OMG HEIR BY SABAA IS ON MY TBR TOO GIRL!!!!! literally when we have the same taste in fantasy I LOOOVEEE. tell me why no one i know has read the entirety of the ember in the ashes series!!!!! fucking underrated ya fantasy fr.
I have gotten more into fantasy over the past two years and the first half of 2025 is going to be a big one for me. I have plans to read Stormlight Archive, First Law trilogy, Farseer trilogy, Book of the Ancestor trilogy, and The Aurelian Cycle. Cannot wait!!
Also, since I neglected to answer the actual question from your video 😂 my priority reads for the rest of the year are One Dark Window, The Winners by Backman, and The Sword of Kaigen (I read Blood Over Bright Haven earlier this year and loved it).
My december tbr is pretty much just finishing the books I’m in the middle of… I have a tendency to get halfway through a book and then lowkey forget about it lol
I told myself that, other than preorders, I wasn't going to buy more physical books until I had made a dent in my Kindle tbr. But that didn't happen lol, so now I have new physical books, plus preorders that come out this month and next. So, my priorities are: Husky & His White Cat Shizun vol 7 (new release), Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish vol 3, Case Files of Jeweler Richard vol 9, Sword of the Demon Hunter vol 1-7, Japan Emerging, Remnants of Filth vol 5, The Lost Story, and, if I can get to it, Namaah's Kiss. On my kindle TBR: A Bloom in Winter, the Beloved, SOS Hotel: Final Resting Place, and Scripting Suicide in Japan.
Hild was amazing, I really enjoyed it and I hope you get around to it soon! It was one of those books that got me back into/obsessed with reading. It has the level of character development/complexity that I love where the description of Hild’s interior dialogue is perfectly balanced with the development of the plot/politics while also being set in a super vibey/scenic time period.
While totally appreciating that you need to get to Wind and Truth, and your bookclub picks, and your Christmas romance, I would definitely recommend not leaving it too long before The Book that Broke the World. I only had about a two-month gap between books 1 and 2, and I was already starting to forget plot details by the time I picked book 2 up! The refresher at the beginning of it helped, but not completely! Although I'll definitely be forgetting things again while waiting for book 3... 🤷♀🤣
Other than Wind and Truth, I'm just trying to finish up Empire of the Vampire, and read The Fury of the Gods. THEN...I'm getting to all the books I started and soft dnf'd or forgot I was reading this year haha. I wish us both the best reading month yet!
I love Erin A Craig's books and I picked The Thirteenth Child as well. It should be coming in the next day or two and I'm so excited. I contemplated also getting The Most Wonderful Crime, but decided it wasn't something I absolutely needed to own. Holiday Romance sounds fun.
I didn’t have the time to do my Stormlight reread so I’m gonna have to delay Wind and Truth until next year 😭 in good news it means I’ve got plenty of time to take really good notes. Also I do agree, read Fugitive Telemetry first. Network Effect and System Collapse are both following the same plot line and it might feel disjointed to read FT in the middle. Otherwise my priorities for the end of the year are Blood Over Bright Haven, a reread of Area X to then read Absolution, and Empire of Silence.
I have Wind & Truth, Weyward, and Heir on my TBR too! I wanted to reread the Stormlight Archive series before Wind & Truth arrives, but I didn't have time to read them. I loved An Ember in the Ashes series. I gave all four books four stars. The number of books that I want to get through by the end of December is ridiculous. 😊
So many good ones here!! Can’t wait for Wind and Truth, although I’m still working through Rhythm of War so unfortunately I won’t be getting to book 5 right away, haha. I have so many priority reads that I just won’t be able to get to but I’m definitely planning to finish Rhythm of War, and then read Two Twisted Crowns, The Winners, The Christmas Tree Farm, Shady Hollow, Can’t Spell Treason Without Tea, and we’ll see from there!
For Martha Wells books you should definitely read them in chronological order, whether it's the Murderbot or the Raksura series. For Murderbot you should read the novellas first, and then read Network Effect and System Collapse together because the latter takes place immediately after the end of the former. 🤖💖
I also recommend reading book 6 before Network Effect (book 5) in the Murderbot series. It's chronologically correct and I found it a little jarring the other way around
I'm not a Romance reader but I am reading The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year right now from the library and it's a fun holiday read! I should finish it in the next day or so.😊
I would love if you read any of the Bindery books that came out. I think all four of them would be to your liking. I just bought And the Sky Bleed but haven't started reading it yet.
My strong opinion for Murderbot is definitely 6 before 5+7 I've reread them all about 5 times in the last 18 months and on all my rereads that's my order
I have read the Rivers of London in November and unfortunately it did not work for me. I do not think I will be continuing the series. I found the characters very thinly drawn. The main character was continuously comment ting on women appearances and his desires towards them. I found it a bit too juvenile, which was a huge disappointment since I was really excited about the series.
For years I tried everything to manifest money with no success. Then I read Hidden Manifestation and everything just clicked. This book is on another level.
i love the space in the back ready for wind and truth
Would love a video looking back on your monthly TBRs to see what you ended up reading

I loved The Thirteenth Child. Read it nonstop and I hope you love it too.

I just finished A Little Hatred TODAY and omg it was the best one yet. I think you’re gonna love it!!!

Holiday Romance sounds so cute!
I love Murderbot. And I've read the Rivers of London. I liked the audiobook for it.
Heir is so effing good!!!! That’s all, I just loved that book so much
The Book that Broke the World and Heir are both SO GOOD! I'm excited to see what you think of them 🤍❄

I also desperately need to read The Book That Broke the World, especially since I just saw the cover reveal for the last book!

Holiday is adorable and so funny!
I want to read the thirteenth child so badly! I love Erin m Craig!
I also recommend reading book 6 before Network Effect (book 5) in the Murderbot series. It's chronologically correct and I found it a little jarring the other way around

There are SO many highly anticipated books coming out 2025 so I’m trying to read all my backlog but I don’t think I can. Unless I stop sleeping…🤔
Weyward I had to DNF which is very rare for me- I am very interested to see what you think as I always enjoy your book reviews xx
Just read Nettle & Bone and A Sorceress comes to call!
a bit random, but do we know where the amazing red sweater is from?
all of them ended up on my wishlist after the video 😂😂
I never been this early!!!!!!
Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki shows how to break free, but most people don’t even try
My strong opinion for Murderbot is definitely 6 before 5+7
I've reread them all about 5 times in the last 18 months and on all my rereads that's my order
trusting this over Magnetic Aura by Takeshi Mizuki? no wonder the same cycles keep happening

I recommend everyone to find the book titled The Elite Society's Money Manifestation, It changed my life
For years I tried everything to manifest money with no success. Then I read Hidden Manifestation and everything just clicked. This book is on another level.
