- This was a tough decision to make, but I know it is right. I love y'all so much. UPDATE SINCE FILMING THIS VIDEO: I talked to all of my agents. I have officially let go my theatrical representation (besides the fact my manager could still potentially submit me for whatever). My commercial agents whom I LOVE agreed to keep me on their roster for union projects and very high paying projects only. These will likely only pop up once a month ish. It feels good to know every audition will be worth my time moving forward, even though they will be very few. Don't worry, the acting content will not stop on this channel. If anything, now I can be COMPLETELY honest about the acting world with no fear of repercussion. And who knows, maybe one day the perfect TV/film opportunity will COME to me instead of me having to CHASE it. That would sure be nice. I am excited for y'all to see what we have in the works in the hosting world, though. Prayers it all works out would be amazing, because what we have would be HUGE. Career changing. My dream of being the next Jojo Gaines would be a reality, haha. Dream big, friends. I love y'all so dang much.

I know how hard it can be to majorly change career paths after been set for so long. I spent pretty much my entire life setting myself up for teaching. I enjoy nothing more than literature and teaching and lesson planning. But I had a major physical and mental breakdown during student teaching that led me to graduate with my English, Comm degree instead of teaching licensure. It took a year to take back my physical and mental health. And now I work in retail. I never thought retail was something I would do post-grad but plot twist: I LOVE it! I go to work every day loving what I do and the environment I work for. I've been at my new job for less than 6 months and am likely going to get promoted for the second time--opening up the door to potential transfer/cross country moves. I did not imagine my like this way at all but I'm so happy and content where I'm at. Plus, it gives me space to pursue things I want like trying to start a youtube and bookstagram. You constantly inspire me and I hope someday I can be a content creator and entrepreneur like you. I appreciate your honesty and desire to move forward. You are killing it and that's amazing! I know its hard, but like you said, the universe can bring us to amazing places through interesting journeys. I'm so glad I found you and your platform. I am so proud to be part of your virtual friend group

Hi! I feel you... I grew up thinking I would become a doctor... Well I was conditioned to think that was what I wanted... I got into Med School and I was miserable.
I got severe anxiety and I started to fall behind.
So I dropped out.
Now I'm enrolled in classes that will teach me about marketing and event organisation and I feel like I'm finally in my element.
I don't know how things are going to go...Covid is not making it any easier either, but at least now I'm happy.

When you know you know. You just do it for you. It is just the right time. I worked for Target for 18 years and then retired. I just did it and felt it was time and knew it. I cried a lot and missed my job and co workers at first. But then after a while I did not miss the job just the co workers. But then realized I can always go and visit with them they are still there. I do not regret leaving it really was the right decision. In your heart you know it and can feel it.

At the end of the day, you have to be happy with what you do. I'm proud of you and I would like to let you know 5 months ago you inspired me to do and face my fears and now I'm working on it and I'm really happy.
I’m also an actor and am literally getting ready to film a self tape while watching this video. I can say that I have also felt all of these feelings, 100%, so many times in my decade of chasing the dream. The lack of respect for actors still astonishes me every day, and it’s unfortunate that there doesn’t seem like a change is coming. Up until a year ago I had thought about quitting acting maybe twice a year every year for perhaps three years. Then I met a group of women, also actors, who said you know what, let’s make our own content. That small act gave me a feeling of control in a world where I felt like a pawn on the chessboard. And right before quarantine I really committed to ramping up my hustle, splitting my time between the LA and SF market, editing my reel, getting better representation-all to have the momentum paused by a global pandemic. It was absolutely serendipitous though because the time off forced me to look at whether or not this was a life I actually wanted, and not just a life that I was chasing because me ten years ago fell in love with the craft. I also rediscovered old hobbies, and now have a small Etsy shop. I can now hold my head up high and define myself as an artist, someone in control of her craft. Long story short and moral of this lengthy comment is that I absolutely respect your decision, I know firsthand how difficult of a decision it must have been, and I know you will not stop doing great things.
I could see this coming and I truly believe that this is positive news. You've really come into your own and found your place on RUclips. You're a successful woman just being yourself, not being a part, and that's so amazing 😊 You're already building a successful, fulfilling career and this next step will lead to bigger and better things. So so courageous, Michel. The best decision I ever made was to leave LA and its industry after living there for almost a decade, and after spending my whole youth/early 20s working on my acting career, and dreaming of becoming a "Hollywood actress." As soon as I left, and moved to Paris for 8 years, my career (as a voiceover artist) thrived, and I started to retrieve pieces of my soul. So, I TOTALLY relate to this video. I will tell you though... now that you've "let it go" it's highly possible some BIG opportunities will come your way, since you're going to feel so at peace and relaxed about it! And so, in a way, this may be the BEST of both worlds for you.... since now that you're not allowing the industry to dictate everything and push you around, things can be more on _your_ terms. Sounds like you made a good choice! I had been thinking of letting my daughter get into acting, but honestly the way you describe the industry and their lack of respect for people's time is one of the reason I think she should just wait and make that decision on her own when she is older. Wishing you the best!! I just ended my career in higher ed, and it was SUCH a difficult choice to make. You really articulated so many emotions I’ve had a hard time saying, but what really stuck out to me was you saying you’ll grow more by stepping away from acting, and that’s how I feel about my current situation too. I did my best for the 10 years I tried higher ed, and it’s like being in an abusive relationship, and I just couldn’t do it anymore. I’ve been grieving, but I think so many other people can relate to a major life change right now. Thanks for sharing this important decision with us! You’ll do great no matter what!

I was a professional figure skater since I was 8 yrs old and when I decided to “retire” it was hard to leave that part of me behind but I knew I needed to do and I have great memories and constantly have been moving forward. So I am so glad you talked about production not respecting time because it’s highly competitive and having to essential rework your life around it to become successful. I’m working on a project right now where the schedule keeps changing, they are canceling scheduled days we agreed on, treating us worse than dogs, and with little pay. And since I’ve stepped foot on this set it’s made me rethink if I even want it and like you questioned would it even be worth it.
Michel, I´m honestly so glad for you! Just from the way you talked about acting the past few months, I had gotten a feeling that you haven´t really enjoyed it as much as you used to. I truly wish you all the best and as you said, who knows, maybe some day an amazing opportunity might pop up that makes you fall in love with acting/ the acting world all over again.

This was probably one of my favorite videos of yours. I think it's because it wasn't scripted and it felt so relatable. Being uncomfortable is necessary for growth. Comfort is stagnant. I've always felt like God is in control of my life and the places I go and the jobs I've had are not by chance. You will be great at whatever you choose.

You should still be so proud of going after your goal and achieving what you have in this career. It took me a while to learn it was okay to recognize when it's no longer what you signed up for and deciding that it's not the best fit for you anymore. One of my college professors in giving us advice or critiques on projects would often say "I reserve the right to change my mind" and it's such a powerful thing to do - change your mind on something when it doesn't pan out the way you wanted or hoped and particularly if it's detrimental to you in any way shape or form. Sometimes the hard thing and the right thing are the same thing and if your gut told you this is the right thing for you to do it totally is :)
You'll succeed in whatever you do. I applaud you for being able to make such a tough decision.

This feels like a decision that's been really well thought out because it's based on reality. Reality decisions can feel like, ironically, that the decision is made for you. The list of negatives is just too long!!! The good news is that acting is a skill that can be generalized in alot of different experiences. You will have the upper hand because of your rich history as an actor and as a young person who has successfully navigated a brutal industry!!! Congrats!!

I followed through with my dream as a kid and I changed my dream when I was 27. My first dream has stayed with me in informing and shaping me still but I celebrate the amazing things I have done in my life because I opened myself to never stop dreaming. Stay strong and follow your blessings.

I completely understand the feeling of “breaking up”. I left a career years ago that wasn’t working out for me and was leaving me exhausted and drained and it was so hard to do it even though I knew it was the right thing. I’m glad you made the decision to do what feels right for you.

I thought this was coming. I wonder how much the stress of this situation coming to this point has contributed to your current health problems. I hope you are feeling more peace and start enjoying LA and being your own boss again instead of stressing about how to make everything fit together. Only about 5k more to 100k! I think you're hitting it very soon!
Michel! I just want to say that you really are spot on when you said you value time with your family more than booking a job and working. I recently quit a job that was working me like a dog- 6 days a week, 10-12 hour days that started at midnight! I hated it! I never saw my family and the one day I had off, I was sleeping! It was so terrible and I believe it is a great lesson to learn how valuable your time off is so that you can spend it with your family. I now have a job that values a healthy work life balance and it’s really have shown me that your time off is what makes you happy (not the money) and that you really want to live to work- not work to live. Love you so much and I hope you are much happier now!

Even just seeing the title is giving me all the feelings. I am so proud of you for continually going after what you want and what you believe is best for you! Over the past couple years of watching your channel I've seen you grow into a more confident, self-assured, and beautiful person (and you already were one to begin!). As a professional ballet dancer, I can relate to the fears and unknowns that come with "giving up" something that has basically consumed your entire life--it's scary and can be nervewracking and uncertain. A weight seems lifted off of your shoulders. Put yourself forward and focus on you. I’m excited for you.
It takes courage to take such a huge step in life. To close a door you needed in the past. To end a career and move towards something new with risk take so much of one to do it. You are not only kind and humble you're encouraging to not get stuck into something you don't like and force yourself to do it. It feels like if you can do it, I can too. Darling girl, I think this is such a good move for you. If you are less anxious and less stressed, there is a good chance that your mental and physical health will improve (not that I'm saying you have mental health issues.) It is so important to make self care a part of our lives, which is what I mean when I talk about mental health. The amount of stress you've been under lately is not good and you're such a good and precious person and I really think this move is huge for you, in your capacity as the ultimate people pleaser. Just from watching you over the last year, I think you will be happier and more free. I'm thinking this will be better for your health as well, with less stress in your life. God has a plan for us, we just need to listen and I think that's what you are doing.

This is such a big deal I am sure. It takes a lot of courage to let go of one thing and go for something new. I love how open you are on this channel, you’re truly an inspiration! I’m feeling that exact same way about life in general right now, as I’m sure a lot of people are. Ive always had this dream to go to college, med school and become a pediatrician. It’s not like I want to give up on it but I also feel it’s so much pressure on myself to be this perfect human being, sacrificing time (friends & family and fun) to be successful in college. And then theirs the fact that I’m only 19 years old, so how do I really know what I want to do for the rest of my life or what even I’m capable of doing. I know I’m so young, yet I feel like I’ve already put so much time & effort in this dream and idk if I can handle another many, many years to finally actually accomplish it! Anyway, I could see the toll acting life has been taking on you, and they say sometimes you have to let the things you love go and if they are meant to be they will come back to you.
