Did anyone talk about that quote on the wall? No? Been checking the comments to see if anyone else noticed.. I hope that's your space, it says a lot about you. You've already gained my respect the 1st minute in..

Thanks for your time and explanation of the drawings and just a little bit about what it means to be a general contractor.
You’re welcome!
I learn a lot thanks master
Bruh.. did you just invent the "business dab".. I'm dead lmao
TOTALLY
RUclips pushed this video to me, I reckon it's due to I am also a licensed builder and structural engineer in Australia. Anyway, good to find your channel, it's of professional and informative content!
Hi Jesse. I really enjoyed this video. I'm a Awning / sign manufacturer and installer. I often have problems finding the details such as measurements and material types when it comes to the signage. This is crucial since this is required in order to properly quote jobs. Can you offer any suggestions?
This is very helpful! A few years back I was thrown into Construction. I used the Search option usually to find specifics when I'm asked, but sometimes plans I get are so sketchy that it's hard to follow sometimes. THANK YOU!
Hi Jesse I work for an engineering firm and I’m looking into obtaining my Gc license in the near future. I’m learning a lot from your videos! Keep up the good content!
I just started being an estimator at my job. These videos are helpful I think this stuff is going to take a while to get down
your the best Jess always wondered about it because I worked as a labourer for owner/quantity surveyor/supervisor in his home build renovation lot there man but he was like yourself very articulate and professional one more new subscriber friend.
Yay!
Jesse, very informative. Have a question regarding finishes. How does a person just starting out figure out what areas need painting? For example, new millwork. Do they plans tell you or is this a question for the GC? Along these lines, is there a method from looking at the plans to figure out wall lengths and height?
Very good video! Can you do one explaining your approach and method for pricing one of those projects? How did you win the project and how did you get to the price to win it.
You probably should ask for his most favorite fishing hole or hunting spot while your at it.
Excellent overview of the design process from an "earthbound" perspective. Many architects come from the liberal arts world!
And throw their weight around sneering at those 'beneath' them
Great work. Please do more in depth video's about commercial blueprint reading and all aspects of a superintendents job responsibilities to keep a job on time and on buget, thank you sir you are very informative. And, if I get the job I will be Soo thankful for your tutilage.
Bryan, tell me where can we utilize civil drafting?hope you reply ☺
Hi Jesse. My problem is counting stairs for big buildings (commercial) Do you have a video or a suggestion on how i can learn properly counting?
Thanks for the great info! :) Do you think you can do a video diving into fire-rated walls, glass, etc?
Im getting ready to take blueprint test on just the Painting part. Im a painter. Could u rec a video that focuses on ghe as far as blueprints plse. I watched your vid and it was great. Just feel like i need something more. Like figuring square footage if the ceiling is 9.3 or 12 ft ect
Thanks for the video...starting carpenters apprenticeship soon👌
Solid
Great video, very very good explanation for basic understanding which is the most important to get everything else right. Thank you so much
You're very welcome!
Awesome Tutorial
Good job Jesse. A suggestion would be to do a structural drawing review. Let me know if you need a mechanical (or MEP) engineer to give input on their decision making.
This is incredible thank you! Transitioning from accounting to project manager at my job with no experience but tons of willingness to learn! Thank you Jesse!
I'm here for a transition too!! Good luck!
Wow im making the change aswell from Accounting to QS. Good to know people from diff industries are aswell.
@@abbeyhickmann8344 good luck to you as well :)
@@greylynn-snakevenom113glc7 good luck :)
@@lindsaylively8459 Yup def going to need it, especially given the current climate of the times at the moment.
Excellent video
Excellent Video- I’m returning to Commercial ground ups after 20 years. Great refresher! Do you have any schedule videos? Haha!
Hey Jessie great video very informative. I have where can I find information about the slab on grade on a set of plans
Foundation plan
I see you use a MaciSO and use Preview. Have you used Bluebeam before on a PC? Is there a good Mac version of that?
Awesome video, you can tell how much you like your job..!!
Yes!! 🙌🏼
Thank you
Thanks!
Thank you nice video, I'm a Kitchen Designer :)
The professional dab 😂😂😂 love it. Btw you with braces is hot. Thanks for the video you're very much appreciated
This is great thanks
You’re welcome!!
This was the first video online that actually helped me. Jesse ... dude ... Name is Joe.
I work as a commercial carpenter in CLE and surrounding areas.
I'd like to learn blue print reading as it applies to what I do?
Please help?
Thx.
i like your video can you do one like a warehouse like amazon with conveyor belts
Very good dear
This dude gets off topic a lot but thanks for the video!
Stop it.
if you need a glass and glazing company in the Tampa Bay area feel free to reach out to us! Great work! Great vids!
Hey, i just got hired at a construction job as an estimator. So far they have only taught me how to read apartments and housing foundation. can you please do a few examples on how to read commercial foundation? How can you tell from where to where is each type of parameter footings.
Hi Jesse, I have dm ed you on instagram but haven't received any reply so I post here. I am curious about residential constructions in the US. I was just wondering why the houses in the US made from wood instead of concrete while houses in Asia are made from concrete which I think more lasting.
The other day I also googled and didn't find any company that build with precast brick materials (which can be less expensive). Is it because florida has storms and it doesn't comply with the code?
Do u need to get new material (precast brick) certification before you can use them? Thanks
nice video
Would you be able to share some of your work in PDF format for those of us who would like to get started with Tenant Improvement plans? I could use them as a reference to ensure plan accuracy. Thank you!
That poster on your wall is smart. It just made me think of this line about my industry: "97% of PAINTING CONTRACTORS who watch you video will quit, and not spend even 3 minutes to find out how they too can bid on profitable COMMERCIAL PAINTING PROJECTS by having their blueprints (drawings) measured the easy way!"
i receive some prints very limited info on flooring i have to be requesting info all the time, why they make it so hard for the flooring guy
Great content. You actually sound funnier at a slower speed :)
haha i like this video...........his videos are interesting
nice sir I m beginner thinks
You use construct connect and blue beam? That's what there training me on
Take off the Read on the name of your video. Thanks for explaining
Do you provide the client with a itemized scope of work for each trade to go along with your bids?
Dannick Salbo Yes
@@Jesse_Lane Should do a video on that. I just downloaded your estimating sheet. I never give an estimate without an approve scope of work. Residential builder and its a pain to get people to commit to what they want before you give them an estimate.
Hey buddy your video its amazing you are great teacher i need some tips of you i founded my company i dont know how get more leads i have all experience in the job i just need some help. You are a professional in the field
Book a call with me www.jesselaneconsulting.com/

🔥🔥🔥🙌🏼
I am taking the contract and the project administration for the general contractor and I am having trouble with passing the test. Any suggestions do you offer a class anywhere?
Get Classes here: store.upstryve.com/?ref=JESSELANE
hi
is all that from autocad ?
What programs do you use??
I would like to learn how compatible projects. Like, construction vs pluming, electric...
anyway to get some blueprints sent to study them?
What do I need to have to do what yiu do? A college degree? A construction license?
I can't see it's blur. But I'm very thankful for the information.
Would it be improper to request a video like this specific to masonry? I’m trying to move up the ladder in my commercial masonry company and I need to know how to read plans for that. I really appreciate your expertise and your willingness to share what you’ve learned. I plan on taking a formal class but I want to get whatever bass info I can beforehand. Thanks in advance, either way.
It still gets me hot when each trade is only referring to one sheet. It's certainly the superintendents job to coordinate everything and review field conditions. But the trades should also take a guick look at the other drawings. Also not having a drawing set not mine on site is a problem. Yes we have I pads and such but each trade should have at least the a 1 or floor plan and ceiling drawing. Some subs send there guys to job and they are lost.
Anybody know whwere i can see the drawings examples for MEP and Structual?
solid shirt change
(and useful video, thanks!)
;)
Plumbing is usually coordinated by the Mechanical Engineer.
Do you have a Construction project management certificate?
You jump around a lot but I am ok with it. LOL keeps the video intresting
Great vid. Please zoom n more. Difficult to see. Thanks
How do I establish elevations
don't forget the termite spray or you're screwed 😆
at what minute is electrical thats all im interested im an apprentice electrician lol
Are you related to Anthony Michael Hall? Definitely resemble him.
