    The eye of the heart or the eye of the soul. When translated to Latin it was replaced by intellectus and thus became associated with the mind and brain.

      It is the same concept, the 'all seeing eye' or the omnipresent force of universal consciousness.

      @beedeebee13 depending on the theology. The nous in the orthodox tradition is dependent on the Holy Trinity. It also must be kept clean, otherwise it perceives lies as true.
