I do not believe the vast majority of seasoned alcoholics care about social stigmas. I’ve met many who were known around town as fall down drunks but we’re initially embarrassed to be seen at an AA meeting.🤪 To try and say weather Republicans or Democrats are more tolerant of people who need help is stereotyping, irrelevant, and an outside issue.
When I was ready to go to any length to stay sober I didn’t care what sex, color, religion or political affiliation anybody was. I then learned our primary purposes to stay sober, and help another alcoholic.
