Life changes overnight for coach John Harrison when his high school basketball team and state championship dreams are crushed under the weight of unexpected news. When the largest manufacturing plant shuts down and hundreds of families leave their town, John questions how he and his family will face an uncertain future. After reluctantly agreeing to coach cross-country, John and his wife, Amy, meet an aspiring athlete who’s pushing her limits on a journey toward discovery. Inspired by the words and prayers of a new-found friend, John becomes the least likely coach helping the least likely runner attempt the impossible in the biggest race of the year.

i have gone to see this movie 3 times in this past week....nothing stirred my emotions more than this scene....it shook me to the very core of my being because I answered the question who am i? just like john harrison in the movie....i am studying nursing...it is hard and i lost my identity as a result...i love thomas hill in the movie....i had to go home from the movie, and take a hard look at myself...was GOD the #1 in my life...the answer shocked me...i had lost my identity....but, no longer....i pray everyday....but, now my prayer has passion....because I have and will continue to look at my life....JESUS is the #1 in my life....I want my life to reflect the prayer pray over nursing school....today, I am a child of GOD that studies nursing....please go see this movie, and let GOD have your emotions during the movie...it will speak to you...i promise!
Wow. God bless you Brent that was very moving. I felt the same way you did. This movie hit me hard. Really convicted me. I lost it several times throughout the movie and I'm a grown man. 230 pounds and I cried like a little girl. Keep striving. It's a tough world keep the faith bro ❤

"What have you let define you?" I think is the best question he could have asked when he did because John obviously knows who God is. But for some reason he's(John) allowed earthly things to define who he is rather than seeking God and asking him "Who am I God?". God Bless you all. 🙂🙂

But you know deep down they are just saying that, they aren't actually going to most of the time. Sometimes, we find ourselves saying that even though we won't actually pray for the individual.
I saw the movie last night at home with my darling dear wife, Tara. It was simply marvelous! I am a huge fan of the Kendrick Brothers. They are true vessels of Christ. I cried so hard because the messages were so on point. Even though I am a devout Christian, my spirit lately has been corrupted by triggers, resentment, anger, worry, doubt, fear, and insecurity. After seeing the this movie, I asked God to cleanse my heart and soul. He did just that. To anyone who has not seen movie, or any other Kendrick Brothers film, my advice: Pleas buy all six of them: Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous, War Room, and Overcomer. I pray and hope that all of you take the time to watch all of the them from beginning to end. Plant seeds praise Jesus.
This was the best movie that the Kendrick Brothers ever made.

Many times have I had the same thought, 'I wish there were more films like these.' It is so difficult to find films that edify such as these. Furthermore, as I was reading you're comment, I thought, I wish that there was a lot less of the 'trash' that is regularly released. However, on the other hand, in contrast, the few films with which God has blessed us, sure do shine brightly in such a dark field, (despite the criticism of the naysayers).

A beautiful, thought-provoking movie. It was a blessing to watch these characters in their journey of faith, forgivness, redemption and healing. I took away many good lessons from this movie and how I can apply them in my own walk with Him. Well done!!

I went and saw this movie with a couple folks from church last nigh.
I was prepared to not like it just because I thought the story is centered on a high school coach and his teams; sports teams, family team and friend teams.
Boy was I wrong. Absolutely loved it.

What's the name of the show
If every so-called Christian would be honest they would have to say that that was them. When you get saved you supposed to be a new creature, old things are passed away and all things are supposed to be new, you're not supposed to have a problem praying for half hour when you can sit down and watch TV for two. And to make it even worse can go days without reading your Bible, BUT WE'RE GOING UP IN THE RAPTURE RIGHT?-- ???

I watched this movie for the first time a while back. When I watched this scene, I had to pause the movie because I had never felt so convicted in my life. I cried and I just asked for forgiveness over and over. I called myself a Christian but there were so many things that came before that on my identity resume. Since then I’ve learned “Put GOD First”. Everything else falls into place exactly where it is supposed to be when you know who you are in him...

Loved the movie, saw it yesterday. I knew it was a Christian movie, that’s why I went. I LOVE JESUS CHRIST, this movie was a rejuvenation for me. Sometimes we lose track in life and just start living day by day. When I saw this movie I realized I had become “lukewarm in my faith.” We all know what that means - Thank You God and the makers of this fantastic movie!

Amen." --//-- I wonder, how many Christians are obedient to Jesus' command, thus are purposely going out to win souls to the kingdom, being wise in the eye of the Lord? I like feel-good movies, too, but unless they stir us up to actually convict us to apply God's will into our lives, we will be those who look into the mirror, see what needs to be addressed, but then just walk away, never being the ambassadors, soldiers, and preachers that God planned for us to be.
Amen...be lead by the truth and the Holy Spirit.
