    That entire verbal description was displayed perfectly in time with the actions, and as a qualified Windsurfing instructor myself who ran my own Windsurfing school I was well aware of the introduction and description of the same actions in perfect timing was imperative to those under tuition to gain knowledge of the same with ease.👍

    Have sailed yachts for 23 years, just took up surfing about 4 years ago now and flew stunt kites for 22 years. Just snagged an old Bic Electric Rock in excellent condition to start. Thank you great instruction! Helped with tacking upwind a lot.

    If your learning to windsurf, BEGINNER TO WINNER is THE best investment you will ever make. I learned JUST off this video. It's very comprehensive, and about three hours long, and will save you many many headaches.

    Thank you for this! Self-Teaching here at our local reservoirs and had a good few sessions in very light wind until last night and got wholloped in 12knt constant, 18knt gusts. Now I know why. Love this sport! :)
    Edit looking back a year later: lol @ 12knots. Now its 28knots and a 7.3 that's nerve wracking.

    I bought 'beginner to winner' some time ago. it's a really great resource. it majorly helped me learn to water start and improved my stance when blasting. it made some difference. I'd recommend it to anybody.

    Thanks! Quality instructional video. 30 seasons of windsurfing, but still find the video useful. Especially the "top tips". With the years and experience you tend to windsurf by "instinct, feel" v. thought. At times it's hard to explain the hows and whys to a newbie. Sent the video link to a friend who is just starting. Where did you film the on water sections of the video?

    If your an absolute Beginner windsurfing and are looking at buying a Board... if you can't get advice... look at RigGeek.com. There is a direct relation of body-weight to Board size to rig and fin size and the liters volume of the board. There is a windsurfing gear calculator in RigGeek.com that is free and Priceless. It will save you a fortune.
    That's if you can't get along to Gem Halls workshops. ( he's the best IMHO)
    We all want our sport to grow again,.
    Share and Enjoy.

    Always wear beach shoes, as you don't want to step on broken bottles or rusted cans. With todays boards being as wide as they are, it's MUCH easier to learn windsurfing.

    Really bad idea to use knees on this anti sleepy surface.. After 5 days of intense newbie training you'll scratch your knees completely. My own experience. So train stretching and use feet straight away to stand up instead of knees.

    • @nickswampah3272

      I agree. Your next board will scratch your knees. So pull up and land on your bottom. Then stand on your feet.

    • @trexinvert
      @trexinvert 4 года назад

      Great point. Any beginning windsurfing video or instruction needs to "remember" one thing. STANDING on the board is a skill in itself for anyone who has never surfed, waterski, skateboards,...etc. Also, when you have wind you have CHOP. Yes, the water is going up/down. Why not start from basic. How to STAND on the board and not fall off. Don't be in a rush to grab the line. Also, if you feel like falling just drop that damn sail. Start again. That's part of learning and building strength.

    • @saskia959
      @saskia959 10 месяцев назад

      @@trexinvert Absolute my experience! Where I live water is choppy most of the time if not quite wavy. Very tricky to just stand on a board that is not 200 litres.

    Great vid!
    I'd just like to add that the dude messing about in icy water is not wearing a wetsuit, he's wearing a drysuit, sometimes called a steamer. It seals against your skin at the neck, wrists and ankles, keeping water out completely.

    • @ryansmithphotography9383
      @ryansmithphotography9383 6 лет назад +2

      wordreet its definitely a wetsuit, just with a hood, gloves and wetboots for added cold protection.
