Well done
Thanks to Alan ive got the new latch and did a video on it on my channel. The new latch has a thikher ramp that the pivot pin follows and the ramp doesn't break off. Takes a few minutes to fix.
Every sram derailleur I've ever owned has inexplicably bent for seemingly no reason. Shimano/other brand from now on. Also, kudos to yamaha for not following the sheep to 29", 27.5+ gives an awesome ride feel. Agile and smooth. I can't see why it's been a largely ignored set up.
I agree the GasGas has gone to the front of the cue. I have been riding bikes for 7 years now and don't have a problem with motorcycle brands having an Ebike in their ranges. Another one to add to your list is TRS similar to GasGas owned by Jordi Tarres. One of my bikes is a Thok TK01R , this brand basically make the Ducati range. I love it and it's an extremely well thought out bike. I would certainly consider owning a new GG in the future, it would sit well in my workshop alongside my 250 GG trials bike.
pretty cool e bikes from the moto company’s. I think the only one that actually looks like a dirt bike is the 2024 Canyon torque on and it is a bike brand.
With the prices of current high end MTBs compared to high end sport motorbikes, I suspect motorbikes manufacturers could indeed enter the market and be competitive.

Yes, the top end has shattered the glass ceiling, but the entry level is almost exactly where it was.

I purchased a Yamaha 7 that was a demo model. Goofy design if you like to attach things to the frame because, you CAN'T Fit and finish wasn't very good, lots of paint chips. Big miss is the lack of telemetry and data display Haven't really put enough miles on it to say but, so far it seems to be livelier than my Trek Powerfly. Well spec'd compared to my Trek and a lot cheaper. Big plus was the 3 year warranty
I don’t think I’d buy one unless my LBS carried and serviced them. I pretty much buy my home brands. Santa Cruz, Specialized. They do a great deal to support mountain biking in Northern California.
Road cc journalist said the bike industry is starting to Recover now it was their headline 2 days ago so thats good news but bad for buying bike's again soon all the 2k off here n there will stop soon now! I got £2500 off my 7k cube on new years Day order paid 4480 for it so happy i was going to get something cheaper but by the time i upgraded everything id have the same components so Saved a good bit doing it this way with the money off just now! Nows the time to buy for sure!
I have thought for a while motorbike companies are going to take over. In my opinion the reason they’re coming in now as there’s only one last major breakthrough on mtb and it’s the introduction of the internal gearbox and get rid of the mech once and for all. Who better than motorcycle companies to do this it is what they do. I bet they have their R&r team working on it right now. Let’s face it with a motor and gearbox they’re closer to a motor bike than a mtb so they thought this is our market and mtb companies won’t be able to compete with likes of say Honda. I think in the near future you will have a motor and gearbox in one lump. Chuck in the mix with the next breakthrough of batteries which is going make them lighter the bikes will have all the bonus of gearbox and motor with weight not exceeded
Gas gas has ZERO chance of penetrating the e-bike market. It’s totally idiotic to even attempt to do so with a product, specifically motor and battery, that isn’t unique to them.
It's pretty likely that those bikes weren't engineered by the guys who concept their motorcycles. All of them look pretty familiar unfortuately. They follow the herd.
Thats what id be kore concerned about whos making the ebikes for them? Ducati ebike doesn't have a good Write up and i went with the German Cube action team instead of the Gas gas! there was something that wasn't right for me i can't remember what now think it was the battery and sram motor i wanted bosch smart system only! But with the UK weather I've had it 2 weeks now and not had a chance to Take it out so hopefully after this storm coming I'll get Out this week finally! Motocross bike manufacturers know moto cross but do they know MTB and embts? By the looks of it most don't that ducati is really nice but the reviews are terrible for it
I was not impressed by the Yamaha offerings. The geo was stale at best and I ended up going rocky Mountian (local bike brand) with much better spec/price as well as better geo by several miles.
Motor bike brands should stick with what they know best, try buy a gas gas gravel bike or a gas gas hardtail, stay loyal to bike brands who cater for us all, not motorbike companies that dont.
I dunno. I like turbo for up the hill. But I still want to pedal. I mean if there is a chair lift I’d probably use that cause I am a gravity based rider. But for an exercise day to stay fit I want to ride up the hill. Emtb in turbo just means I can get 6 runs rather than 2.
@@kyleslater5245 I still like to pedal. I’m a gravity based rider also. I find the stronger I am going up, the more strong I am going down without fatigue with more precision and speed. E-bikes are modern Mopeds. They should not be treated like bicycles. If anyone took a moped on a bike trail, they would get it impounded and crushed, but somehow e-bikes are OK because these mopeds are powered by electricity?

So why would I buy it just to turn it off,
There are other advantages to SRAM powertrain aside from auto shift.
