Normal quality engine oil don't need any additives, and for turbocharged engine it will be worst at all. Be better to change oil more frequently, every 5000 miles (8000 km) for example.
My '01 Duramax is turbocharged, and has 370k miles. I use exactly 0 engine oil additives, plain old Rotella T4 15/40 dino oil every 5k. You Porsche guys are nuts.
Are you using these additives Engine Flush or Cera Tech due to age (12 years is not that old) or higher miles? Additives are highly controversial. When to start using them? after which age or miles?
Using additive is a personal preference after doing my own research, I suggest that you do your own research. I have owned a lot of German cars, including my current BMW M6. The Ceratec can be used at any milage. The engine flush should not be used for lower milage vehicle, I will only use engine flush at 40k to 100k plus vehicle.
I took my 2008 Porsche Cayenne GTS to a local Merchanic to change my oil with my own oil, I used 5w 40 liquid moli with additives but first I installed a flush before bringing but now I noticed when I open oil cap I hear a feel air pressure and it even spits out a little oil? Never did that before
Liqui Moly make 2 kinds of 5W-40. 2332 vs 2041. Which one to use. I have no experience with either one. I never heard of Liqui Moly before today. Liqui Moly: are they good or since Porsche is German brand and every one is moving toward every thing German? How can you even tell if one is better than other?
I prefer liqui moly for all my German cars because I never have engine failures because I use them from my personal experience. You are free to choose any brand you like.
I have owned the race ramps since 2014 when I had my Corvette C6. The best ramps that are solid and will not move. I feel safe working underneath my cars when I use these ramps. They are not cheap but we cannot replace life.
You will be fine. 0W40 circulates quicker in your car’s engine when the weather is cold. If you live in a part of the country that has cold winters then 0W40 is likely a better choice for your engine than 5W40

Great advice and update EJ !!! Oil changes are the key to a long life . . . great maintenance my friend . . .jeff
Thank you very much brother Jeff 😃

Good job on keeping the Duramax running at 370k miles Jeff 👍👍👍
@@ejsgarage that's easy to do, good job to you on keeping that Porsche going! Liking the videos man, keep up the good work.
turbo the best friend
Terima kasih banyak ya 😃
Flushing is fine but use a blow dryer up top to blow more dirty oil out. No need for additives
Beautiful video my friend ❤🌹👍
Thank you very much Yulia ❤😀❤😀
Oil looked dark as f**k on dipstick. And that was new.!!!
Looks like you've moved to a nice house in the hills👍
Hi Dave, yes we moved from the condo to a house 😀

I never have that happened before. Just check the engine oil level to make sure that it wasn’t overfilled. It should be ok
Any particular reason you change brand (Mobil 1 to Liqui Moly) and Viscosity (0/40 to 5/40)? I assume Virginia gets cold as well!
Liqui Moly is the best, it makes the engine runs very smooth
Porsche really recommends this? Thanks for the video EJ!
Porsche America recommended it

I prefer liqui moly for all my German cars because I never have engine failures because I use them from my personal experience. You are free to choose any brand you like.
@@ejsgarage I am asking in terms of curiosity as I don't know which one to pick. I live Mid South and we do get snow may be once a year (few mm).
EJ are those race ramps good or are there better ramps out there? I seem some of these fail thanks.
I have owned the race ramps since 2014 when I had my Corvette C6. The best ramps that are solid and will not move. I feel safe working underneath my cars when I use these ramps. They are not cheap but we cannot replace life.
@@ejsgarage thanks yeah but I do agree they are expensive. I also ordered the liqui moly engine flush and cera tec thank you.
From where did you Buy O ring? Is this generic or or specific for a car and model?
The o ring is Porsche Cayenne Specific OEM brand, I just change the oil drain plug all together. They are pretty cheap.
Hi.I have a porsche cayenne base 2010 3.6 v6.Actually i used 0w-40.If i do the engine flush it is possible if iuse 5w-40?Whats the difference?

Correct, to make sure they are mixed with the oil.
@@ejsgarage ok then I have to get the oil saver . Are you still running that oil?
Yes, I use Liqui Moly for my Porsche Cayenne and VWs.
👍👍👍
Thank you very much
