    That's a cool piece of machinery! Thanks for saving it from the scrap heap! Once they're all gone we'll never have this great educational tool to show us how it was back then again.

    That brings back some memories of the Cat road grader we had. It was from the 1920's. It had mechanical levers to to manipulate the blade. If you took the blade to the ends of its range, the kickback force on the lever could hurt you. We would have 2 people operating it, because after a day of snow plowing you were beat up. A very physically demanding machine.

    • @BannerCap
      @BannerCap 4 года назад

      @Geo Thomas The levers were just part of the fun / I mean hazards of that beast. Just trying to get it started with the hand crank was just as much fun. I can't tell you how many times the engine would kickback while attempting to start it. My neighbor learned that lesson the hard way when it kicked back and the handle smacked him upside the face and broke his nose. There is a correct posture to use when hand starting an engine, fortunately I learned that lesson at his expense.

    That's SWEET! It does the job! A buddy of mine has an Adams made in the 50's. Still runs (4 -71) but needs brake work. He'll get it done and it'll go once more. All manual jaw clutches, either in or out like the old Cat #12's. Good Video and Good workmanship too!

      Dan Brunskill I totally agree, these kids should learn how to operate the equipment free of tech before completely relying on it.

      Dan Brunskill Unfortunately the bigger companies want production and won't let them develop an eye for grade and a bubble in their "seat" lol
