Welcome to the capital of the province where I am a relative, maybe many foreigners are afraid to go to Makassar either because of the news or something else, try to feel the vibe of the people who might be more excited, don't forget to try eating Makassar coto, konro soup, green banana and kikil soup, if you like If you want to see the forest and it's cool, it's close to Makassar. You can visit Malino, Gowa Regency. If you want to see beach tourism and Phinisi boat building, you can go to Bulukumba Regency or Bira Beach.

Hello guys! If you are still in Sulawesi, don't miss to tasting Makassar's traditional soup, namely Coto Makassar, one of which is famous there is Coto Makassar Haji Daeng Tayang. If you have enough time in Makassar, try exploring Samalona Island using a pinisi boat. Samalona is a small island that has a beach with clear water, located not far from Makassar beach. A suitable place to relax while calming your heart and mind because Samalona is a hidden gem island that is not yet known to many foreign tourists. If you like nature challenges, try coming to the Maros area to see the oldest cave paintings in the world which are estimated to be around 45,000 years old. You will have an unforgettable experience there. And then don't miss to visiting Toraja as well which has charming nature and unique culture.
Enjoy exploring Indonesia. We hope your trip is always safe and leaves a good impression forever.

Welcome to the island of Sulawesi.
You can enjoy the beauty of different cultures from each province in Sulawesi.
South Sulawesi, (Makassar): Bugis tribe, typical food of Coto Makassar, palubasa, etc.
Southeast Sulawesi, (Kendari): Tolaki, Buton, Muna tribes. Typical food: kasuami, ikan parende, etc
Central Sulawesi (Palu) with the kaili tribe, typical food: Kaledo, burasa, Lalampa, etc.
West Sulawesi (Mamuju): with the Mandar tribe, typical food: Jepa, kue bikang, etc.
Gorontalo (Gorontalo): with the Gorontalo tribe, typical food Binte biluhuta, ilabulo, etc.
    North Sulawesi (Manado):
with the Minahasa tribe, the typical food: Bubur Manado, Cakalang fufu, etc
In fact, there are many more tribes in Sulawesi, and each tribe has a different language, different cultural customs, but remains within the same family frame. And you can be sure that your trip will be very enjoyable in Sulawesi. ❤❤😇🙏

Konro especially in makassar mostly use beef or buffalo, it's not rare but you need more effort to search food stall/restaurant using horse ribs. But if you go to jeneponto, you can easly find horse meat cuisine since horse product is jeneponto speciality, and there is too restaurant using venison but not for conro, but it's rare to see restaurant using venison nowdays in makassar and jeneponto...

you mention Pangeran Diponegoro. he was basically the kicker of Independence movement snowball all the way up from 1830 to 1945. it's a long history though.
Fun Fact: during five years of Diponegoro war against VOC (Verenigde Oostindische Compagn). he manage to make VOC spent alot for war fund, around 20 million Gulden, which is roughly similar to VOC's 10 years revenue. because of that, in Holland occured revolutions at one part of the country that cannot be solve by the kingdom of Holland, so.. that one part became Belgium.

I know because i was 1 of them 20 years back lol. And yes in Makassar its dry season now, rainy season will start usually on November or by the end of November
Ah yes almost forget, you can try Coto made from Horse meet. Coto Kuda (Horse Coto) originated from Jeneponto Regency approximately 120km South of Makassar
Konro means soup with bone (of course there will be some meat), so you can choose Soup Konro or Konro Bakar (Grilled Konro)

More east you guys traveled to East Indonesia, the different hour is 2 hour from Jakarta, like Papua for example.
