the issue is its not how skilled you are what degree u got its walking into a job interview and they take 1 look at you and its already over i struggle with mental illness and depression and i always wanted to work with computers but who the hell wants to make accommodations for someone that they can just hire and not need to worry about accessibility for there computers or certain use cases im so sorry but there isnt a 80 percent unemployment rate for no reason sure people say if you try enough or if your not so lazy or keep at it it will happen or those blind people with jobs or even good jobs say to you try harder ya that doesnt help sure i could maybe get a minimum wage job in a super market that i could get fired at any time but the government understands that people with disabilities need a steady income i have other medical issues besides eye issues what do i do when i get fired wait 5 years and hope i get hired somewhere or do i take ssdi so i can pay for food and the basic needs sorry for rant maybe its a crazy way of thinking but this is the major reason i believe in the community most blind or visualy impaired people i know in the community are not working
