I have a 2008 Kawasaki Concours. When you park it next to the latest generation Gold Wing, the size difference is quite small. My factory saddlebags width is more than the Gold Wing. When you sit on it, the fairing is no wider, and when you look down the widest part is the engine. Having the camshaft covers out there means easier access to measuring and adjusting valves. It is argumentatively a sport touring bike. If you look from the front of a 2017 to a 2018 bike, the 2017 fairing looks like a barn door compared to the 2018, and it lost 100 pounds.
I had only Harleys for 20 years before I bought my DCT Tour Wing last year, and while I still own 2 Harleys one of which I bought used as a nostalgia cruiser after the Wing purchase, the Honda is outright the most incredible bike I've ever ridden, and I've also ridden the BMW R18B and K1600GA.
@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA New one or Old one? Curious. I have a C10, ZX11 and ZX14R. And an Ol wing GL1100. I just hate rappiong my shin on the Wing engine happens ALL the time and Love the Connie tourer. The other 2 are just RIPPER's.......and I do love them yes.
I own a 2018 DCT Tour and a 2023 CVO RoadGlide. Two very different bike. Performance, handling and comfort Goldwing wins no contest. The new CVO is surprisingly pretty nimble but very top heavy. Power and acceleration it’s hard to say which is faster, I believe the Goldwing might have the edge with the DCT. I bought the 23 CVO to replace the Goldwing, honestly because I got board with the bike and the constant that’s an “Old person bike” and the “I need a clutch” comments, but I can tell you now nothing can hold a candle to the Goldwing. I will be keeping both for now. Goldwing is like a Tesla Plaid and the CVO is a Hellcat, both are fun for different reasons.
I'd have to reply back. How many old person bikes accelerate this fast? And, exactly why do I need a clutch handle? Or, I DO have a clutch. Two clutches to be specific.
Love my 2022 GW Tour..and...I am 74...reduced weight of bike and low center if gravity make it very manageable. I drive it in manual mode..95% of the time..!!
I test rode one a couple of months ago, DCT model, and it was amazing! I own a Indian Chieftain and honestly if the numbers were better I may have traded my bike that day! I love my Chieftain and they didn’t want to give me fair money for a trade so I walked away. But it had nothing to do with the Goldwing. The other thing is I’ll be turning 61 next week and the Goldwing, while heavy standing still felt like a sport bike once it was moving. And not having to shift gears in my older age is definitely a plus. I like the look of many bikes but it all comes down to what fits you the best.
I was a bit younger when I wanted my first new motorcycle back in 1999. I ended up getting a new Honda Valkyrie and still have it to this day. I pull out the now antique Valkyrie for a ride and it’s still outperforming every bike in the group in stock form. I added a new KLR to the garage last year and do enjoy most of my riding with fuel injection but still. Once in a while I pull out the Valkyrie and open up 6 cylinders attached to 6 carburetors and my need for speed has been satisfied for a while.
I traded my limited on one last year. Part of the reason I bought it was because it was different. After three Harleys in a row. I found it to be refreshing. I love it.
Love your videos. I've wanted a Goldwing for decades and finally made a dream come true this December. A brand new 2024 green bagger DCT is waiting for me and for warmer weather, at my local Honda dealer. Watching your videos allows me to vicariously enjoy my new bike through your rides - thank you. Btw, I'm in Ontario Canada and it'll be March before the weather improves enough to take my wing home and start riding again. 🎉
I've been in the bike business 24 yrs now and I can say for a fact, the people who scream NO have actually never ridden one. It's in a class of its own.
I’ve been on Ultras since 1990 and 220,000 miles. I rode a 2021 DCT in 21, and I’ve been trying to get one ever since. When I find the right deal, my 2012 FLHTK is history. The new GW is way more than just the DCT. Like the OP said, “Ride if before you blast it”.
I will ecco that, That right there is the King of Touring! I've had 3 wings and 4 Harleys and many other bikes over the years. You can not beat a WING! Love mine. 🐝
Good Vid man. I have a 22 DCT, heavily experienced on Goldwings for many years and harleys and yamaha's. I bought my 22 and put in sport mode my first week. and well it scared me!! Yea get those nay sayers saying its a car, to get on one of these and put in sport mode and "try" to take off by barely twisting the throttle and not be thrown off. Then they will change their perspective of this bike. I took to the dragon and kept up with alot of the faster bikes. cant really turn to deep due to some outward features, but it did very well! I love mine! I would buy another. I wanted to keep my 2016 GW that I traded but alas no room in the garage to keep both. BTW, I bought the non-tour because I had a tour and didnt need all that stuff on it all the time. with this one, I can lower the shield for a free air ride on very warm days, up for cold days. My only complaint, the 2018's and up are narrower than the 2017/below. My legs get wet in rain, my old one, not so much. I would stay dry.....well almost, some rain days are soaking....so...you WILL get wet no matter what. I cant wait to do a tour again on the PCH(twice for me on the old bike), when I get some time off and travel from texas to San fran. takes about 2 to 3 days to ride the pch from L/A....if you have a goldwing this is the ride to do..... Back to the DCT, for the money, you get alot of options that you couldnt get on the older GW's. I have the base DCT (matte blue), wicked looking bike, compliments all the time! Some people ask me what it is...LOL. You get the Nav, ABS, Sirius XM(with subcription) Car play(with the purchase of a headset-ugh). sport bike bike type prowess, and guranteed to give anyone wanting to play a run for their money at the lights or on the twisties. I really enjoy mine. If want to go fast I take my bike out, and I have 2 corvettes!!! LOL one more thing, I did update mine with back rests, for comfort on long rides. and passenger for the wife, to keep her on the bike. heh and a rack, on trips to the dragon and to Arkansas, I use a large trip bag and strap it to the rack perfect!! I have taken 3 long trips on this bike in the last 2 years and its awesome, my 2016 was more comfortable i think but this one likes the backroads. its quiet and fast. and really quite good on gas. sometimes over 268 miles.
Wow! Your bike looks absolutely sublime! It’s STEALTH! You nailed it. I own an ultra blue 22 DCT Gold Wing Tour Airbag. Sport mode rocks! Woohoo! The engine when ripping on it really does sound similar to a Porsche flat six. Anyway. Love the look of the stripped down Bagger or as it’s called, the Gold Wing. As you said Storage is easily handled with numerous offerings for either the passenger seat-bags that can serve as a back rest or go with a rear rack bag. Never heard that about a dealerships not working on a bike after so long. I’ve owned a new 84 GL1200 and 96 GL 1500. Never was an issue. Well done with your’s. My bike can be seen on Middle Age Road Rage’s video Gold Wing of the week. Nice job here. I likey! Enjoy that beast.
I love my 22 Tour DCT version. Came from Harley's and BMWs previously. I do wish there was more starage in the side bags, but the top case is huge and I bought a luggage rack to strap things to the top of it if needed. A few things I wish it had: a touchscreen navigation. There are so many buttons and remembering what does what is confusing sometimes while riding. The center pocket storage tray gets very hot, which is where the phone goes when plugged into the USB. That poacket should also be lockable. Too many PROs to talk about, but power, handling, smooth shifting and ride comfort is 2nd to none. I will get another bike (smaller) to crusie around on, but to tour and be comfortable this is it.
I used to say I never liked the way they looked. But I was in a Honda dealer and looking and one and sitting on it changed my mind. In person I think it looks great. And the low center of gravity is awesome. With reverse. I'm a short rider and I ride a Road Glide now - trading it for a Honda Rebel as soon as the 24's hit the dealer in the next couple weeks. Maybe in a couple years I'll switch back up to a Goldwing
I was late to the GoldWing party by 2 years. My first Wing was 1977. A couple years later I purchased a 79. Has Vetter fairings on them and euro style removable luggage. My last one was a 1991 Anniversary edition in Gold. All together, I have over 400,000 miles on motorcycle in all seasons, including ice and snow. 99% of my miles are on Wings, and my next high miles bike was a V8 made in Canada. I've owned Suzuki, Kawasaki, Honda, and a Big Brute. Nothing comes close to all the boxes a GoldWing checks perfectly. I've been sitting in a recliner for 6 years because of a leg issue. Watching your Wing videos, something inside me clicked, and I woke up from my long nap. Thank you for your wake up videos that have inspired me to get off my ass and walk/ride again. One step at a time, but I'm coming back! I want the automatic version with no trunk and a trailer hitch for a small trailer. My psst bikes I always did full custom, 1st place bike show winners, but I'm over that, next I'm going full stock, maybe a seat upgrade and that trailer hitch. Color, anything except dark. Something like yours would be great.
In my opinion AB, you are sitting on the best all around motorcycle made. Honda screams reliability. I owned many other Honda's in my time, bulletproof. I would also mention the Eas ability of removing the rear wheel on the Wing. Excellent video.....
Bought a 2018 DCT Tour, my third Wing. Best Wing ever, until the next best Wing comes along. It’s not without its faults, but no car is for everyone either. I did replace the seat with an Ultimate, and have Helibar risers along with highway boards. I use the onboard GPS without issue. You have to learn it, and be open minded about how to use it. Not everywhere you ride is going to have a cell signal to keep apps running accurately. I use Scenic app and make sure that I also dump the routing to the onboard GPS. Keeps everything covered. All of these things make the bike very non-stock, but also make it perfect for me.
I've been riding motorcycles for a grand total of 1 month now. Picked up a 2009 Honda Shadow Aero back in December and started riding in February. Surprisingly, I've had very nice weather for winter where I live. Before getting my bike, I had watched, and obviously still do watch, motorcycle videos for years. I always loved the sounds, the freedom, and it just looked like a lot of fun! I can definitely say without a doubt that I have absolutely no regrets buying the motorcycle! My Dad got an HD Road Glide Limited (2022 I think) about a year or so ago and after working my butt off, I'm able to ride with him now. We've already got a trip planned out to Yellowstone this summer and I've been in the process of making my little Shadow a mini bagger/tourer. My motorcycle came with some very nice aftermarket parts installed by the previous owner and that, along with riding for little while, has given me a feeling for what I'd want/look for in my next motorcycle. First of all, I'd certainly want a quiet motorcycle for long trips. Don't get me wrong, I love the way my bike sounds! It has the Cobra Streetrod pipes and that's the exhaust I would've wanted on a Shadow ultimately. Like I said, got very lucky when buying this bike. I wear earplugs and it's just loud enough so I can hear what the engine is doing for speeds below 50 - 55 mph, but quiet enough to where I hear just as much wind noise as I do exhaust at highway speeds (65 - 75 mph). I have a 21" windshield for reference. I'm not incurring any sort of hearing damage, but for long trips, I think a quieter motorcycle would be one less sensory input to tire me out. Secondly, the seat is a Mustang with a backrest. Absolutely amazing! For about 2 - 3 hours. After that, I need to get up and stretch out a bit. I think a more neutral riding position with the pegs under the knees (like on a dedicated tourer) would be very beneficial for standing up every once and a while. Third point. I can already see the appeal of a front fairing. I have lowers and a massive windshield already and I'm still getting hit with wind at 70 - 75 mph that comes around the sides. I have some wings that I'll be installing on the sides of the windshield once my bike gets back from having saddlebags installed. I love the feeling of the wind! It's fun! But at 70+ mph, it starts to get old after a while. I wear full gear as well. The adjustable windscreen on a Goldwing would be awesome! Fourth thought is about the weight of the motorcycle. My little Shadow is definitely not the heaviest, nor the lightest motorcycle on earth. I think it's very manageable/flickable. Very easy to ride! I've sat on my folks' Harley Road Glide Limited and after doing so, I don't know if I'd ever want a V-Twin style tourer. I get that skill is a massive factor when it comes to controlling a motorcycle, but at some point, heavy is heavy. I'm 5'8" with a 30 in. inseam for reference. I can flat foot the Road Glide, but there is very little room for "tippage". It... is.... soooo.... heavy! The thing weighs almost half a ton and much of it isn't that low to the ground. Look, I get it, thousands upon thousands of people have Harleys and can ride them just fine, but if I can make life on two wheels easier, why wouldn't I? The Goldwing Tour DCT Airbag costs basically the same as a Harley, weighs almost 100 pounds less, the center of gravity is very low, and it has a reverse/crawl function for parking (or just moving in general). Fifth point. Maintenance. My Dad's Road Glide has about 12,000 miles on it and is already leaking oil. The bike has been babied and the maintenance schedule has been strictly adhered to. It's had a Screamin' Eagle torque cam put in it, the Screamin' Eagle auto-tuner, a better airbox, and new header pipes. All under warranty. It's not exactly a racing motorcycle. I've read some forums saying that there's a breather tube that can be adjusted and that'll stop the leak, but that just seems like it's masking the problem. It's not catastrophic oil loss or anything like that, it's just a bit concerning. My 15 year old Honda hasn't leaked any fluids since the day I bought it. From what I've seen from the Goldwing flat 6 over the years, all I hear is people singing its praises for being a smooth, well-built, relaible engine. As much as I like to tinker, I'd rather spend my time riding than working on/worrying about bike maintenance. Finally, the brand image. Harley vs. Honda. Harley is almost more of a lifestyle than it is a motorcycle manufacturer in my opinion. Don't get me wrong! They make really cool motorcycles! I jokingly call my Honda Shadow a "mini Road King". I always thought a White on Black Road King or now one of the new 2024 model-year Road Glides would look killer! But, for better or for worse, Harley Davidson has an image associated with it and unfortunately, it's not particularly an image I like. When I hear "Harley Davidson riders", I think of old guys with a bunch of tatoos, smoking cigarettes in a bar, not wearing any gear while riding, trying to look hard/cool because they have fragile egos. Is this always true? Aboslutely not! But that's just what I associate with Harley. Probably doesn't help that I had a neighbor with a Harley who'd start it, rev it a bunch, then turn it off right across from my old apartment. I guess it could've been any motorcycle, but it just left a bad taste in my mouth. Honda on the other hand has an overwhelmingly positive image in my experience. Reliable and well-built motorcycles with riders, who are in general, very friendly people. They are like the Toyota/Lexus of the motorcycle industry. Might not have the most up-to-date tech, but they're bulletproof and comfortable. This is accentuated with the culture around the Goldwing. When I think of Goldwing riders, I think of people who live in a nice neighborhood, meet up with their friends at a local gas station to go riding somewhere for the weekend (I guess that's not too unique to Goldwings, but it's what I think of nevertheless), are well mannered, and wear full gear. Is this perception true ALL of the time? Of course not! But it is the image I associate with Goldwings/Honda. I am training to be a professional pilot and my ulimate goal is to fly internationally with a major airline in the next 10 years. There isn't much leniency with regards to breaking the law (aka opening up the throttle a bit too much) or even associating with the wrong crowds when it comes to hiring with the airlines. Anything remotely negative you've done can be a reason not to hire you. The Honda Goldwing is not only the better motorcycle, in my opinion, but it also doesn't come with the negative image associated with Harley Davidson. I love the styling of Harley motorcycles, but the culture is just off-putting to me. Don't get me wrong! I bleed red white and blue and consider myself very fortunate to be living in this great country! I feel like a lot of people think that, "if you don't like Harley Davidson, then you're not a true American!". First off, I think that's a bit shallow, but secondly, I love American things! My dream car is a Superformance 427 Cobra. I guess technically that's a based off of a British thing with a big ol' American V8 engine shoved in it, but I digress. It was good enough for Carroll Shelby, so it's good enough for me haha! TLDR: How many words am I at now? Holy.... 1,355... I've written an essay. I guess I'll end with this then. I haven't ridden the Goldwing, but based on the videos, including yours, I've seen as well as my limited experience with Honda as a brand, it'll definitely be my next motorcycle. Great video and thanks for sharing your experience!
Your low tire pressure light is blinking. And changing the air filter is a total pain. The engineers need to figure out how to make it so you don't have to remove the whole top of the bike. And did I mention the paint scratches way too easy and so does the instrument cluster cover. There are quite a few minor things that could be improved but this bike is a stunningly good piece of kit.
First, congrats on hitting the 5k sub mark. Slow and steady kinda like the Goldwing. When I was a young rider I was one of those, if it ain't a Harley you're not riding a motorcycle. Oh how I was brainwashed, As I've grown much older and hopefully become more wiser. Now all I want is the reliability factor and I don't care what brand can deliver it. All I know is that every Goldwing I see on the road they are hauling tail and I get kinda jealous. They look awesome! Loved the video! Ride that Wing and stay safe ABUSA!
I give the thanks to your gorgeous Scout! Scout vids were me looking and listening to riders who owned one. So I could make a better decision to buy or not buy one for myself. You and your videos were a major deciding factor for me! Thanks ABUSA and have a Happy New Year!@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA
Jd still think the scout is a phenomenal and fun machine! always love riding mine! happy you enjoy yours as well! big rides ahead sir! Happy New Year !
I personally think the new versions of the Wing look fantastic. I am sure I’ll own one eventually. The only thing I find a bit of an issue is passenger comfort, and smaller storage capacity…
21:14 Rode HD Baggers for 31 yrs and Loved 21:14 em all. Got a used 2013 F6B four yrs ago and after a few rides I sold the Hog. Have put 80,000 mi on the F6B so far. Hoping to get a 2025 50th Anniversary DCT Tour next yr. Ride On!!!
Great video. I rode a 2019 blue tour dct, I made a slite error while waiting at a red lite, i hit the Mode and went into sport mode to see how it worked. Lite changed n i was doin 45 mph through the inter section, what a thrill that was. I WAS SOLD. I searched for weeks into months trying to find a 2021 BD . I found my bike at a dealership 30 miles from me put down a deposit and rode it home on my next day off a week later, in the rain.... i have enjoyed this bike more than any other big big i have ever owned. I have ridden a lot of motorcycles over the years from my 1st harley to my k1200 bmw lt. All the nay sayers are wrong.... this IS the best bike ever. I remember a few years ago goldwing riders crying about only having a 5 speed, Now the manual comes with 6 gears or the dct 7 speed trans. True NO bike is perfect, But the Honda Goldwing comes very close. I have made over $ 3,500. In what i call farkleing but 90% are for safety, n the rest for MY comfort. Makes it MY perfect bike. I DONT care what others say . Really They dont know what they are missing. For me and thousdands of other converted goldwing riders its the only way to go... Oh and this is my second wing. Had an 81, 13 yrs ago... Turtle...
Test rode one yesterday never been on one before got back to dealers in Blackpool England, traded in my triumph rally pro, picking up the wing tomorrow can’t wait fantastic bike like nothing else I’ve ever ridden or owned and I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 30yrs
All bikes have good and not so good points. The rider/buyer needs to decide how well the bike they are considering meets their use cases. Goldwing riders do get a fair amount of anti-wing bias from other brand riders. For me, all bikes are cool. The more important things are how you treat your fellow riders and the larger rider community. Stay safe and keep the shiny side up!
I got the 24 DCT non-tour; the dark green one. Got it a week ago. And I only have 1 regret; That is that I didn’t get one sooner. Love this bike. I developed sensitivity issues with my feet that cause problems shifting. The DCT has motivated me again about riding. Can’t wait to put some miles on it this summer.
Just going back to your DCT comment about don't speak about it if you haven't tried it... Absolutely right! October 2015 I took the NC 750X out for a ride and enjoyed it. The salesman said take out the DCT and ran me through how it worked, I did say to him, I'll be back in 10 minutes. An hour later I rolled back in with the biggest smile on my face and bought a brand new one there and then, took delivery in November. I still have it, but the Goldwing bagger is my ultimate purchase which will come in a few years. Thank you for your content, I just happened across it! I'm now subscribed, don't cock it up ;)
First and foremost I am a Goldwing owner and I LOVE my '96 Goldwing. You air have a BEAUTIFUL bike. The only thin I don't like about it though others is no comfort for a passenger. Meaning they can't sit back and relax. For a single person who doesn't ride with anyone, your bike is perfect. For better or worse(🤣) I have a wife and she really doesn't know how to ride so our version fits us perfectly. I took her out on my brand new Aprilia rs 660 and she almost fell off twice. But you bike is a thing of beauty. Let the haters hate! ✊🏾👏🏾👍🏾✌🏾😁
DCT isn’t something I think of as a “pro”, but I don’t think of it as a “con” either. I think I would prefer a clutch, but I’ve been on an Africa Twin DCT, and it was a blast to ride!! The idea of needing to prove anything because I have a clutch and shift lever is behind me. (I guess you could say I’ve grown up😂)
Watched your video a little late but.... You asked what people think of the Goldwing. I currently ride an FZ-10. If you're not familiar, it's a FANTASTIC naked bike that's a blast to ride. I have found myself watching many vids on the '18+ Goldwings. I know one will be my next bike... Whether I keep my Yamaha and get one or sell and get one. I've had interest in an F6B until I discovered the 2018+ model years. I've never ridden one but look forward to doing so. I think it's a great looking bike. Thanks for the video!
Hard to beat a Goldwing. I've previously owned Indian Pursuit, Challenger, Chieftain Elite, Roadmaster and now have a 2023 Springfield I purchased a few months ago. Since I wanted variety in what I drive, I also traded my Indian Vintage on a 2024 Pearl White Goldwing Tour DCT. This will be my 3rd Goldwing and the best by far.
@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA I was blessed to have a very successful business that allowed me to own these bikes. I do have a question for you regarding the road sofa seat. I'm 5'6" with a 29" inseam. Does that seat place you lower on the bike than the stock seat? By the way, you have a beautiful wing!
@@brianleiva4346 it's more narrow for sure and i feel it does place you slightly lower my inseam is 32/33 and i have quite a bend in my knee thanks for the compliment!
Bought a Pearl Brown 2018 Goldwing bagger with a manual when I retired. Sometimes wish I had got the DCT when I have to maneuver the bike backward or slowly forward in a tight space, but do love shifting a manual, so no great regret. Performance and comfort are amazing. Came off of a BMW R1200R: that sounded like a sewing machine; in comparison, the wing sounds great. Looking forward to riding season in NY.
I have a 2017 HD Street Glide and a new 024 DCT GW Tour- I love both- 2 very different bikes. I will say after riding the wing my corners are tighter with the Streetglide- It enhanced my riding skills. its nice to have variety alternate days of what i ride when
That is one good looking Motorcycle, That is why I own one. I really like Your seat.I have added Kuryakyn floorboards as well as the hand Grips and highway pegs along with the engine crash guards. For me personally the technology was what really sold me on the bike. Maintenance on the bike is a breeze with the exception of changing the air filter. I think that the sound that comes out of this engine is absolutely amazing, is it loud No , But it sure sounds good when you get it wound up. I solved the storage issue buy buying a tour bag that sits nicely between the the tour pack and backrest. There are aftermarket tourpack and saddle bag doors that are color matched to Your particular year model bike that will allow for more storage, but the bag serves the purpose just fine.
I would like to add a positive note to the reliability aspect . I bought a 2002 Goldwing in November 2022 with 7800 original miles from a friend who's uncle pasted away. Both unfortunately and fortunately I have only been able to ride it for a couple of months because when I brought it to my local dealer for an oil change and a "go-over" they found recall work that had not been done to my bike. The dealer made those repairs free of charge. Further more they also under "warranty" re-welded the frame from the factory recall back in the day. So from my point of view it is very rare to find anyone or any manufacturer who would stand behind a product of any kind that is this old. And, I give the dealer a lot of praise for doing the same. Now I cannot give a fair comparison because I have not ridden any of the other "bagger-style" motorcycles but because of my short amount of experience so far with Honda I would definitely consider another Gold Wing.... if my wife would allow it!
Great video, Brother. All valid points, and most of them are as you stated subjective. I think I mentioned this and some of your other videos but I’m a 54-year-old 40+ bike owner over the years and my next bike will be a Goldwing. And it will be my first Goldwing currently on an Indian challenger 2020 dark horse.
I bought the 2023 DCT F6B in April and I just put my 10,000th mile on it on Christmas day and I really love it. For those of you on the fence, if you think you will like a Goldwing will probably end up loving it!!
I have a 2002 Goldwing GL1800A. I love the bike and getting ready to sell. It is all black and in beautiful shape. I have rode Harleys, get tired of the noise. BMW's are nice but the Gold wing is so much better. My first wing was a 1200. W I needful bike 2. A friend had the 1800 for sale and I could not turn it down. I did lay it down on a curve on HWY 12 in Idaho area of Lolo Pass to miss a deer. The bike ended up in the borrow pit up right after sliding in its side. Ground down the crash bars but did not do any other damage. I am replacing them for safety. I only skinned up my hands because I did not have the right kind of gloves on. Got on the Bike and rode it on over to Sidney Montana. About 700 miles. I love the way it rides. Quiet with more power than you will ever use.
I dunno about the sound complaints. Listening to you ride the bike in this video, I think it sounds pretty cool. I’m about 57 years old and appreciate bikes that are a little more quiet, while my son prefers the “louder than hell” sound of triumph triples with unrestricted exhaust.
Dealers not working on 10 yr old Goldwing is not even a small problem with me. I do my own maintenance, even the dreaded air filter swap, and for bigger issues (not that I’ve had any), there is a great independent shop 30 min away with mechanics who know Goldwings better than any dealer.
Lots of folks complain about the seat. I've put 53K on my 21' in a year and a half. Maintenance... It's not that bad. Take your time and be organized. The DCT. It's phenomenal. It makes 16 hour days in the saddle more enjoyable. Overall, my Goldwing is the nicest vehicle I've ever owned. One of the best things is, lately when my friend's bikes are in the shop, I'm out somewhere in the middle of nowhere on the road.
My first bike was a scooter, a red 250 Honda Reflex. I just put my deposit on a 2023 red DCT Goldwing. Full circle, I feel like Honda and myself are both maturing. That Reflex was a delight and I'm sure this will be too!
I have a 21 bagger much like yours but a 6 speed, no reverse or heated seat. I bought it new and have 40,000 + miles on it. I also love it to death. I’ve never tried the DCT but would very much like to. Also I do believe that the 6 speed is available again on the 24 bagger. I know it wasn’t on the 22 or 23. One more thing I love the OEM seat so junk may have been a little to strong on your description. I guess it all depends on your body type.
awesome feedback! you are the first wing owner i've heard enjoy the stock seat, so that's very interesting to hear! i found it really uncomfortable after 80 mile point the saddlemen for me has been a god send. appreciate your point of view! thanks!
For the cons: I've found the GPS to be sub-par. My 12 year old VW Passat has a navigation system that is easier to use. I'm 6'5", I wish the mirrors were a little wider and I wish Honda offered a "tall boy" option for the seat that came with the GW. I also wish floorboards were an option available from Honda, right out of the box.
I'm also 6'5" and looking to pick up a 2024 Goldwing DCT Tour next week. I've looked for tall GW owners to get some insight on the GW comfort to no avail. Maybe you could share some of your thoughts into what mods a tall rider needs to do on a stock GW. Have you raised your handlebars? Custom seat (I read that the Corbin seat puts you back 2 inches which would be good)? Taller windscreen? Anything? I'd love to get your feedback.
@@timosaarelainen8431 - I'm fine with the handlebars as is, but I wouldn't mind if they were a little higher. 2 inches back on the Corbin seat sounds awesome! I will have to look into it. The taller windscreen is a MUST!! You will absolutely need it. My previous bike was a 2006 Suzuki Boulevard C50T and it took me about 3 - 4 rides to get used to the GW. If you can afford the Corbin seat, I would get it. I've put 10k miles on my GW this past year, and at the end of a long day of riding, the only thing on my body that hurts is my heels, which is due to the way my feet rest on the pegs (i got the bigger pegs, btw, I forgot to mention that), I'm guessing the Corbin seat being 2 inches further back would help.
I made some changes to my DCT Tour to fit my 6’5” 230lb self. Corbin seat sits me back 2” without giving up passenger space. Klock Werks 20” wind screen is same height as stock, but it has a recurve lip so I can keep it low and look over the top. Also put on highway pegs. Toured around the western U.S. and the bike is extremely ergo friendly.
It took me years to discover Honda’s DCT and now wonder why I hadn’t bought into it sooner? It is a marvel that Honda engineers dialed in the nuances and power delivery of a clutched manual without any of the drawbacks (jerkinessness, missed shifts, unexpected stalls, premature clutch wear, etc). Though I had read about the DCT technology in many articles and reviews, I had erroneously judged it as “gimmicky” and trendy tech. But then I bought an NM4 (Vultus) and my mind was blown 🤯! It’s Always in the right gear, never stalls, cannot pop wheelies, and makes me a better rider. The only “must-have” mod for myself was eliminating the right foot brake lever and installing the rear brake lever under the left hand … as bicycles and scooter have. Having levers under both hands feels more natural and safer for me. Otherwise, a DCT Goldwing is penultimate motorcycle ever made. May it live long and may I afford to own one someday before I get too old!
Love my Electra Glide. Love the Gold Wing I had before it. Never rode the latest model Goldwing but would love to sometime. Years ago Honda built a smaller bike with a DCT transmission I loved it. I am a retired truck driver the company I worked for started buying automatic transmissions. I kept my old truck because I did not want an automatic transmission. I took a new truck a couple of years before I retired just to try the new automatic transmission I liked it a lot better than I ever thought I would. The point is don't knock something till you've tried it. Be careful, ride safe.
I just bought an 1986 Honda gold wing interstate. It runs really good for 38 years old, it has 28,040 original miles. I think the gold wing is the best motorcycle ever manufactured in the history of motorcycle manufacturing, I you keep up with all the maintenance on time, the gold wing has been known to go over 400,000 + miles before it needs a rebuild. That's how well made the gold wing engine is made. You will not find a better motorcycle.
I have not been on a 2018+ Goldwing, but I’ve had three during my riding career. I am currently riding a 2010, I had a 93, and before that an 85. I agree, the reliability is just phenomenal, and the athleticism of these bikes is amazing!! The Sport bike in a touring package is a fantastic description!!
My friend has 350,000 miles on his older model. He has a 2022 as well but has kept his old gen 4 as well. They are built to last if you service them regularly and use good oils etc.
I think u would really like the f4 customs 20 inch tinted windshield it’s one of the best mods I’ve done to mine however I gotta get that heated seat u have 😂
2025 checking and goldwings are being recalled for a bolt that locks the rear tire when it breaks. Also a fuel pump recall and software issue since this video posted. Thanks
@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA It is fun to post updates on old videos. The bolt was a big deal so worthy of mention. Odd for honda to make such a mistake as well. My old st1300 had that weird wobble but only when fully loaded and the windscreen up. It was a bit freaky as the frame seemed to float side to side very slightly and get wobbly. I see why police took them out of service. My point is honda makes errors but full rear lock up is something nobody is ready for only survive. Again worth a mention Thanks!
Have you loaded any custom Maps into this navigation system? Ability to pre plan trips and custom routes, usually off main highways, is something that's important and usually done on a computer then transfered to the bike. Have you done this yet and if so, is it Idiot proof, as it should be?
I rode Harley's 40 years before my first Goldwing in 2013. First Goldwing DCT 2018 and now 2023 Goldwing Tour DCT.I have customized the 2023 with taller adjustable SST HELI handle bars,Corbin seat and moved the rear trunk back several inches so the girlfriend has more comfy room.Added lots of Led lights front and rear...I ride daily with Harley riders so I get to hear them as I always did.I hang at the Harley dealer with them, drink their coffee, eat their donuts while they get their several hundred dollar services done...Me I put regular octane gas,buy my oil at wally world or the auto parts store for oil to do my oil change for less than a 100 bucks... Did I tell you I love DCT....
I have the same bike and you’re right about everything you said.I really enjoy your videos so keep them comin. For all the nay sayers out there, don’t knock it til you try it😂I do have to bring up one though your highway pegs r on backwards the taped end is meant to b opposite of where you have to now to give u more ground clearance. Peace n happy new years to everyone
Sorry I meant tapered there’s only one thing that I don’t hear many complaints about that was irritating to me was the grips. There just not a big enough diameter. I put the goldstrick grips on mine and there way better than stock
yes the highway pegs came that way when i got the bike, never changed em bc it just didn't bother me enough lol but thank you for letting me know and your time watching!
@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA Nice review. Certainly more comfortable to ride in the cold and rain than my Z900RS. You answered one of my questions with the slow turn in the parking lot. Kinda figured you had to put it in manual and use the rear brake just have to be consistent with the throttle instead of the clutch. Love your videos. Had been really thinking of the Indian Pursuit but you may have changed my mind. Now if I can find a nice black one and upgrade the seat. Well, I need to find that $29k I misplaced but that is better than the $34k for the Indian.
I haven't been on one but am going to purchase one.I am flying into another state to get a real good deal on it.I live in Florida where they don't let you test ride ones that's why I am flying out!
That’s a good looking bike. I had one for a couple years as a second bike - ‘19 Tour DCT - thinking I was going to switch touring machines. I can agree with your list of pros and cons. That was a long test ride and in the end it wasn’t for me. The K bike may be the one, but it has its own issues. In the end, there’s no perfect motorcycle. Where are you located - looks like the rainy east coast somewhere.
So many ppl just hear and regurgitate the "Hondas have no character/soul" or "they're too good/refined" nonsense! 🤦🏽♂️ Honda has ALWAYS and continues to make some of the best bikes in the world! AND, I own a DCT and manual bike. It takes a little getting used to but once u do, it's awesome!
A little late, but here's my opinions on what you covered. Center of Gravity: I've only experienced this bike parked. But the weight is so low I'd buy one tomorrow if I could. My CTX1300 weighs less but has a higher center of gravity. Storage/Trunk: The stock trunk would be good if I had a rider. But I'd prefer something that doesn't have the arm rests. I'd rather have a luggage rack and an aftermarket rider backrest to strap on my backpack. Maintenance: It is a pain to deal with all the plastics. It takes me an hour to change the air filter on my CTX1300, which is similar to the Wing in that regard. DCT vs Clutch: No one can shift as efficiently as the computer. And if you like shifting yourself, get the optional DCT foot shifter and use manual mode. I've done plenty of shifting and am ready to give it up. Sound? If you like the rumble of v-twins, don't get a flat six. I'm riding a V4 now and don't miss the sound or noise of a v-twin. Goldwing too pricey? Look again: All of these are 2024 model MSRP. HD Road Glide Limited or Ultra Limited $32,499 BMW K1600 Grand America $28,130 Goldwing Tour DCT $29,700 Goldwing Tour manual trans $28,700 Goldwing DCT non tour $25,700 Belly Plate: It costs $13000+ to replace the engine case if you crack it. GET. THE. BELLY. PLATE!! There are a few different engine case guards out there. Some more robust and mounted better than others. Check out a 3min video by Traxxion Dynamics (Oct, 3, 2023) to see what happens if you don't or do use an engine guard. Looks/Character of the Wing: It's a Goldwing! Not a V-twin, get over it. The Wing is a class of its own. I can't stand the looks of a BMW twin, with those cylinders stuck out the sides. So if you want a "real bike", get what you consider a "real bike". A "real bike" rider took his "real bike" into the shop. All they had for a loaner was a Goldwing. He was so impressed by the handling and comfort he switched. As another RUclips bike reviewer has said. (Paraphrasing) You Really need to try out the other manufacturers before making judgement on something you've never ridden. BMW vs Goldwing engine: You want more power, get a BMW IMO. Pegs vs Floorboards: I prefer floorboards. No Maintenance after 10 years? There are HD dealers who won't work on 10+ year old bikes. Scooter Tramp Scotty has pointed that out I believe. There are good mechanics out there who don't work for stealerships.
@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA I'm looking at a couple different bikes and the 2 at the top of the list are the black ones with the blue on top. Only thing is I can't decide if I love the look or absolutely HATE it 😅 like there's no in between. Just depend on the day 😂😂😂
Own a Street Glide with 1,500 miles on it As we speak, it’s in the shop for the THIRD time, check online light and error code, possible valve issues. I am so done with Harley, and starting to really consider getting a GW!
I bought one for Christmas for myself last year. After a year of riding this bike I can't imagine owning another bike for daily riding. It is amazing in every way including it being the second fastest bike I ever owned only being second to a 1976 Kawsaki Z1B900. I am a disabled vet that owned a 2005 Road King, almost had my left leg blown off from the knee down. It got to the point I was having a hard time shifting because of pain and lack of mobility so this bike saved me from being sidelined. I will say before I bought my Road King I owned 3 different Goldwings including the very first model a 1977 and a 1982. Always reliable, never broke down and comfortable ride just like this model. Where ever I go people love the bike including bike week in Phoenix last year. My wife rides a 700CTX DCT so when we rolled into bike week with all the Harly's we really attracted alot of attention(positive)because of how different they were from everyone else.
This bike is absolutely beautiful ten times better than what it used to look like.. It looks like a sport touring now. I love it.
agreed !!!!
Thanks for sharing!
Guess ya never rode a Concours 10 or 14? The unintentional Touring King of the Road?
@@anonimous2451 tremendous machine! love kawasaki ! had a few! have a Z 900 at moment
Goldwing is like a Tesla Plaid and the CVO is a Hellcat, both are fun for different reasons.
great explanation! thanks for watching!
I'd have to reply back. How many old person bikes accelerate this fast?
And, exactly why do I need a clutch handle? Or, I DO have a clutch. Two clutches to be specific.
Why 🤔 is so many's goldwing having engine work on the mc from 2010 -2023 question mark ❓ I was thinking about buying one
@@waynehollins1193 haven't seen any in my circles getting any work done
Good answer from someone who has. Both
Love my 2022 GW Tour..and...I am 74...reduced weight of bike and low center if gravity make it very manageable.
I like the look of many bikes but it all comes down to what fits you the best.
well said
I was a bit younger when I wanted my first new motorcycle back in 1999. I ended up getting a new Honda Valkyrie and still have it to this day. I pull out the now antique Valkyrie for a ride and it’s still outperforming every bike in the group in stock form. I added a new KLR to the garage last year and do enjoy most of my riding with fuel injection but still. Once in a while I pull out the Valkyrie and open up 6 cylinders attached to 6 carburetors and my need for speed has been satisfied for a while.
that's awesome 😎
Fantastic review and informative , I thank you for your integrity, what a machine, have a great day
@@alhub8167 thanks 🙏🏽
I traded my limited on one last year. Part of the reason I bought it was because it was different. After three Harleys in a row. I found it to be refreshing. I love it.
Love your videos. I've wanted a Goldwing for decades and finally made a dream come true this December. A brand new 2024 green bagger DCT is waiting for me and for warmer weather, at my local Honda dealer. Watching your videos allows me to vicariously enjoy my new bike through your rides - thank you. Btw, I'm in Ontario Canada and it'll be March before the weather improves enough to take my wing home and start riding again. 🎉
this alot for watching James and congrats on your amazing new wing!!! you'll LOVE it !!!!
****thanks
I've been in the bike business 24 yrs now and I can say for a fact, the people who scream NO have actually never ridden one. It's in a class of its own.
great endorsement!
Amen to that.
I’ve been on Ultras since 1990 and 220,000 miles. I rode a 2021 DCT in 21, and I’ve been trying to get one ever since. When I find the right deal, my 2012 FLHTK is history. The new GW is way more than just the DCT. Like the OP said, “Ride if before you blast it”.
yeah buddy
Currently I ride a 2017 dyna Street Bob, but I would totally rock a Goldwing
street bob super fun ride !
@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA anything two wheels is so fun folks get caught up in scene type stuff but in my opinion they are all fun
Just love my 2023 DCT Tour... after 20 years on a VTX1800... it is a step up and I just love the bike !! My 1 year review is coming up soon.
congested!
*****congrats 🍾!!!!!
I have the base DCT (matte blue),
wicked looking bike, compliments all the time! LOL
one more thing, I did update mine with back rests, for comfort on long rides. and passenger for the wife, to keep her on the bike.
heh
and a rack, on trips to the dragon and to Arkansas, I use a large trip bag and strap it to the rack perfect!! I have taken 3 long trips on this bike in the last 2 years and its awesome, my 2016 was more comfortable i think but this one likes the backroads. its quiet and fast. and really quite good on gas. sometimes over 268 miles.
tremendous feedback! thanks for taking the time to share!
Maybe in a couple years I'll switch back up to a Goldwing
nice !
Something like yours would be great.
wow! thanks so much for sharing!! glad the videos could provide some inspiration to get you back on 2 wheels and enjoying the open road ✌🏽
Just put a deposit down on a 23 wing today pick up in 3 weeks cant wait ,thanks for your help !!
glad you could get some info from my videos ! good luck with the new wing!
In my opinion AB, you are sitting on the best all around motorcycle made. Honda screams reliability. I owned many other Honda's in my time, bulletproof. I would also mention the Eas ability of removing the rear wheel on the Wing. Excellent video.....
thanks Mike !
I would ❤this bike 😊
Great video and thanks for sharing your experience!
spectacular detail and feedback! thanks for sharing ! welcome to the open road my friend !
I'm sorry, could you please repeat that?? 😂😂
Just kidding, very well said. Have fun, ride safe, and hopefully we'll see you on the road sometime...
Your low tire pressure light is blinking. And changing the air filter is a total pain. The engineers need to figure out how to make it so you don't have to remove the whole top of the bike. And did I mention the paint scratches way too easy and so does the instrument cluster cover. There are quite a few minor things that could be improved but this bike is a stunningly good piece of kit.
yes, TPMS light went off, i had just finished putting air in them thanks 🙏🏽
First, congrats on hitting the 5k sub mark. Slow and steady kinda like the Goldwing. When I was a young rider I was one of those, if it ain't a Harley you're not riding a motorcycle. Oh how I was brainwashed, As I've grown much older and hopefully become more wiser. Now all I want is the reliability factor and I don't care what brand can deliver it. All I know is that every Goldwing I see on the road they are hauling tail and I get kinda jealous. They look awesome! Loved the video! Ride that Wing and stay safe ABUSA!
thanks Jd!
thanks for being one of the original subs!!
I think it looks cool AF 🙌🏻
I personally think the new versions of the Wing look fantastic. I am sure I’ll own one eventually. The only thing I find a bit of an issue is passenger comfort, and smaller storage capacity…
it's tremendous !
I met a couple last summer on a new Wing. The wife said this new generation is sooo much better than the last. It's a much smoother ride for her.
@@gregorytubbs3444 it's super smooth!
@@gregorytubbs3444 I’ve heard the same! I’m looking forward to getting one eventually!!
Great video brother and you make a good argument for people to consider a GW. Glad to see you are enjoying the bike. HNY
thanks man! same to you !
Ride On!!!
awesome 😎
Turtle...
excellent!
Test rode one yesterday never been on one before got back to dealers in Blackpool England, traded in my triumph rally pro, picking up the wing tomorrow can’t wait fantastic bike like nothing else I’ve ever ridden or owned and I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 30yrs
wow! now that's commitment!!! congratulations 🎈
Stay safe and keep the shiny side up!
agreed !!!!
I got the 24 DCT non-tour; the dark green one. Got it a week ago. And I only have 1 regret; That is that I didn’t get one sooner. Love this bike. I developed sensitivity issues with my feet that cause problems shifting. The DCT has motivated me again about riding. Can’t wait to put some miles on it this summer.
congrats!
I'm now subscribed, don't cock it up ;)
thanks for subscribing! great comment as well!
always have the touring pack model which provides tons of wife support ! thanks for the kind words ! 💪🏽
(I guess you could say I’ve grown up😂)
400th comment here. I hope everyone is able to enjoy the Gold Wing they love the most, as these bikes are amazing!!
thanks for sharing !
I love the Goldwing! Even HD will not work on a bike after 10 years
Watched your video a little late but.... Thanks for the video!
thanks for stopping by! you currently have an super fun bike for sure and you'll love the wing!
This will be my 3rd Goldwing and the best by far.
wow! you've had quite the collection! great
perspective!
@@brianleiva4346 it's more narrow for sure and i feel it does place you slightly lower
my inseam is 32/33 and i have quite
a bend in my knee
thanks for the compliment!
Looking forward to riding season in NY.
nice !
Caitlin Clarke loves this motorcycle!
that’s excellent!
I love the look of the bike
I have a 2017 HD Street Glide and a new 024 DCT GW Tour- I love both- 2 very different bikes. I will say after riding the wing my corners are tighter with the Streetglide- It enhanced my riding skills. its nice to have variety alternate days of what i ride when
nailed it! agree with you 100000000 percent !
There are aftermarket tourpack and saddle bag doors that are color matched to Your particular year model bike that will allow for more storage, but the bag serves the purpose just fine.
agree the bag meets all the needs for sure !
What crash bars did you get? And wha😢 highway pegs?
Now I cannot give a fair comparison because I have not ridden any of the other "bagger-style" motorcycles but because of my short amount of experience so far with Honda I would definitely consider another Gold Wing.... if my wife would allow it!
that's amazing!
One of the best bikes I’ve ridden 🤙💯
def a fun one !
Beautiful bike🔥🔥🔥
thanks 🙏🏽
Great video, Brother. All valid points, and most of them are as you stated subjective. I think I mentioned this and some of your other videos but I’m a 54-year-old 40+ bike owner over the years and my next bike will be a Goldwing. And it will be my first Goldwing currently on an Indian challenger 2020 dark horse.
dark horse is a great one ! thanks for sharing!
I bought the 2023 DCT F6B in April and I just put my 10,000th mile on it on Christmas day and I really love it. For those of you on the fence, if you think you will like a Goldwing will probably end up loving it!!
facts
I own a 2019 DCT and love it. I also own 4 other bikes including a Harley and the wing is 100% my long distance bike
awesome 😎
I’m about 57 years old and appreciate bikes that are a little more quiet, while my son prefers the “louder than hell” sound of triumph triples with unrestricted exhaust.
sounds about right !
Goldwing is a Motorcycle. End of debate. Lot of information. Great video
Dealers not working on 10 yr old Goldwing is not even a small problem with me. I do my own maintenance, even the dreaded air filter swap, and for bigger issues (not that I’ve had any), there is a great independent shop 30 min away with mechanics who know Goldwings better than any dealer.
awesome!
Totally agree the stock Nav is just fine (and also think the complaint about Apple Car Play is very valid)
Love it hope its my next bike in 2024 !!
One of the best things is, lately when my friend's bikes are in the shop, I'm out somewhere in the middle of nowhere on the road.
sounds good! seat was my biggest problem, but easy fix!
My first bike was a scooter, a red 250 Honda Reflex. I just put my deposit on a 2023 red DCT Goldwing. Full circle, I feel like Honda and myself are both maturing. That Reflex was a delight and I'm sure this will be too!
congrats 🎈
Dude, great video! If I were to buy in 2024 I would be right with you on a Wing. Great video my friend.
I appreciate that!
What highway pegs did you go with. Like the location, but can’t place the brand. Greta video, tanks for the context.
brand is Gold Strike love em
I have a 21 bagger much like yours but a 6 speed, no reverse or heated seat. I bought it new and have 40,000 + miles on it. I also love it to death. I’ve never tried the DCT but would very much like to. Also I do believe that the 6 speed is available again on the 24 bagger. I know it wasn’t on the 22 or 23. One more thing I love the OEM seat so junk may have been a little to strong on your description. I guess it all depends on your body type.
awesome feedback! you are the first wing owner i've heard enjoy the stock seat, so that's very interesting to hear! i found it really uncomfortable after 80 mile point
the saddlemen for me has been a god send.
appreciate your point of view! thanks!
not sure on the ‘23 or ‘24 models but full Manual transmission IS available on the base model 2021 as I own one .. was also available on 2018-20
For the cons: I've found the GPS to be sub-par.
May it live long and may I afford to own one someday before I get too old!
awesome!
Be careful, ride safe.
great comment 🙏🏽
Did you laugh at other truckers holding their foot on clutch in traffic jams?
@@SteveRenn never, not me.😂😆
I just bought an 1986 Honda gold wing interstate. You will not find a better motorcycle.
definitely an engineering marvel !
It’s a beautiful bike!!👍🏻🇺🇸⭐️
I have not been on a 2018+ Goldwing, but I’ve had three during my riding career. I am currently riding a 2010, I had a 93, and before that an 85. 2025 checking and goldwings are being recalled for a bolt that locks the rear tire when it breaks.
Also a fuel pump recall and software issue since this video posted.
Thanks
mine was clear on the recall. thanks for the info 👍🏼
@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA
It is fun to post updates on old videos.
Again worth a mention
Thanks!
Very nice bikes
Goldwing is the most reliable an best bike ever made for touring hands down 320k an still good as ever 👍🏿💯
amazing!!!!
Have you loaded any custom Maps into this navigation system? Ability to pre plan trips and custom routes, usually off main highways, is something that's important and usually done on a computer then transfered to the bike. Have you done this yet and if so, is it Idiot proof, as it should be?
I have not
I rode Harley's 40 years before my first Goldwing in 2013. Did I tell you I love DCT....
lol my man!
I absolutely love mine. Miss certain parts of Harley but I will not be going back from the DCT

Well, I need to find that $29k I misplaced but that is better than the $34k for the Indian.
thanks so much for your time!
Great bike, I wish they would come out with a quick release trunk though. So I could ride as a bagger without it if I want.
That would be cool!
Shad makes a nice one.

Can't wait to buy my DCT
So many ppl just hear and regurgitate the "Hondas have no character/soul" or "they're too good/refined" nonsense! 🤦🏽♂️ Honda has ALWAYS and continues to make some of the best bikes in the world! AND, I own a DCT and manual bike. It takes a little getting used to but once u do, it's awesome!
agreed
A little late, but here's my opinions on what you covered.
Center of Gravity:
I've only experienced this bike parked. But the weight is so low I'd buy one tomorrow if I could. My CTX1300 weighs less but has a higher center of gravity.
Storage/Trunk:
The stock trunk would be good if I had a rider. But I'd prefer something that doesn't have the arm rests. I'd rather have a luggage rack and an aftermarket rider backrest to strap on my backpack.
Maintenance:
It is a pain to deal with all the plastics. It takes me an hour to change the air filter on my CTX1300, which is similar to the Wing in that regard.
DCT vs Clutch:
No one can shift as efficiently as the computer.
Look again:
All of these are 2024 model MSRP.
HD Road Glide Limited or Ultra Limited $32,499
BMW K1600 Grand America $28,130
Goldwing Tour DCT $29,700
Goldwing Tour manual trans $28,700
Goldwing DCT non tour $25,700
Belly Plate:
It costs $13000+ to replace the engine case if you crack it. GET. THE. BELLY. PLATE!!
There are a few different engine case guards out there. Some more robust and mounted better than others. Check out a 3min video by Traxxion Dynamics (Oct, 3, 2023) to see what happens if you don't or do use an engine guard.
Looks/Character of the Wing:
It's a Goldwing!
BMW vs Goldwing engine:
You want more power, get a BMW IMO.
Pegs vs Floorboards:
I prefer floorboards.
No Maintenance after 10 years?
There are HD dealers who won't work on 10+ year old bikes. Scooter Tramp Scotty has pointed that out I believe. There are good mechanics out there who don't work for stealerships.
awesome feedback! thank you !
@@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA you put a lot of time into these videos. The least I could do is give a proper response when you asked.

funny, i had the 1700 and went to the wing for same reason! try something different!
@ANONYMOUSBIKERUSA I'm looking at a couple different bikes and the 2 at the top of the list are the black ones with the blue on top. Only thing is I can't decide if I love the look or absolutely HATE it 😅 like there's no in between. Just depend on the day 😂😂😂

sorry to hear! Frustrating for sure ! The wing is mega reliable for sure and sport mode is phenomenal.
GW looks awesome since 1984. No matter the model, spec, colour, or milage.
My wife rides a 700CTX DCT so when we rolled into bike week with all the Harly's we really attracted alot of attention(positive)because of how different they were from everyone else.
fantastic feedback!
Love it
