There's something about this song that sounds good with the sound of the audience singing along being quite noticeable, especially in the chorus. I wish they'd play older songs more often.
Yep. Coincidentally though, there happens to be an actual place called Christie Road where I am. I didn’t realize how old this comment was as I typed that, so sorry for this!
I was fortunate enough to catch this when it aired. This video unleashed so much nostalgia for me. This song is so incredibly good! Honestly, they could update & re-release this as a new single. Half the fans wouldn't notice, and the other half wouldn't mind. This is one of their best songs and possibly one of the best rock songs in general.
Totally, man! Kerplunk is simply amazing! I would also buy it! By the way, I'm making ukulele covers of some Kerplunk songs, including Christie Road, take a look on my channel if you want to hear a bit :D
Will do! I love ukulele music. I've got a rock band called Slackline that you might be interested in as well, facebook.com/slacklinemusic No worries though! Be well!
i adore this song, i remember watching this on TV 4 years ago, and then after collecting the albums i got Kerplunk and recognized the song. now it reminds me of my boyfriend, unfortunately lol. but i love every part of this song
Love it! Its so great that they're playing some of their older stuff on their 21st Century Breakdown tour - I soooo hope they play Only of You when I see them in December :)
i love green day. i know i wasnt there when they first came out...cuz i was just a baby. but if i was and had the enough money i go to everyone of the tours they are an amazying band...oh and this song rocks.
man i remember when i was 16 years old back in pinole,Ca in 92' i had the kerplunk cassette i would just sit in my empty room and i'd sit on the floor and listen to this till the tape was worn out i knew how to play ever song back when NO ONE knew about green day they were local and completely off the map they really meant something to me some thing some of us kids around town could call our own now everybody knows them and tarnishing there name even 6 year olds are into them old memories now
I've only been listening to Green Day for about 6 years but when I started with the whole American Idiot phenomenon, it made me look to their older music which i love more than anything. I have Dookie on vinyl and I plan on getting Kerplunk soon
wow, love this song :) just noticed, the bit at the end before they go back into the "mother stay out of my way.." sounds kind of like the start of smells like teen spirit! not saying that's a bad thing, atually it's pretty cool, i just never noticed it before
You're absolutely right. I shouldn't be getting mad at anybody right now. It's just that I hate the fact that people don't even care about older Green Day anymore.
woah. when i was like 3 or 4 years old, my parents would let me watch green day on youtube, and i remember finding a live performance of christie road, a song that i hadnt heard before, and liked it. i remember my parents could never find it again, but im pretty sure this is the video from what little i remember
this is just so amazing...actually amazing isn't a word to describe to this song...there are no words to describe it!!(: GREEN DAY FAN FOR LIFE!!!!((((:
great song of the best band :) i really love beatles, nirvana, guns, mettalica and other perfect bands but when i listen gd, ist for me something more :) and i really hope to gd came to Slovakia :) sry for my english
@APUNKRoCKA Technically speaking no, the first album Tre was on drums for was Kerplunk (before dooki), however he was officially part of the band before that.
It's because the majority of Green Day fans today didn't start listening to them until they heard songs off of American Idiot, and they thought that Green Day was all about what they sound like on American Idiot. But they're not at all. They used to be all about growing up, smoking weed, and the San Francisco Bay Area. And now, people think they're "Canadians who hate America" because of the song that gave them so much success.
When he said "Christie Road", I got the chills.
There's something about this song that sounds good with the sound of the audience singing along being quite noticeable, especially in the chorus. I wish they'd play older songs more often.
This song always takes me to my personal Christie Road. Amazing!

Yep. Coincidentally though, there happens to be an actual place called Christie Road where I am. I didn’t realize how old this comment was as I typed that, so sorry for this!
