  • The Bhadra Dam is located on the Bhadra river a tributary to Tungabhadra river. Bhadra river rises at Samse in Western Ghats hill range (Kudremukh) and flows through the Bhadra Tiger Reserve and Wildlife Sanctuary. The Bhadra river meets the Tunga river at Koodli near Shivamogga (Karnataka). The combined river continues east as Tungabhadra a major tributary of the Krishna river which empties into the Bay of Bengal.
