Kourtaliotiko Schlucht (Kreta, 2014)

Die spektakuläre Kourtaliotiko-Schlucht ist ein Gebirgseinschnitt im Süden von Kreta. Die engste Stelle wird auch "Quelle des Megalopotamos" genannt, denn hier quillt Wasser aus seitlichen Felsritzen und wird damit zu einem der zehn, bis zum Meer ständig wasserführenden, Flüsse auf Kreta. Der Fluss mündet an dem wunderschönen, mit Palmen besetzten, Stand von Preveli.
The spectacular Kourtaliotiko Gorge is a mountain indentation in southern Crete. The narrowest point is also called the "Fountain Of The Megalopotamos", because here water swells out of lateral cracks in the rocks and thus becomes one of the ten rivers on Crete, which constantly carry water to the sea. The river flows into the beautiful beach of Preveli, dotted with palm trees.
