    Now that is thinking outside the box. Saves table space allowing more parts to be set up for next operation, speed is money. a method to mount soft jaws for second and third set up would be a good option to incorporate into jaw design.

    Looks like a good vise, but what I don't exactly like, is how the jaw is two piece setup. Rigidity must be lost a little bit somewhere.

      Not really. These vises are extremely well made. The self centering aspect is ideal for machining on 5 axis mills. Most machine shops that do 5 axis machining use these vises, including us.

    Geezus, was that lathe footage sped up? It just took giant chunks like it was nothing.

      I don't think so. It's aluminum for the thumb screw. It cuts pretty quick on machines like this.

      @AlMg1SiCu 5 лет назад

      Nope, you can take MASSIVE cuts in softer materials given a sufficiently rigid machine and setup. Running similar cut parameters now on my CNC lathe. 20HP goes a long way in Aluminum.

      @@AlMg1SiCu lol 40 HP MORI does the same in steels

      I spent 6 months as an assistant operator on a big (220 ton workpiece) lathe and the chips coming off it during roughing were probably half the size of that vice

    hmm 5th axis is not grinding their product? not buying 200 vices from them anymore.

      all tolerance surfaces are grinded, but the tv show forgot to film it :)

      5 axis vices not need grinding. Lang technik also not grinding vices but grinding precision Point plates.

      if you cant see that they are ground, you have no business here.

      They're products are made by morons anyway. You're better off paying full price and getting what you paid for by anybody else really.

    • @gredangeo
      @gredangeo 4 года назад +1

      @@3markaw The drawing is protected anyways. But you do need a few overall specifications so that you can model it, for your programming. Your tools have to know where the vise is, to not hit it.
