I don't want to be disrespectful, but for an individual like myself, who is "Jewish" by heritage or genealogy (Jewish grandparents), but who is not religious, or even consider himself as part of the Jewish community, it is extremely difficult to take Talmudic literatures seriously. There are quite a lot of texts in Talmudic literatures that contradict each others. Texts and commandments that are explicitly racist, while others state the exact opposite. It is the same if you listen to Rabbis, notorious rabbi Yitzhak Yosef compared peoples of color to monkeys, and he is not the only one. So what is truth in the Talmud?. Thank you.

I must admit, this topic made me feel uneasy. I’m Black, and I love Israel. I value Jewish history, language and scriptures, but despite all your sugar coating I know there is much racism within Judaism. I’m certain Moses was not racist, but that doesn’t mean his children are as pious. Obviously, Chief Rabbi Y Yosef hasn’t read the Talmud… he called us monkeys.
My understanding is that, according to the Talmud, Jews prior to the first century were neither white nor black. Their skin tone was likened to Sandalwood.
None of this really matters, but it’s trite to lightly brush off deeply rooted racism within one’s community.

Malcolm x wasn’t a religious leader, his opinions hold no sway on how “racist” black people are. A religious leader like a leading rabbi saying racist stuff has a much larger and potent influence on said religious community. A Jew hearing their rabbi say something racist is probably going to hold that belief themself, they’re hearing it from a figure of large authority.

If I may add, ancient distinctions between different tribes and nations used to be much more familial based. History has caused a good thing, that the array of peoples and colors have blended, and identities are based more so on conviction and belief. As we form contemporary attitudes, a religious person draws from the authority of ancient sources. While the Talmud (the oral tradition of Judaism) recognizes discrimination and biases, it does trace how humanity can mature towards healthy color blindness. Sometimes, we detect confusion, but we are always moving towards universal respect for all people.

You need to explain why Moses משה grew up and lived in Egypt מטזרים ("black Africa"). It took him forty years to realize and recognize his people, the Israelites בני ישראל, who had been in bondage for 400 years. If the Israelites בני ישראל resembled you, he would have stood out significantly in Africa and would have recognized his people immediately🤔.
If the Israelites בני ישראל looked like you, there would be no need for YHWH יהוה to make a distinction in the Torah תורה, as seen in Leviticus 11:7, which differentiates between the Israelites בני ישראל and the Egyptians המצרים (a so-called black African nation). According to your view, this distinction would have been unnecessary because the difference was already obvious🤔.
Additionally, during the time of Roman persecution, the tribes of Judah יהודה fled into Egypt מצרים (further into Africa) to escape the Romans. Why would they seek refuge in Africa if the Egyptians המצרים and the surrounding North and Northeast African regions (pre-Arab colonization) were black African nations? If the Israelites בני ישראל looked like you, seeking refuge in "black Africa" would have been illogical🤔.
Miriam's מרים anger at Moses משה for marrying a Cushite כושי woman was due to the prohibition against marrying outside the Israelite בני ישראל community, not because Cushites כושי were "black". The entire region, including the Philistines פלשתים (original Palestinians) and the Canaanites כנענים (another so-called black nation), consisted of "black" African people.
The land of Canaan כנען is part of the African continent. However, in 1869, Europeans created the Suez Canal, a man-made partition that separated Canaan כנען (modern-day Israel) from Africa. This new region, starting from the separated land of Canaan כנען and extending eastward, was reclassified as the "Middle East" in 1902 by the American geographer Thayer Mahan.

The Talmud sometimes has negative things to say about immoral pagans, but says many positive things about righteous gentiles, so much so that the Talmud states a learned gentile is even greater than the Jewish high priest (see Bava Kamma 38a). The word "goy" simply means a "nation" or a "people", and has no negative connotation. In fact, Israel is itself called a "goy" in the Torah (see Exodus 19:6), and in our Sabbath prayers we refer to ourselves as a "goy echad", meaning a "united nation".

Saying that it isn't racist is bizarre given that the whole thing is based on the divinely ordained supremacy of one particular race over all others, backed up by the torah. I don't know why you were raised by your family a certain way, but the "chosenness" of the Jewish people is not a matter of superiority. All human beings are made in God's Image. The Jewish people were chosen to bring more Godliness into a pagan world; to teach about morality, monotheism, and righteousness; and to be a "light unto the nations" as the Prophets say. (Besides, anyone can join us in undertaking this mission if they wish, so it has nothing to do with race or ethnicity). Therefore the Jews are condemned because they reject Christ. Christ was killed by his own people, and his message was taken up by Jewish converts and gentiles.

What it means to be Black! - Black Americans argue these points because we know and understand the mixtures of race on an intimate level that very few on the planet can understand. Also, America, and the Atlantic Slave Trade, has set the standard for what being Black is. So there are varying shades of Black, which probably would not have been categorized the same in that part of the World at that time as it has been here. But many of those people would have had to drink from the "Colored" water fountain if they were brought from Egypt in a time machine to 1930's America.
The standard for Blackness set here in the United States would have been CLEARLY met by many of the people of that time. Having one drop of Black/African blood in you would have been an easy standard to meet for many of the Hebrews. The chances that they would have met the standard for White is close to impossible.

Fallacious argument. The Bible does not say that Moses married a "Black" wife. It says he married an Ethiopian/Cushite wife. When European Jews try to restrict the presence of Black people in the Bible to being only when Cushites or Ethiopians are mentioned, it is not based on fact. Which means Moses could have been Black and his wife Black also. It could have been an issue based entirely on tribal or cultural issues.
It also makes much more sense if Miriam was punished for being Racist, that he would have turned her hand Black, if she was White. How does being more White make sense? Also, her hand being White would be more noticeable and more of a punishment if she was already Black.

Besides, phenicians, arabs, assirian, persians & other middle eastern peoples were white skin.
Why would be ancient hebrews Black? It's something made up in recent times in order to fit an agenda.
Hebrews being black skin is contrary to major evidence, so the burden of proof about this extraordinary claim is on who says it. That's how logic works.

They always quote Ham are black people, but if you look in the torah hamitic tribes ruled Mesopotamia, to the Levant, to the Greek Islands, to the Nile River. Therefore Semitic tribes had been living among and inter-marrying with hamites long before Abraham, also destroying that stupid race debate. Even if you look at the hebrew language, it's classified as a canaanite language under the afro-asiatic branch, making it a hamitic language and not Semitic. Thank you! People really mystify ancient civilizations as if they never travelled or married with those outside their tribe, including the Hebrews in the Bible. Next, I cannot remember the exact scripture but it was in the Old Testament. One the prophets had just received a revelation and the angel told him to gather everyone in the kingdom, including those who are native to land and those who are not. Jewish people like to argue the Bible/ God's word was always only for them and God never told them to evangelize yet that scripture proves three things: 1. That is completely false. God always told his people to spread his word. In the Old Testament, it was locally and today, it is globally. 2. The Hebrew language was not reserved for the Hebrew Israelites as obviously people could understand it if God told prophets to gather everyone together to share this new revelation. 3. The Hebrew Israelites always lived amongst a diversity of people and those people weren't always necessarily Pagan. Many were God fearing people, too!

Achi, I want to address an important point you raised. You mentioned that Moshe (Moses) wasn’t Black, but let me share some historical context. I’m an African Orthodox Jew, and sadly, many rabbis don’t have the benefit of a broader education in general history and anthropology.
As an African, speaking from the perspective of 1300 BCE, we have no historical records of Ashkenazi Jews being enslaved in Egypt-known in ancient times as Kemet. Specifically, the idea of Moshe being a White European prince in an African nation raises significant questions. Would the Kemites (Ancient Egyptians) have accepted a European, supposedly under the decree to be thrown into the Nile, to grow up, learn Egyptian spirituality, customs, and even their secret occult practices?
Herodotus, the Greek historian, noted that the first White people the Kemites encountered were Greeks and Macedonians, around 330 BCE. This historical context suggests that Europeans were not present in Egypt during Moshe’s time, which makes the idea of a White Moses in Kemet quite unlikely.
I encourage you, Achi, to explore broader historical sources to gain a fuller understanding of these narratives.
    Shalom, and blessings

He is a liar or quite possibly doesn't know. The Torah specifically talks about how, Abraham who is the Jewish Patriarch, goes to sleep with his fathers meaning we only get one life. It's also packed with verses that discourage Jewish people from associating with pagan nations who are the "other." A pagan is only accepted when he rejects his idolatrous ways and beliefs and turns to the One True Living God of Israel - but chief of the pagan beliefs is belief in reincarnation.
All this to say that the Talmud mostly deals with the life and after life experiences of the Jewish people - and so does not know what happens to Gentiles who are not converted to Judaism because they do not care. There's no such thing as a reincarnation so do not listen to him.
Also don't mean to come across as being a proselytizer but juxtapose what the Jewish people believe about the afterlife and the world to come - and what Christianity says about the eternal life and the world to come. The difference is the Talmud holds the claim of the supremacy of the Jewish people in this world and the next, and Christianity's founder who is Jesus who was a Jew and claims that He is Son of God holds that He came for all men (both Jew and non-Jew) to give them eternal life and that He has gone to His Father to prepare a place for all of us who would believe in His goodness so this guy cannot know the answer.
However, the Book of Jonah in the Torah (Old Testament) can give an insight. God doesn't hold people accountable for sin who do not know the Law and so cannot tell their right hand from their left if they have set their hearts to do good and not willfully commit evil - this is Jonah 4:1-11 in the New International Version:
Jonah’s Anger at the Lord’s Compassion
1 But to Jonah this seemed very wrong, and he became angry.
2 He prayed to the Lord, “Isn’t this what I said, Lord, when I was still at home? That is what I tried to forestall by fleeing to Tarshish. I knew that you are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity.
3 Now, Lord, take away my life, for it is better for me to die than to live.”
4 But the Lord replied, “Is it right for you to be angry?”
5 Jonah had gone out and sat down at a place east of the city. There he made himself a shelter, sat in its shade and waited to see what would happen to the city.
6 Then the Lord God provided a leafy plant a and made it grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was very happy about the plant.
7 But at dawn the next day God provided a worm, which chewed the plant so that it withered.
8 When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die, and said, “It would be better for me to die than to live.”
9 But God said to Jonah, “Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”
“It is,” he said. “And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”
10 But the Lord said, “You have been concerned about this plant, though you did not tend it or make it grow. It sprang up overnight and died overnight.
11 And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left-and also many animals?”

Why not? I'm not sure what exactly is troubling you about Sanhedrin 52b, but I assume your issue with Yevamot 60b is a classic misunderstanding commonly parrotted in antisemitic texts about the case of the three year old. The Talmud is not saying anything there about marrying a three year old. The Talmud is discussing who a Jewish priest is allowed to marry. The Torah clearly forbids a priest from marrying a Jewish convert. He is only allowed to marry a natural-born Jewess. The Talmud brings a rule that if a woman converted to Judaism when she was still a girl, under age three, then the priest would be allowed to marry her (not when she is three, but when she reaches maturity and is ready to get married). In other words, a girl who was converted to Judaism before age 3 is not considered a Jewish convert, but is treated like a natural-born Jew. A priest would be allowed to marry such a person.

Therefore it is incorrect to reference Numbers 12:1 to claim Miriam questioned Moses for marrying a black woman. They all were Black! Miriam actually questioned Moses about marrying someone outside of the Hebrew tribe. Similarly, Amos 9:7 is not proof that the biblical Hebrews were white. In that scripture, The Most High gives examples of a few people groups (He didn't mention all people on the earth) to tell Israel that He created everyone, even people in other tribes!

Black ppl are the only ones that fit the curses and the geography at that time. Following all the bloodlines through history you can find out who most ppl were and now are in the Bible. And it’s prophecied the truth will start coming out and the true ppl will start waking up again to who they are. The chosen ppl are black and were cursed and taken over by gentiles for a period of time before to l theGod of Israel returns to redeem them. We know the ashkenazi and Europeans are the isles of the gentiles and stole and colonized all the original ppls lands so it only makes sense. The Jews that are Jews now never lost their heritage so hv nothing to wake up from therefore they must be the ones that say they are Jews but are not.

    WHO ARE THE GENTILES?
EUROPE IS GENTILE LANDS, WHITE SKINNED PEOPLE ARE GENTILES (GENESIS 10:1-4)
Gen 10:2 "The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
Gen 10:3 And the sons of Gomer; Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
Gen 10:4 And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
Gen 10:5 By these were the isles of the Gentiles divided in their lands; every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations."
Gentile dominion ending with the return of Christ. In Revelation 11:2, John indicates that Jerusalem will be under Gentile rule, even though the temple has been restored. The armies of the Beast are destroyed by the Lord in Revelation 19:17-19, just before the millennial reign of Christ is initiated.
Jesus spoke of the Times of the Gentiles in Luke 21:24, saying, “And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.”
Looking again at Luke 21:24, we see that Jesus mentions a time in which Jerusalem is under the dominion of Gentile authority.
Romans 11:25 gives us a hint as to God’s purpose in the times of the Gentiles: the spread of the gospel throughout the whole world. The organization and inventions of the pagan world powers have actually aided the evangelism of the world. For example, in the first century, it was the widespread use of the Greek language and the network of Roman roads that allowed many people in far-off lands to hear the gospel.
One theme of Romans 11 is that, when the Jewish people rejected Christ, they were temporarily cut off from the blessings of a relationship with God. As a result, the gospel was given to the Gentiles, and they gladly received it. This partial hardening of heart for Israel doesn’t preclude individual Jews from being saved, but it prevents the nation from accepting Christ as Messiah until His plans are finished. When the time is right, God will restore the entire nation, and they will come to faith in Him once again, ending “the times of the Gentiles” (Isaiah 17:7; 62:11-12; Romans 11:26).
Though The "Jew-ish" have regain the land in 1948 and control of Jerusalem in 1967, the Times of the Gentiles continue to this day.
    WHO IS 'TRUE' ISRAEL?
According to the Old Testament Bible, the Language of the Israelites is called "Yehudit", the language of Judah (2Kings 18:26; Isa 36:11; Neh. 13:24; 2Chron. 32:18) and "Shephat Ken'an (literally: lip of Canaan) "Language Of Canaan ; Isa. 19:18) The name 'Hebrew ivrit does not appear in the Old Testament.
Aramaic is called Syriack (Dan. 2:4 and 'Syrian language' (2 Kings 18:26; Ezra 4:7; Isa 26:11) in the KJV Bible previous Old Testament scholars called the Aramaic language Chaldean. Hebrew and Aramaic are Afro-Asiatic languages! Bantu is the true etymological origin of Afro-Asiatic languages.
Russian linguist Eliezer Ben-Yehuda (1858-?1922) invented Modern Hebrew.
Itamar Ben-Avi 31 July 1882 - 8 April 1943) was the first native speaker of Hebrew in modern times.
    1.“Edom is Modern Jewry.”
    (The Jewish Encyclopedia,1925 edition, vol. 5, p. 41)
2."Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a ‘Jew’ or to call a contemporary Jew an ‘Israelite’ or a ‘Hebrew.’” (The Jewish Almanac, Compiled and Edited by Richard Siegel and Carl Rheins (New York: Bantam Books, 1980) p. 3.)
3."Modern Jews are not even Israelites; they have no relation to Jesus at all. Modern Ashkenazi (or Yiddish) Jews are, in fact, primarily descended from a Turkic people, known as the Khazars.
    4. Hebrews 12:[16] Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
[17] For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was REJECTED: for he found NO PLACE OF REPENTANCE, though he sought it carefully with tears.

Facts are Abraham was a Chaldean which meant he was a member of a Black African Hamite - Cushite empire!!! Abraham's family MOVED into the region of Ur of the Chadeans which was a BLACK AFRICAN REGION AT THAT TIME,(Abraham translates to "Great Black Father") 'Linguistics and DNA studies have shown that Abraham and his ancestors were Kushites whose cultural context was that of the Afro-Asiatic Dominion which extended from West Africa to India.
Ham was not cursed. Canaan was!!! The line of Judah goes thru a Canaanite woman!!!
No "Black skin curse in the Bible, but guess what is?
2 Kings 5 "25 But he went in, and stood before his master. And Elisha said unto him, Whence comest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy servant went no whither.
26 And he said unto him, Went not mine heart with thee, when the man turned again from his chariot to meet thee? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and oliveyards, and vineyards, and sheep, and oxen, and menservants, and maidservants?
27 The leprosy therefore of Naaman shall cleave unto thee, and unto thy seed for ever. And he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow."
    Num. 12 "
[10] And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
[11] And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned."
"Both Asshur the Younger and his brother Arpachsad are called "sons of Shem" because they belong to Shem's house, not to the house of their father Nimrod."
Here is a diagram showing Abraham's Kushite ancestry.

So, there is a question if he was actually Cushite, however even if Abraham's father's line was Shemite he also had Cushite blood from Nimrod.
Read in your bible to see that the Israelites were from Shem but were mixed with Black Egyptian, Cushites, Ethiopeans, and other Hamitic people throughout their(OUR), history! Paleo- Hebrew is an Afro-Asiatic language. This factor are the reason why Israel always went to Egypt to hide and for help!
Judah's line itself was that of Black/African Canaanite woman named Tamar! (Genesis 16; 21:21). The original arabs were Black/AfricanS."ARAB" SIMPLY MEANS "NOMADS"!
(Psalm 106:21-22; 78:51; 105:27).The Egyptians are identified in the Bible as Hamites/Khemites
(Ex. 1:5; 12:37-38).The Israelites went down into Black/Egypt a total of 70 and came out a MIXED MULTITUDE OF OVER 600.000, So verifying that the Hebrews were African/Kushite in stock, color, appearance.
    (Ex. 2:19)
Also Moses was described by the daughters of Jethro as a BLACK/EGYPTIAN!
ABOUT THE ANCIENT EGYPTIANS - The original Egyptians are Hamite brothers to Cushites, Canaanites, and other Black skinned Africans. The Greeks recorded the appearance of all peoples of "Africa" (which included parts of the so called by the British "Middle East"), were Black people!! The genealogical chart in Genesis 10 lists Ham/Khem as the father of Africans and from Africans came Egypt, Canaanites, Babylon, Persia, Kushites/Nubians. (Jewish writings admit Ham was "Black as a raven".)
Thoughout the Biblical record the Israelites mixed and intermarried Black Hamites. Point is who ever and where ever they are today, the people genetically descended from the Israelites of the Bible have Black DNA,
Israelites were described as being “black”,
    “black to the bone”,
    “blacker than a coal”,
    “black as an oven”,
    “black unto the ground”,
    being “black faced”, (NOT BOXWOOD)
    AND,
Intermarried though out their early history with African people,
Moved beyond “The Rivers Of “Cush” or “Ethopia”, (West Africa) and
Were taken by strangers aboard ships as slaves to the four corners of the world?
"Jacob's face shall never pale", (dual meaning)
