Appearing before the committee are: Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro; Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa Franchetti; and Commandant of the Marine Corps Gen. Eric M. Smith.

It’s Obvious, As Imports (things we purchase and manufacture overseas) increase ship building capacity decreases
It seems that public high schools around the country have gotten rid of trades programs and concentrate on "social studies" so students aren`t giving thought of going into the trades as a viable career.Most schools are geared to pre-college courses in general education and many aren`t even good at that.A lot of students who attend college need remedial training and then can`t even find employment after attending college and end up with college debt.If government needs technical people in the trades those trades need to offer steady employment at a living wage.The USA spends north of 800 billion dollars a year on DoD so maybe they need to start their own trade schools through the services that can feed defense contractors, even if they have to become their own supplyer the employees they need. The money that the DoD spends should be spent wiser.We can`t count on the public school systems around the country, that`s for sure.
