Great video. It shows how to turn upwind and downwind really well. What I would like to ask is having turned upwind, how do you keep going in that direction. I cannot find a video that shows turning upwind and then sailing upwind for non planning beginner/intermediate. Thanks.

I had trouble today trying to go to the "Run" Zone (going 100% downwind), any tips for that? Thanks for the video

Is the body weight low and on back foot on down-wind correct? (index 1:00). What i noticed is that the front foot is getting a lot of push and the back foot is bent but most of the force goes into the front foot though.

Thanks for the video. The over done movement of the sailor makes it very clear.

Interesting, I never really learned those terms. That's why I hate sailing in a machine(boat). I just learned to rock the sail back or forwards, so I had a clear sense of going either right or left across the nose of the board. Also, during turns in most slow winds it's really the "feet" that is forcing the turn. Most beginners don't make smooth transition turns. Usually, stop dead but the sail is "blading" into the wind thus becoming like a fixed object. Now, I treated the board like a turn table. I used my feet to force the table to turn. Bingo. That's turning. Which way? Either way, clockwise or counter clockwise you can force it. I always forget was it jibe or tack? I just remember if the sail went over the nose(270 degree turn) or the tail(180 deg turn). I practiced either way, while fighting for balance across choppy seas or a stupid boat wake passing by. Yes, no finesse but man handling the board, grabbing the boom, squatting down/fighting for balance was my key to staying on and getting better. Just remember beginners there is nothing 'smooth" about falling down either in water or onto the board. keep on.

Hi Trexinvert. All good observations... but don't bring the sail back or forward across the nose of the board. Bring it back and forward along the "across the wind" line :) ruclips.net/video/qjM62PMFyzQ/видео.html

Yes. More technical terms. All true. I miss being out there.
