    Excellent breakdown! I see Paopao as a regular 6POY candidate. Can give u quality minutes at both guard spots. Ty Harris versatility, Kayla McBride shooting & Julie VanLoo floor generalship

    The thing I like about Te-Hina Paopao is she has an player archetype that any team can use. She would be perfect for Chicago, Seattle, Dallas, and Atlanta.

    La Jolla Country Day High School players at their finest:
    - Candice Wiggins (2008 NCAA Final Four)
    - Kelsey Plum (2016 NCAA Final Four)
    - Te-Hina Paopao (2024 NCAA Champion)
    Active College Players from that High School:
    - Jada Williams & Breya Cunningham (Arizona)

    I see her being drafted to Chicago two reasons she's friends with Kamilla and they made a point guard badly

      Did you not hear she is not a point guard she is maybe a combo guard but is better at the 2 position not the one

    • @brandonleemoss

      They only need a point guard if Chennedy is not coming back
      She would honestly make a perfect 2-guard for Chicago😮

    Another banger vid ❤
    Indiana Fever: they have been rebuilding, and Paopao could offer the steady leadership and offensive punch they need. Indiana should look for players who can stretch the floor with shooting while also facilitating offense, which Paopao excels at.
    Sky: she is a skilled playmaker with a reliable outside shot. Her strengths lie in scoring efficiency, decision-making, and the ability to facilitate offense, making her a valuable option for a team like Chicago that needs scoring from the perimeter.
    I can’t wait to see her in the W

    • @faflafaflev3899
      @faflafaflev3899 18 дней назад

      The only issue with that is , you will at all times have minimum 2 guards who are below average defenders, this means that they need backup defensive big of the bench to replace boston, and probably a defensive wing to cover for the guards.

    • @0TT0_Sportsman
      @0TT0_Sportsman 17 дней назад

      The Fever don't need her, they already have plenty of guards and she's short. Most likely needs to be a backup. After Caitlin, they have plenty of backup options for the few minutes she rests. Berger is 3-4 inches taller and can play multiple guard spots.
      Fever should look to trade up in the draft for the tall french teen.

    One of the best things about a Dawn Staley coached player is how well they use their talents while fitting in to a team concept. Dawn and Te-Hina talked about Te-Hina's coming to SC like it was the perfect match. I dare say at 38-0, a national championship, both ladies know their stuff. That is also one of Te-Hina's strengths: she knows her game. The pro's won't have to train the stupid out of her. There are several who have left SC and have done well, but also showed their weaknesses at other teams. I imagine there are WNBA teams looking at her maturity and thinking Te-Hina is a prospect for a long, productive career.

  • @gregpatterson4319

    She’s Klay Thompson with a better handle! At SC you have to play defense to get on the court! Oregon didn’t demand you play defense for real! One of my favorite players to watch, she gonna play 10 years because she can shoot! Ty Harris comp for me.

    She was great last year. The best shooter in the draft last year was behind her...Brynna Maxwell. I hate the Sky let her go, even though she was injured. Shooting is so important.

    The most risk-free pick in the draft, great shooter even if defense is average or slightly below average, aways gonna have a role on bottom team as worst case scenario of the bench, but her , all while playing SG early career like most combo guards with potential with experience and growth in the league at 28-30y age to become point guard., but even if down the line she ever becomes a PG, thats ok, she has the potential but we never know if she will get there .Her potential eventually top tier pg that can score 3s at high volume and 40%+ ability to drive and kick and play off screens and of ball . I think she will be Slightly worse Jackie young (2023 season) kind of player if she 'max out' her potential , Ebut worse defense then Jackie obviously, still very goood potential to be that shooter on team with star and 1/2 all star players and go for ring as second play-maker on cheap contract year 3-4 as rookie. I think down the line she wont be some amazing scoring guard inside, but with her ability to pass, if she drvies people have to respect her scoring and react and then she can kick, or just run below the rim KP style, and reposition at corner or screen at elbow, this is what most shooters that want 3 do anyway.
    Teams that need player like her the most atm in WNBA where she should get a lot of mintues coz they dont have shooters.
    Chicago
    Connecticut Sun
    ==========================
    Low key Vegas coz Becky likes shooters a lot, but she dosnt play bench player much soo not ideal probably
    Going to young team like Fever or Sparks/Washington would be nice to develop with younger core similar age, and get minutes.

    saw PaoPao play against Memphis Oct 15, she looks like lost about 10 lbs slimmer, moving better on defense.

    LA and Lynx could really use her.

  • @rprenevost
    @rprenevost 18 дней назад

    Agree with everything you said. Wondering what you think differentiates her from a player like Sara Scalia, who went undrafted after last season. I feel like they're somewhat similar players, but Scalia wasn't even invited to a training camp. Yes, playing on a National Championship team is key, but can you point to other characteristics skillwise that really separates Paopao from a player like Scalia and makes her a much better draft pick?

    • @HunterCruse14
      @HunterCruse14  16 дней назад +2

      Good question! Scalia is strictly an off-ball shooter in my opinion. Paopao can run the offense, initiate PnR, pass, & isn’t a total negative on defense. Scalia is in the class of Taylor Mikesell and Lou Lopez Senechal prospects where its just tough for strictly shooters without secondary skills to stick in the league. The few exceptions (i.e. Karlie Samuelson) had to work for like 5+ years to finally stick

    The chi-town baddies 2025 roster (we got to manifest it lol) sn: hunter don't be letting everyone know they can use paopao only tell chicago to pick her up lol
    5. kamilla cardoso
    4. angel reese (stretch 4 pin hybrid forward-guard)
    3. Michaela Onyenwere/aneesah morrow
    2. chennedy carter
    1. lindsay allen/Aneesah Morrow (depending if teams go with a tall guard lineup)
    Bench.
    6. Izzy Harrison (versatile forward-center that can make short and long mid range shots)
    7. Elizabeth Williams (versatile forward-center that can make short and long mid range shots)
    8. Aneesah morrow (1st round pick…forward-guard that can lockdown D)
    9. Te-hina Pao-Pao/raven johnson (1st round pick…. Can make 3pts, playmaker, and defense guard)
    10. Amanda zahui b. (get height for taller center….get Li yueru if can’t get Amanda but won’t be easy)
    11. K. Gondrezick/Li-Meng/d. evans/Rachel b. (3pt and D hopefully also 3 level scorer as time goes on)
    12. Nika Muhl (via trade if not then diamond deshields…use players not listed to get 6’0 defensive guard-forward if neither DD or nika is available)
    Sn: the sky can pick up aneesah morrow paopao in 2025 with their two first round picks and if allen retires or moves on for more money/better opportunities in 2026 the sky can pick up raven johnson or kiki rice by combining their two first round 2026 picks..if allen stays we still will have draft capital to pick up whoever in 2026 to fill in whatever holes the team needs…the sky are in a really good position as a team going forward

  • @michaelayers3998

    But against a league of taller, quicker players, do you really think she could be successful in the W-let alone a starter? If she doesn’t have the ball handling skills to be a WNBA PG, and is at best a mediocre (even at the college level, never mind the WNBA) defender, is that possible?

    Rating her a better prospect than Azzi Fudd is going to be one of those moments that makes you look bad in a few years.

    • @Randomrazer
      @Randomrazer 18 дней назад +4

      Azzi's low rating had more to do with her health problems than anything else, if she comes back looking like her healthy self and can last throughout the season she's probably going in the first round.

    • @HunterCruse14
      @HunterCruse14  18 дней назад +17

      We’ll see. I had Fudd as the same grade as Paopao before the last few injuries, but I’d rather bet on Paopao who can create more on-ball, is a better passer & defender. Also you could argue she is a better off-ball shooter too

    • @_M....

      Lol no. Azzi is injury prone and has a more limited game.

      Azzi has done much of nothing to this point it makes zero sense to rate her higher than Poapoa who has elevated her game . Poapoa can play the point or shooting guard position.

      He is right, Tehina is WAY better than Azzi Fudd, always has been.
