@VictorAntonio you have a good point about the cursing. I don't know @steli personally, but I think his message is good, and it's nice to see that he has passion. I have to be honest - I used to curse a lot in my presentations as well. At the time I thought that it made me sound "real", the audiences seemed to like it, but over time I saw that it became a hindrance and that it made it difficult for me to speak at the larger more prestigious venues. Today I have 16K twitter followers, 150K FB fans - I haven't cursed in my presentations in a few years, but those RUclips videos of those presentations with all of that cursing still haunt me. Some of them have over 50K views. @steli, I don't know you, but I hope you continue to put out good content. I for one watch @VictorAntonio and other prominent sales people religiously. I have to admit that I also would prefer that you tone the swearing down a little, but I don't want to be the one to tell anyone what/how to do their THANG. @steli, I wish you all the best with close.io.

Some of you that have negative SHIT to say, obviously are not ready for this message yet and are clearly an expert in motivational talk and inspiring messages. Thank you for your comments and the time I wasted reading them. First of all, you listened to/watched his video. Didn't you? (even if it was for a short period of time) :) Just like I read your comments. Second, I read three comments and am still looking at the same three which consists of an in-between review, a bad review, and a good review. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am in sales and have been for the last ten years. I recently switched over to automotive sales and have been heavily involved for the last few years and intense, hard-nose selling is to be used at times, while other times it has no bearing and is not necessary, and will sometimes be the absolute wrong thing. As for cussing, it doesn't bother me because the kind of message we are seeking out when we listen to motivational messages or selling techniques is the truth, or a new way of doing things, or something else to add to our bag of skills (notice I didn't say tricks because selling is not about tricking people into buying what you have, and if what you are selling is unethical in any way, get out! You have to believe in what you sell.). There is a time and a place for cussing and more times than not, there can be something else substituted in for a cuss word...but cuss words are word/sentence enhancers. - I did not come up with this but when I heard it, it made sense. Some people are old-fashioned and don't agree with using profanity, but if you let it, it will stimulate you more. Just like any new sales technique or concept, it's new..you may not agree with it 100% but just because you don't believe it, doesn't make it so. It doesn't offend me or make me cringe when I hear a cuss word. I don't speak that way or this way in front of my customers, to my customers, over the phone, or any other communication.....but between salesman, between colleagues, between businessmen and entrepreneurs, and ANYONE else that is interested in bettering themselves, don't be so uptight and open up a little bit. I'm not saying to conduct meetings this way either, but in an environment like he is plotting, cussing is almost like a prop. This guy is not just talking to hear himself talk, although it helps him instill his values and thoughts even more deeper in his thinking...he is trying to help you. For a fee? So what? It is one of his income streams. But if you have something negative to say, think about it from afar and how you want to be accepted when you speak or take action...and my final advice and closing thoughts are this: Do not listen to him, tune him out, and listen to something else if you don't care for his advice. Does he have a bad mouth? Who are you to judge?Does his message have flaws? Is the lighting okay for you? Are you sure that it was exactly 2 minutes and 40 seconds in to the video when he said so and so? He didn't meet your standards? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! Although I am not trying to be negative, I may come across as bitter and that's okay. Here's a thought...treat others the way you would want to be treated and when someone else is offering advice, or inspiration, or kind words, or aggressively helpful words (like he is delivering to you and if you still are in disagreement with this I feel sorry for you and you could use more than just one video and should probably do more paying attention than writing comments as to what is wrong with his message) --- At the end of the day, if you asked him for help, I'm sure he would offer his services or advice (and if you didn't want it, then you obviously wouldn't ask). If you were seeking advice, which, if you found this video, you were or still are, then you wanted to hear a message and maybe it wasn't this one. Regardless, I want to say good job to Steli Efti and keep grinding. You will reach the audience that you intended to reach, and that is all that matters.

Really? At 2:40 your opening line is, "Who the fuck am I?" Swearing is a shortsighted tool used by people who are desperate for an "attention getter". Few can pull it off (e.g., Gary Vaynerchuk) but I still think if your content is good, you don't need to swear!

+Victor Antonio (Sales Motivation Channel) I don't do it for effect. It's the way I talk when I'm passionate :) What do you think the difference is between Gary V and "others"? Why do you believe it's ok for him to do it and how does he "pull it off"?
