- Cutie Pie, my 4 year old diluted Tortie. She had a brain injury when she was just a kitten in which her skull was fractured and formed a dent towards her cerebral hemisphere.
**Disclaimer: I’m not a veterinarian. Using laymen’s terms. She had MRI and spinal tap done. Was seen by a Nuerologist.
Thank you for sharing this, there aren’t a ton of examples on what to look for with cat seizures so this is helpful. Hope your kitty is doing okay❤
Hope you’re kitty is doing better ! I hate for fur babies to have to go through this, I’m a human with Epilepsy and it sucks!
Poor kitty. My cat has the same thing. Had four seizures last night. Changed his medication today. I hope it helps. The cat is 8 years old.
It took us some time to get her on the right medication. She does fairly well with what she is on now.

Thank you for sharing this. It's so scary to see. My 17 year old cat is currently being monitored overnight for fits and will have a neurologist consult. His fits look extremely similar. First vet told me it was just arthritis!! Nuts! Finally getting answers for my kitty. Your cats are lovely. Kinds thoughts for you.
Very heartbreaking to watch I lost my cat Dinah over a few weeks ago she couldn't move at all only her front and back feet and then she had a seizure and took her last breath and died right in front of me and it really broke my heart she was fifteen and a half years old I still miss her today she was the sweetest cat I've ever had 😔😔😔😔😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

My wife and I have fostered kittens for the last 6 years or so. We’re currently fostering a litter where one of the tuxedo kittens is exhibiting similar behavior in the middle of sleeping. She pees, drools and seems very scared in the moments after they happen… We don’t know what to do!

Cats can get seizures from brain tumors and all of that, if your cat already died I’m sorry, if you or a person in your family gets a cat and their cat has this, comfort the cat, then immediately take her/him to the vet when you have the time.
She is okay. She is on meds and occasionally has seizures. Hers are due to an injury to her head when she was a kitten.
@Kitty Kat can I ask how is your cat now after the medication? My cat had a similar seizure today which lasted about 20 seconds and was fine after. I'm waiting for blood results. Hope you cat is better after the medication x
@@chezza12uk She does well after the medication. Her seizures are from a head injury when she was a kitten. Some things trigger her seizures such as consistent loud noises.

According to google for humans it can be caused by Alcohol.
Flashing lights.
Illicit drug use.
Skipping doses of antiseizure medicines or taking more than prescribed.
Lack of sleep.
Hormone changes during the menstrual cycle.
Stress.
Dehydration.
I assume some of it apply for cats too, poor cat :(

Any animal that has a brain can have seizures and that includes every single animal in the world. It’s not just a human thing. Animals can get epilepsy, too, but many different issues can also cause seizures in animals.

Don’t think it’s seizure. Looks like a more serious neurological disorder or toxic brain damage. Medications dont work. She will not get better. The cat is suffering severely im afraid.
It's a seizure. She's had an MRI and spinal tap done. The MRI showed that it is a brain injury. The medication does work as she rarely has seizures unless something triggers her. She is doing well.

I hope she's better now! Even though it's 10 months later. Also I'm not saying this video is a joke, I take it very seriously, but at the end when the person came in it startled/scared me for no reason. I jumped. Anyways, love you, Cutie Pie!
I saw you get a blanket for your kitty. Do not restrain your pets, i repeat, do not restrain your pets in case of a seisure. It will just cause muscular damage for them. Just make sure they are in a large confined space.
We don't restrain. We place a blanket to prevent her from running into walls and hurting herself.

@@juliamcbride04 she's on phenobarbital and zonisamide. Also, she gets gabapentin as needed for stressful situations. She's 5 years old and has done well with her medication.

When she flops over, starts twitching, and she starts frothing at the mouth. She is a very chill cat and doesn't do zoomies. The head trauma affected her emotion area of her brain.
