Thanks my friend for bringing me along on this journey. This past year traveling together has been some of my favorite memories! Shoutout the coaches you both are the real MVPs!
The integrity and respect shown for both the game and every opponent you both faced is so nice to see and genuinely heartwarming. Just some awesome friends having a friendly competition and laughing the whole way. Genuinely one of my favorite videos I have ever seen on this channel, looking forward to more of the TCG videos as its one of my favorite series on the channel.
Absolutely INSANE you played two brothers back to back 😂 (I sat beside you round 7!) oh man the card on the floor situation happening was painful to witness 😢
Glad to see purple back into his starting content, seeing him back in the TCG game is making me happy its also influencing me to try the pokemon TCG aswell as getting back into competitive yugioh!
Such a sweet ending. I think it underlines part of why Pokémon is so special to so many people. It’s not just the games or cards themselves. It’s the community. The fellow trainers who we interact with. An instant connection that you can share with someone. I’ve been playing the games since gen 1 and never stopped. And this is part of why I still love Pokémon to this day.
If only more people saw it that way... 90% of the community is toxicity, negativity, pessimism, hate, and shitting on the company and games. Ugh it makes me so sad. I wish we had more of this, people supporting one another and coming together as a community. I really hate what became of the community now. It's always "Pokémon sucks" this "The games are bad" that and "They're running out of ideas. The graphics are bad. Everything is so unoriginal. This is the worst game ever." Can we just stop it? I'm so tired of this man
@@pikasheep I think it’s not that they’re the vast majority of the community, it’s just that they’re the noisiest part of it. You might do better to find a smaller community group, one that doesn’t tolerate that kind of behavior. For instance, my town formed a group of GO players and now has a discord server we all stay connected through. There are also closed Facebook groups of Pokémon fans that have positive communities. The good trainers are still out there :) I hope you can find some to hang with and rekindle your faith in the community.
@@Onlera I know there's still good in the community and I do see some people who are positive but I mostly see lots of negative stuff. It feels like there aren't many Pokémon fans where I live. I checked and there is a league close to where I live but I'm not into competitive and I'm not sure if I can just go there and talk to others. I'm still too nervous to talk to people tbh... I don't have the courage and no one ever comes up to me and starts a convo. So I'm not sure if I'll be able to find any Pokémon friends out there
Battling will never be my thing, whether it's in the card game or in the games themselves. But I truly love the community it brings to its players. I'm a writer. I love pokémon for its story, its characters. I write my own stories about them. I make my own communities where people can gather and write their own stories, too. And I love that. Pokémon has truly given me something that I don't think anything else ever has nor ever will, and that's a safe place. Thanks for making these videos, Jack. As someone who's been watching since the Twitch streams, it's truly inspiring to see how much you've grown and to see what you continue to do. I hope I can be like you one day.
Cliff you are the reason I started the pokemon tcg and it changed my life. I was sad and depressed but the tcg helped me meet so many wonderful people and make amazing friends. Thank You
Watching this video reminded me of the old days I used to play competitive TCG long before it was popular with websites where you could look up deck lists. I always built my decks around my favorite Pokémon and tried out different combos without really knowing what I was doing. My very first competitive TCG was my country’s national championship at the age of 13 and I almost made it to the semifinals. Good thing I didn’t because I was exhausted 😂
It was so funny when he was talking about the game where it’s like a brother and then a bigger brother and just the whole family comes out right after you beat them. Just the whole family is fighting.
Jack, another masterpiece of a video! We all love this kind of content. Btw, during round 7, you were sitting besides SneakertalkTCG, a fellow youtuber. 😊❤
im doing the same thing this year. when i was a kid i only ever did locals back in 2015/16 getting back into the hobby now after 6 years out. its been a long couple weeks learning the ropes again
I know this vid has been up a bit, but this video inspired me to get back into playing card games and got me to make a PTCGL account to start playing. Been having so much fun since then, and your channel is a big inspiration to start playing!
Loved the end, "i love pokemon". This year i had my first "big" tournament playing yugioh which was a regional, and at the end that was my feeling. its awesome
I have said it before and i will say it again these videos are my personal favorite type of videos that purplecliffe makes, this is the type of content that basically gets more people into the pokemon tcg im always so hyped when i see this pop up in my notifications hope to see more of this and all other content
It's videos like this that make me hyped for going back into playing TCG, but then I forget about it 15 minutes later and go back to shiny hunting.... freaking Frosmoth or whatever, in Scarlet.
Love these pokemon tcg videos, I began playing in Sun and Moon and fell in love with the game, would love to meet you in person one day man and play a game with my favorite poketuber, keep up the great work!!! Can’t wait for your next vid!!!
I remember the days when we'd watch you on Twitch playing PTCGO, so it was so fun catching this video on y'alls journey. Hope to see you at an event in the future!
You guys are so lucky. I love Pokémon, but dot have any friends or family that can play the TCG or the games. But your videos help me feel like I’m there, so thanks for that. Love your content man. Keep it up.
Holy cow Purplecliffe saw this!! I’m playing a deck with 4 Arcanine Exs and named the deck Arnie. Got my trainers and stuff figured out just finalizing which Pokémon to bring in. Love these videos it helps a ton!!!
2:22 Wouldn't have expected the Orgrepon/Raging Bolt is C tier. I played a lot with online with Charizard EX and the Future/Iron Hands deck too. The Meta changes a lot and there are some many different configurations. I kinda hope they bring a Gen1-4 game option to TCG Live someday. If only 'Pokemon: Play It!' had an option that makes you be able to creat a deck of your own and use that, that would have been soo good haha
Wow this made me so nostalgic for when I used to play Pokemon tcg. I remember going to the first pre release event dragon types were introduced to the game
Been watching purplecliff’s Pokémon videos for awhile now and I’ve been collecting cards since middle school (I’m in college now) I just learned and played some games of the TCG so happy watching these :DDD
Thanks for the link man I didn’t even now there were places that held Pokémon events in my part of Switzerland but now I’m literally going to one next week
Regarding your round 2 matchup, it's wild that you played your round 1 opponent's brother. I had something similar at a Magic the Gathering event, 900 people in the room and my round 1 opponent was my own brother.
For your second match where you say that you played against your 1st rounds opp's brother and you said that there's no chance, I bursted out laughing. My twin and I are playing CF Vanguard and no matter if we play at local or a 800 player event, we ALWAYS end up playing against each other in the first 3 rounds. I'm not kidding, A L W A Y S. 425 player event? Second round. 700 player event? Third round. :D
Props to the coaches as they also needed time to prepare and they spend that time on you guys. ... when I reread this It felt kinda as an insult, but to tired to think so gonna press [enter]... snore snore snore...
Aside from the great content you've shared, I'm more curious how the holo foil card were made. Seems like the motion is identical but the light refraction effect is compelling. How?
i love Pokémon
i agree
I LOVE WATCHING PURPLECLIFFE

Epic pairing tbh, keep at it guys
Cool
I love how Jack’s coach called drakloak’s ability Air Mail knowing that Jack was old enough to know the reference
Can anyone give context about the reference
@@ankitmasih6219 there used to be a pidgeotto with the same ability but named air mail
As someone who’s first ever deck was the torrential downpour theme deck from tag team, which had that pidgeotto in it, I instantly understood it.
Air Mail's not that old, it's not even a decade old, it's from 2019

Hey Dylan!!!
The Dads need to do an online TCG versus

The 8 years ago, cliff jumpscare was crazy. It was also crazy how Jack from 8 years ago had the same hair style as now.

Therapist: Skinny Cliffe Isnt Real He Cant Hurt You
Skinny Cliffe: 0:08
Why does skinny cliffe look like a Fortnite skin
Skinny cliff reminds me of Henry stick man
He looks like he’s dying
the end of cliff just saying "there was one thing in my mind: i love pokemon" literally made me cry
what is wrong with me...?
I have no doubt Jack could win big if he had TWO weeks of training
Sam is such a bro. There are so many people who would say no to something like that Round 9. Good luck to Jake!
Man, Sam sacking that W for Jake to get that invite was some gigachad move 🗿
the vibe at that tourney seemed so awesome! this was a super cool video and love seeing both pokemon videogame and tcg content on your channel.
