Glad I found this video. I was cutting some very dense Norwegian plywood when my saw suddenly stopped . None of the circuit breakers were tripped. So I’m hoping this will get my motor on the road again.
You saved me buying a new saw! My Dewalt 744 would not start. I had narrowed it down to an open field coil and found they are not available. I watched your video (I thought there might be an auto-reset thermal switch lol). Took the coils assembly and brush holders apart. Coil okay, had to scrape the point of my multimeter probe with a lot of pressure to get a reading through the holder. The resistance of lignin, physical and electrical, and invisibility is amazing. $32 for two holders and brushes and I will be back in business. Thanks again!
That motor on the table saw looks like the motor on a miter saw. Wondering if it would fit on my dw744 saw.what is the model saw that your showing on this video?Oh, very good advice on maintaining equipment.
I was cutting cookies into 2x2 from a tree that was cut down years ago on my brand new dewalt table saw.. I made 4 cuts then my table saw just stopped working. Before it stopped there was a few time where it was just stop (I’m thinking because it was a weird angle) so I kept restarting. Now it won’t start. Any idea what I did?
ive got a delta. the one at lowes for 599.99. 36-725 i believe. 10 inch 13 amp 1 horse single phase. anywho it started squealing on start up and bogs down super easy. the belt seems fine. i blew it off and checked connections. capacitors charge and discharge fine. no bearing noise. any ideas? i didnt even have it 4 months. no receipt or proof of purchase as i used cash.
My dw744 stopped running. Took it apart tested everything. Tested good. Blow it out put it back together and worked great. Get to the jod the next morning hit the switch and it started to run. Then nothing. Got power to the fron od motor but nothing at brushes. Help
I purchased a dwe7485 on craigslist looks brand new .And it seems to cut fine but makes a struggling sound when I run any wood through it.And i put a brand new diablo on it.Any ideas?Thankyou!

thank you for the info, i have a old table Saw,,, i mean old,,,lol Black&Decker, that has never been cleaned,,, mine just started to do a no start, but if left on for a few min would start,,, im fixing to take it apart to clean since i cant afford to buy a new 1,,,lol
i did find out my saw has no brushes, the saw has never been cleaned, i cleaned the motor connections, where the wire hook to the motor they were covered with sawdust, useing pliers i tighted up the connections and put it all back together, before i would pull the start button and it would take 10 to 20 seconds for the saw to start or longer,,,,now it start Immediately :)
Great vid, just cleaned my brushes up today. I went to order new brushes but the original in that saw is obsolete so the replacement part doesn't look the same. Have you run into this?

Something electrical; really not easy to diagnose without seeing it.
May be it also has a lousy soft start switch like my Hitachi ... lol ..change it
Did you install new brushes ?

Thanks for video. Would you recommend blowing with and air and also using chlorinated brake cleaner???
Just use compressed air. Never use brake cleaner on a motor.
I don’t understand why no filter?
I picked up one of thes job site table saws that someone though away today so I'm going to check this out on it one of these days thanks
Hello, great video!! What is the cause of my conmutator making too much sparks when it come in contact with the brushes?
