As someone who is learning special right triangles in 10th geometry, you’re the first person I’ve seen that actually explains the meaning behind these patterns! It’s always “do this”, or “do that”, but it was never explained WHY. Thanks so much, this cleared so much things for me!!
Wow, thank you so much- that's the best feedback I could hope for. My goal with all of my videos (and my teaching) is to help students understand the math, rather than just try to memorize. Thanks so much for letting me know it helped you out 😄
I am eternally grateful to you. I was so stressed and confused by these problems, I was on the verge of a breakdown. I have a math final tomorrow, and I am planning to study all night. My teacher did not explain this well, neither did my tutor, or the videos on khan academy! But you explained it so well, and now i am able to understand how to do it. thank you so much

Thank you for taking the time to explain this.... some teachers forget the concept of actually taking the time to help someone internalize the material..... Keep making great videos, please......
Thank you so much! I do the best I can, when I was in school I didn't like math at all because it was taught with rules instead of a focus on understanding. My mission is to help the world see the beauty of math by helping people to understand instead of memorizing rules.
Thank you for clarifying special triangles in this video! Spent almost 30 hours trying to figure out how to solve and explain if the side lengths shown are possible. Used this video to "Reverse engineer" or check my answer to see if it was correct. Helped a bunch, thanks!
U solved the problem using a logical approach but skipped a few steps which had me stumped for a bit. Had to rewatch because the 1st time i kept thinking... "y r u complicatng things.. y skip steps".. so i back tracked a few seconds just to listen first n realized that u helped to understand how to solve it without the complicated process of actually working it or step by step. Thanks a million but.. im probably going to keep working the steps out completely until confident i won't forget any steps later on. Loved these tips!
Wow Ashley I love this comment because you demonstrate an essential skill of a good student. You identified someplace you were confused, you went back and rewatched (worked through your resources/problem again), and you were able to understand what was going on. If you keep doing that, you will find that once you really develop your understanding the "steps" will become unnecessary. That's what you want to work towards, because memorizing steps is hard. There will always be more steps and you can only memorize so many things. When you understand, you can figure it out when you need to, and math starts to make much more sense and becomes much easier. Good luck on your journey, and thanks for watching!

Literally watching an hour before my final quiz
I hope it helped 😀
This video really helped me. My mom bought me a workbook, but it makes no sense.
That's terrific, I'm glad you found it helpful 😄
You are a literal life saver!
Thanks so much! Glad it helped 😀
This helps me so much with online schooling I have to Learn it on my own thanks
You’re very welcome Caleb! I’m putting out new videos every week since so many of us are “distance learning” right now. Just put up pt. 5 of an ongoing trigonometry series.
Thank you so much for teaching this amazing subject I never learned before huge thank you to you
You're so very welcome 😄. There are many more videos on the channel, be sure to have a look around 👍
I really like the way you explained this!
what my geometry teacher made hard, you made simple, thank you!
Hooray! Thanks for letting me know, I'm glad it made sense for you 😄
For the x rad2=8 what happens if the hypotenuse is odd?? Would we still use that method?? 5:30
Sure- if you had xrad2 = 9 for example, then x would be 4.5(rad2) or (9rad2)/2
I like this way of explanation my teacher used a circle to teach us
Thanks so much! The unit circle is an important lens to understand special right triangles through, but it isn't necessarily the easiest way to introduce the topic. I'm glad you found the video helpful 😄
so much better than my teacher thank u so so much 💜
I'm so glad it helped you!
Sometimes just seeing something presented a different way is all you need. Thanks for commenting 😄
