Thank you for your review. I was waiting to see a review on the L mount version of this lens for some time now. I will buy it now and get rid of the sigma 70-200 :)
very nice video very good information . I see all the video of this lens and you give the best information for sure. thank you and keep do the video . I see you from Spain
Great videos on this. Came at a perfect time too. I currently have a 24-105 and Sigma 24-70. I'm thinking of trading the Sigma in for this. I no longer shoot corporate or weddings and am focusing on my passion for wildlife. Would you opt for this or the Panasonic 70-300? For context I also have the Sigma 150-600. Need something less massive for more casual adventures in the wild.lol
Thanks for watching ✌🏾 In this case I would go for the Samyang, just because personally I don’t like to have lenses that basically sit on top of each other if you understand what I mean. And you would basically have from 35mm to 600 covered. But have to consider that the Panasonic 70-300, has IS, and is half the waiting, I understand why you’re considering it, it would for sure be a good one for wild life for sure, and if you’re doing only that, then probably this lens is the best choice. But if you want to be more versatile, the the samyang is the better choice. Hope this was helpful
I have the 35-150mm, and I got rid of the 24-105 F4. I'm assuming and would probably bet on it, you will immediately get rid of that AND the Sigma 24-70. The 35-150 will surpass that for sure. Then you also have the 150-600 ?! No brainer. Two lenses in your kit, 35 - 600, I would opt for that setup in a heartbeat !
I have the lens for Sony (a9) it is a lovely lens to use and I sold my Tamron 70-180 2.8 for it as I find it so much more practical. Yes it’s heavy but so is everything else when you want 2.8. The only gripe I have is the lock button position is hidden when the lens hood is in its storage position. I’m not sure if this is intentional design or a flaw but it means everytime I want to unlock the lens I have to take the dam hood off!
yeah it is super practical and the waight is fine for me too actually, helps even more for the handhoalding giters. yeah you are right, i have found that as a bit annoying problem actually, after i filmed this video, i guess they did not really think about it, and just assumed that you will use the lens with the cap forward, which is not totally wrong. so yeah...
Great review of a very intriguing lens. The weight is the biggest con for me. Also I would like to know if focus ring control is available on this lens for manual focus. And take care, hope you mentally recover from your childhood trauma. Wish you luck on your therapy.
Hi, bro, I bought a lumix s5iix, the same as yours, but the autofocus on the tamron 35-150 lens with a resolution of 2.8-4 Ef does not work for me. I think I'll take the Samyang 35-150, the same as yours, but I'm afraid it will have poor autofocus too. What do you say, is it not difficult to work with this lens? I still don't like the protective pads on the HDMI in this camera, won't they go bad in six months? Plus, autofocus doesn't work in FullHD Maybe it's worth selling and buying Sony? or Canon? or Nikon? How does Canon 16-35 suit you? Which adapter do you use?
@@mixvladis7334 Tamron EF lenses adapted to LUMIX I don’t think they really work properly, only EF and sigma EF native lenses adapted are good, for what I know. So I would suggest to buy the L mount version, as you see in the video, the AF is pretty good. I have had mine for more than a year, and the pads are still like new. For the AF in full HD 60 and 120, they are set to realise to firmware update to fix that soon. The EF 16-35/2.8, that I have is actually the first version so it has more than 20 years and work pretty good, really happy about it. It is up to you on the system you should use, what I would suggest is to use what you feel it is better for you, for the type of work you do. I Shoot lumix because I love the video features, and it allows me to shoot BRaw externally if I want too, and still use the camera for photography. Plus 3:2, in video silt is just a time saver for me and clients, so yeah. It is always about what you need in a camera that matters not the company. In my opinion
Man….this lens was highly anticipated for me, money waiting on deck and everything 😅. I was hoping to get rid of a few lens but I had to pause. I have the trifecta of the Sigma 16-28, Sigma 28-70 & Canon EF 70-200 and thought maybe I would at least replace my 70-200. But with the weight being close, losing the Tripod Ring on the 70-200, not sure I want to lose the 28-35mm & 150 - 200mm additional range replacing these. Great review.
thanks mate i guess it is more important to understand your your kind of shooting, if changing lenses in the midel of a shooting it is not a problem for you, then you do not need the versatility that the samyang gives you. and the other point is if you shoot pramerelly pics or videos, because i think this was designed with videographers in mind first the photographers, just because f the features it has. but you look pretty well set, so i guess it depends on how you feel on changing lenses in the midle of shoots. the waight is there for sure, but i wouldnt really considere it as a factor if you shoot in profession invirements.
@@samuelboagraphy I shoot fairly High End Events with 5 cams. Most of my handheld work is between 70-150mm (maybe further occasionally) otherwise I’m on a 35mm Prime. I need to quick release my 70-200 on and off of sticks. So this was a unique buy. All in all, this is a great release from Samyang on the L-Mount.
About the APS-C mode for this lens wouldn't it be 52.5mm to 225mm? Would you say the image quality with this samyang zoom lens is as good as the Lumix 35, 50, 85 f1.8? Thanks
@@mnkwazi hey, yes you’re right, I didn’t a mistake there, thanks for the correction 🙏🏾 No I wouldn’t say the image is the same because prime lenses image quality will never be worse than zoom lenses image quality. Except for the RF 28-70/2, that’s the best zoom lens ever created in my opinion. But in this case we talk more about versatility. The quality it is amazing for a zoom lens, but the LUMIX S prime lenses are going to be a touch better when it comes to image quality.
that's how you axtually make a dolly zoom, so i guess it did not work out for you neither. But i have seen, many doing with the camera on a tripod. I guess just matter of understanding how to get it proparlly
