Nice review Jason. I wouldn't want something like that on my back either, so the AP battery could be beneficial. Thanks for the review. Stay safe. 👍👍👍👍👍👍🇺🇸
another top review Jason. like yourself wouldn't fancy the backpack battery sort of defeats the object . its a beast of a battery cutter though & the higher cutting speed is a bonus.👍👍
Thanks mate, the top speed is quick, can do conifer trim with it, no problem, but need a steady hand, it's a real cutting machine, the 30" would be awesome 😀👍👍
Cheers mate, it's a beast of a machine, think you use backpack battery, I mostly use a ap, which I found the cable stayed close to my hip and didn't really catch, but a great cutter 👍👍
It's really nice using the battery hedge trimmer/cutter and not breathing in all the c... p, and not deafening the customer all day, plus no start up, just press a button, honestly try and get a demo machine, a good day to day trimmer is the hla65 or 66 now, lighter too, I love my 2 stroke tools, but they are dirty thing. Take care mate 👍
I understand that as a planet we need to switch to better ways of living, battery over petrol in this instance but In nor 100% convinced yet on battery tools. I dont feel they beat petrol for stamina or ease of use as batteries need swapping, batteries may be heavier or you might need one on your back. I'm still open minded though and may just buy one when my next purchase is due. I currently run the stihl combi unit and long read hedge cutter attachment and their chainsaw attachment. Oh I also have one of their chainsaws too lol
Once you get into your set up with the addition of an extension pole between your combi and the tool shaft you may really appreciate a battery machine for the reduction in weight, especially on hedge tops.
Honestly mate, I was same, before trying battery, battery definitely has the power and range, you need to configure the battery's to your needs, as different batteries, weight and range, definitely try and get a demo machine, thing you will be surprised. Take care mate 👍👍
38mm cut on a battery hedgecutter? Nah no chance. Oh, it cuts through everything. I really have changed my outlook on battery powered stuff. Great review.
Thanks mate, it's really surprising how powerful the battery kit is, would recommend to anyone, to get and try a domo machine, really a great kit Take care mate 👍
Finally decided to bite the bullet snd got meself the new 130 R model, have a bunch of hedgework saved up. I also ordered one of the Henchman tripod ladders too. Both of these i got because of you and your videos. Very good reviews. The ladders are amazing and i feel so much more safe standing on them in comparison to the old wobbly sh*tes i got😅
Excellent & practical review (and no pointless music...which is very refreshing!) I'm tempted to get this machine for my gardening work. It's just the cable which bothers me. Did it ever feel like it got in the way when it was connected up to the AP battery belt holster?
Looks like a solid machine, will probably buy when my hs82's break down. My only concern would be the cable when you have to move your ladder, do you have to unplug it? I think the ap accu will be good for trimming and easier for your back. I did look for the kma130 or kma135 as i already have the attachments but not sure if the runtimes are long enough for my use, especially on the blower and weedeater.
I really can't comment on moving ladders as stihl doesn't recommend using ladders and I have to follow manufacturers guidelines in video. The kma135 looks pretty good and personally think a great entry machine, if looking to go to battery, if you have attachments. Take care mate 👍
Dont know about you but I like to define shrubs/hedges where they are growing adjacent to one another. Makes for a crisp and tidy look but does mean that I end up squeezing in some tight spaces and changing the trimmer from hand to hand. Can you do that easily with the umbilical or do you have to somehow pass the machine behind your back if you need to change hands? I know that the km135r is released here in June which will take the AP batteries in the power head, unlike the current model, so I'm hoping that Stihl will make the same change to the hsa 94 machines. That umbilical is the only thing which really puts me off. Nice review mate, although they really should have sent you a 94t so we could see how it does in the hands of someone over here with real conifer skills.....cheers 👍
Someone suggested I run a promotion on Facebook, to try and get more hedge cutting customer's this year. Not sure what kind of offer / promotion would be suitable though. Have you ever done that sort of thing in the past Jason?
I don't do fb business, so can't really say if a promotion would work. Google my business, post regularly, up to date regularly too, push hedge cutting service on it. Think at least 1 and 2 seasons ahead, so in spring, plan and push summer/autumn work 👍
It really is down to, budget, what is your main needs and something that really gets forgotten is, your transport/van, in general the GTM range looks pretty good 6.5, 9, 13 hp. 👍👍
The backpack is great, but with this hedge cutter, the smaller battery on belt was far better, honestly I really didn't notice or feel the cable. But fully understand where your coming from, I was the same, but the pros outweigh the cons, once you try one. Take care mate 👍👍
@@jasongardener3425 Thanks for that, electric does seem to be the way forward and if a cable means a lighter machine. That's food for thought! Perhaps I was 'hedging' my bets!
No way for me.. That battery pack.. A no no.. Petrol for me.. At least you can fix them.. Those batteries won't last my opinion.. What battery does.. How would those yokes work in damp condition s..
Thanks Jason great video just placed my order for mine the 30 inch version . You got me hooked on stihl now 👏
That has got to be the best video ive seen of this model getting put through its paces mate great video 💪🏼🍃🍃
Thanks mate, hope the weather is improving and get them jd out soon 👍👍
Nice trimmer and great honest review Jason✂️🍃👌🏼

Thanks Neusa, with the ap battery, you can hardly feel its there, hope things are going well your way and staying safe 👍👍
Good video. You answered what I wanted to know that it can also be used for finer trimming which makes it more useful.
Thanks mate, glad it was helpful and answered the questions.

A very versatile machine, that top speed looks very fast. The longer bar would probably suit myself. Good review Jason. 👍
Thanks mate, the top speed is quick, can do conifer trim with it, no problem, but need a steady hand, it's a real cutting machine, the 30" would be awesome

Great review mate. As you know I love mine. Nice to see you with one. Sometimes the wire gets snagged on hedges but overall they’re great.

@@jasongardener3425 I do use the backpack mainly yes, glad you’re pleased with the machine mate.
Im considering changing to a battery powered unit, as you've said before, move with the times, no exhaust to breath in and much quieter.
Am the same. I cut the other day and could smell the fumes on myself. That alone is swinging it for me

Saying all that I've just ordered a 4 stroke GTS 600 chipper. 🤔
And due to covid and Brexit...I have a 4 week wait before I get it. 😬
Have you purchased both the r and t and if so do you use them all the time or just use the hla 66.

Do you still use it now Jason I’m looking at the 130 hsa with AP holster are they decent run times using a 300

That swivel handle looks fantastic. Unit looks solid. Did you find you had to squeeze the front handle harder when tilted on its side?
It's a very smooth machine, even on its side, only need a gentle touch, really comfortable it use, it's surprisingly powerful.

Yep ive got ap battery in a small bacckpack then change it out with another ap 300. Very good but not on ya waist. Cheers
That was Nice I Like it!!!!
It does the job, but I wouldn't fancy what looks like a cumbersome backpack or going back to using a hedge-cutter with a cable

I need to test one before I’m sold getting anything out of my dealer is like pulling teeth 🤣

I would recommend a demo, but it's a beast of a cutter, if you have garden mate, using same dealer, see if you all can twist dealers arm,👍
Rent one.
Looks a good cutter, but I really don't like the cable at all. No no for me.
Honestly, after you get started, you can't feel the cable, I forgot it was there, its a cracking cutter, I didn't want to give it back 😁👍

It's not for everyone, pretty much 80% of the time I used the cutter, it was raining and no problems 👍
When opinions are held onto in the face of disproving facts, they begin to look like prejudice.
