Well Piet you have done it. I never thought I would have watched someone spread manure! I can't begin to could the number of times I cleaned the barn and spread the manure. I have a absolutely hilarious story about the first time I spread manure. I had watched my dad do it for years so when I got my chance to do it I went for it. Well to shorten the story I learned all about spreading with and against the wind! I had to shower in the Millhouse that day, wasn't allowed in the house covered in poop. And the Massey Harris 44 got a good bath that day too!

16:50 I remember that small field section, was the final piece of wheat harvest when I drove the grain cart in 2008 🙂.

@@patrickaherne3598 Deglemen equipment may not be cheap but they are built heavy duty and built to last! Dealership were I worked at for many years sold Deglemen equipment! They build very good equipment! I have not worked at that dealership for going on 16 years and I didn’t know they made manure spreaders. Deglemen is made in Saskatchewan, Canada 🇨🇦

It has been a very good manure spreader for us, it does a good job at evenly spreading manure without leaving lumps everywhere.

@@BRPFan Oh, it looks well-built and very heavy duty. Just the scale of things on a large farm are so foreign to what my grandfather and uncle farmed decades ago. Anything smaller would be a waste of time and diesel.

@@pietvanbedaf-nddairyfarmer9047 That’s what I saw in your video how it very nicely chops up the manure and spreads it nice and evenly with out leaving lumps as you said! Glad the Deglemen spreader is working well for you! 👍 All the Deglemen equipment we sold worked very well!

Maybe sulfur and calcium would help in those wet spots along with a salt-tolerant cover crop.

Do you chisel plow or work the ground at all to get the manure below the surface before planting.
Thank you for showing us your farm. I just found you a couple weeks ago and I am hooked

That field was vertical tilled before we planted. We will do some type of tillage after spreading solid manure typically.

How many inches off concrete do you put down on your yard? They told me 5 inch is lots

Why don't you invest in making cow pots with the manure on your farm? People go nuts for those type of flower pot to plant on there garden. I would even back to ND to work at that one. Would love to see your operation.

We had someone approach us with interest in doing that a few years ago, but they didn't follow up on it. I think it's a good idea!
