Hey all! This is my first video with closed captioning transcribed and attached to the video!!! I'm very excited to offer more accessibility options! Please let me know if you have had issues with it. It's my first attempt, so there is likely room for improvement!
My kids are too heavy to hold up but I'm proud of them. Thanks for the video
Thank you for this sound advice!
I love the last tip! I’ll show my work to anyone even my dog, like I love what I can create! I just need to find something I don’t mind making ALL the time. ❤ I’m enjoying your videos.
I just started watching your videos and I want to say how much I appreciate the discussions around other aspects of bag making and the ends and outs of things to think about.
Common failures in bags video? Yes please! 🙋🏻♀️
Great video! People have been asking to buy my bags but I have resisted…I have given them away and asked for feedback on how they perform…and now I’m just starting to make them for the price of the material…I agree about using the bags to see how they perform and it is eye opening. I have had one come back with a broken zipper tail but it was an easy fix (I also used glue in the zipper tail now). I am proud of my bags and enjoy making them…maybe one day I will sell!
Please value your work. Others want to buy your bags and support your growing business. Best wishes to you.
I actually do the same thing I stop grab paper and pen and write ideas down. I get great ideas in the middle of the night 🌙 😌. Great video
Whenever I make a new pattern I always test it myself. Then I sell at a discount with the disclosure of it being tested and sold as is.
That's what I do too! Oftentimes this happens on the live streams I do over on Twitch. I live stream the testing/editing process. I would pull those videos over here, but I get distracted and chat about all kinds of things. It would probably frustrate people who stumble upon it and just want to see the pattern testing specifically.
Love your channel! Would love to sell more bags, but my area doesn’t support my prices, I refuse to lower my prices. What most are willing to pay wouldn’t cover Materials. I sell by word of mouth. Thank you for sharing with us.
You sound great
While not for everyone, have you considered Etsy? The fees are pretty bad, but it's a good way to build a client-base before going all in on your own website.
How do you discount with "positive flair?"
Love your helpful videos
I probably should have elaborated on that - I don't run on a script, so sometimes I just blab on and on forgetting to give more examples. One really good example is when I'm testing my patterns, before handing off to outside testers, I will make a version that is decent enough to sell, but isn't exactly the final product. I'll discount it by explaining it's a tester for a new pattern and more often than not, people do want to pick it up! Emphasizing the "one of a kind" aspects of the handmade nature of our products is a-ok as long as you're honest!
I burned the edge of a vinyl bag once and had to clean it off with one of those Magic Erasers. It rubbed away a little bit of the color, so I discounted it 5% and was just honest about it. I'm hyper-critical though. What I notice isn't what your average person will notice.
So happy I came across your channel! Thanks for all the advice and knowledge (◕‿◕)♡ Also you're hilarious
Hi, about your sun 🌞 problems, here's something to try. Take down the blinds in the room where you upload your videos, instead put up white cotton draperies that go slightly past the sides and the top/bottom of the window frame. The white fabric will still give you a bright room much like the blinds do, but you won't have the sun 🌞 peaking in where you don't need it. This keeps your eyes focused on your project and you don't have to cover your eyes, squint or keep moving around. I have sheer white draperies that I put up in the summer months and add on cotton draperies in the evening to keep from prying eyes 👀. 🌹😅 Let me know if this works for you as well.
Thanks, but I'm cool with the blinds. I work in this room as well, and love natural light :)
Can you teach us how to start an online shop?
