    Favorite part: Chord sing-along. It never fails to make my laugh but I love it! I'm always impressed with your sophisticated teaching style. Many people can play, but few can play AND teach. Thanks so much for posting this video!
    Bought a package of your learning materials - book, DVD, etc - and they were fantastic!

      Yes, the chord singing is something incredible! How cleverly it helps to memorise everything in the lesson.

    John Denver was one of my favorite guitarist and music performers of the time. Still play his music to this day, and I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing the day it was announced over the radio that his plane had gone down and he had died. Would love to see you cover more of John Denver's songs. Cool video, thanks. Cheers,

    This song came out when I was 3 yrs old and by the time I was 5, it was my favorite. I used to sing it with my mom and had close family friends with teenagers who played this on guitar. It actually led me to get my first guitar. It will always have a special place in my heart.

    Ooh, this is very exciting! I’ve only been playin for 5 months, so most of the songs I’ve learned have been from RUclips tutorials. Country Roads is one of the few I’ve taught myself by ear, and I’ve been playing it for about 6 weeks now. After playing it myself for a while, I’m interested to see how you recommend I improve my technique in his video!

  • @2011littlejohn1
    @2011littlejohn1 2 года назад +2

    Hi Jason, I watch your lessons when I've learned a song because although I'm a very experienced player there just might be some little additional trick you do which I could steal. :) So thanks for the hammer on bit which I will incorporate. Regarding strumming patterns - this is something I've never actually analyzed. As a self taught player I think differently. I don't consciously go ''down up, down down, '' etc My approach is singing in my head such as '' jing jingajing jing ''which translates to ''down - down up down''. I'm not criticizing your practical terms just noting the kind of habits self taught players can get into. This example is neither negative or positive but there are many negatives and over the years I've had to consciously erase such things. However I have never managed to stop playing an open A chord with only 2 fingers instead of 3. Such programmes as yours are a boon to players. In the past I spent hours working out every lick and chord from records because sheet music just didn't tell you the full arrangement. I hope all the young players appreciate just how handy this is as I'm 79.

    Thank you Justin, even though it is extremely American oriented I like this song. Almost every song that ever wanted to learn included the 'F' chord, an incentive to learn it!
    I was once accused of looking like John Denver (nerdy, shoulder length hair and glasses) by a guy who was trying to form an ad-hoc band. As a fellow aviator I was particularly saddened by his death aged 53 in a careless, totally avoidable, possibly survivable ditching.
    BTW, Whilst your guitar and singing is nicely reproduced, for some time now your speech semms 'clipped', like you are a long way from the microphone.
