Some sunscreens claim they reflect the UVA/UVB instead of absorbing, in that case they won't appear black on UV camera. A better test would be to apply sunscreens on a thin transparent sheet and see if the UV rays pass through.

@somil9635 it's not. uv camera cannot measure how powerful a sunscreen is. It can only show u the black color to see if you have covered your face correctly. Simple.
@@somil9635she is right, what the camera is measuring is if u light is absorbed or not. Chemical based ones absorb and mineral based ones reflect, so the mineral ones would seem like they are ineffective
The white cast in sunscreens is because of the the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide UV filters which are white in colour by nature not because of the companies adding white colour to it a few years ago sunscreens with these filters gave ghost like white cast to people in all the countries but now because of hybrid sunscreens it is possible to reduce the white cast of these UV filters
Correct!! And sunscreens with zinc oxide and titanium dioxide cannot be visualized with UV photography.
UV look camera can help you to check the ultraviolet and sunscreen protection. You can see how much sunscreen coverage are getting on the face, which skin are not coverage the sun cream.
"the derma co" sunscreen was giving proer UV protection on the camera as well as no white cast but still it is in category 2 while the more expensive ones are in category 1. Kinda confusing. Interesting thing is that (Dr. sheth, Mamaearth, The derma co) these all are from the same parent brand "Honasa Consumer Limited".

Note: Both Aqualogica and The Derma Co. are from the same parent brand as I've mentioned before in the main comment.
@@sst4714 derma co..... I am using it and it's magical pta hi nhh chlta face p kuch lgaya h...... I have Neutrogena sunscreen too but I feel it's sticky on my face and not meant for oily skin or I have to apply very less quantity so that it won't be feel greecy

To be ohnest !! He told ki you have to look for pa+++ or more right? But his own damn good sunscreen doesn't has that its just with spf 50+ and he also doesn't discloses all his ingredients in the sunscreen....you literally can trust no one!!!!🙏

Also the ingredients mentioned in the site are only organic , which I can bet is not genuine, he is not the manufacturer and not the chemical engineer who knows what is in the product , actually they purchase from some other agency and ask them to add some features/chemicals so as to test them on specific benchmarks .....not the real test as it is only for chemical not for mineral sunscreen which reflect UV

The light colored sunscreams are miniral sunscream, They do not absorb, rather reflect. Thus do not show as black as chemical sunscream in the UV camera.. its just hilarious to see a youtuber with such high subs to spread misinformation.

uv camera is not the best way to compare coverage for physical sunscreens ( ones which give white cast) as they scatter uv rays away from body rather than absorbing them

But what about the broad spectrum sun screen? That protects you from UVA and UVB. Someone already did an expriment on this with proper controlled, indipendent and dependant veriables. So this has many flaws, as almost any SPF helps

I used neutrogena sunscreen and it stinged my eyes so bad plus it made me feel like my skin was on fire My eyes turned red and watery and it was a horrible experience. I never used it again. Now, I wanna add that I am not saying that it's a good brand or not It might suit some people but not me . Neutrogena ultra light is a chemical sunscreen and it didn't suit me but I've used hybrid ones and it does suit me so please keep in mind and do your own research that which type of sunscreen suits you .

first of all a uv camera is not a way to measure uv protection. there are proper scientific ways.
it only shows the proper and even applycation.
most importantly different sunscreens work differently, the darkness in the camera is because some sunscreen absorb uv rays and some reflect. not darkening is no way that sunscreen is not working.
