the guy talking about phishing missed the most important fact. if you enter false details into the fake log in screen it auto routes to the legit log in screen where the same details work fine making the person think it was them mistyping details.
Seerz I have a clip of me selling 70 bonds in rs3 ik u do old-school vids but it's still super cool watching me make 1b in 30 min. My gf got hacked somehow and after months of not playing she logged back on and her account was locked because of an unpaid charge of $420 that somebody disputed. She sent in a ticket to jagex and they unlocked her account no problem. We didn't notice the bonds on her account for days. Lmk if u want the clip cuz I think she was phished and they got the account locked for charges before they were able to hand off the bonds to another account.
At 6:30 , what is the scam we're supposed to be falling for? You just randomly throw your expensive items into a trade for some teleport tabs? You don't explain it at all.
Z Unfortunately banning them doesn't do anything. They just find other ways to fuck up their own well being and life status. These types of people are cold hearted and unfortunately because of their actions and view of the world, never get anything out of life. They'll just grow up and turn into an raging alcoholic and once they are too old someone will pull their plug on their death bed not giving a fuck about their miserable angry ass. Just because it's a game doesn't make it any less screwed up, these people are seriously fucked in the head.
Lastly, the (edited) next to what you said is a clear indication that YOU care, which means that I got MY point across. Take it easy my friend there is no need to be upset about looking like a fool on RUclips, if I knew how to use Reddit don't you think I would be there? :D Have a great day
I've got scammed by some one that I thought was my friend recently. Loosing the gp wasn't what hurt me, but the friendship that I lost is what hurt the most.
Of course they have zero honor because they were probably taught by their single mother after the father left them to get everything by stealing it like this dude's mom probably did by sucking a man's wallet out clean of money by spreading her legs. "Look son, this is how you get somewhere in life" LOL
I knew a guy for 5 years i was playing with him all days, we helped each others. He gave me approx 100m i gave him 130m later in game. I offered him to sell him 1b and as soon i gave him. He blocked me from facebook/etcetcetc. Gg 1b and 5 years friendship. Can't trust anyone for pixels
well, bad experience, yet, it happened with game money... Just that now, only game money saves you of a bad real person, who I am afraid would do the same irl if having the chance...
That was my favorite video of his, i made sure to make five different youtube accounts to subscribe afterwards, will make five a day for the next 10 years.
+Jack Savage Yeah, *donations*. People *chose* to *donate* cash/stuff to him. - Therefore it's his cash, and, the people that *donated* don't have a say about what that he does with the cash. - That isn't "scamming", you dumbass. Yeah, he gave 150M to a scammer. - So? - The people that're mass disliking his vids are pathetic, and, they just need to grow the fuck up, [but, I guess that that sums up the 07 community]. Also, the vid of him giving the cash to the scammer literally is/was content, so.
" the people that donated don't have a say about what that he does with the cash. - That isn't "scamming", you dumbass." It is "scamming, you dumbass" because people donate with the expectation that their money is going towards promoting quality content instead of rewarding generically bad people. With your logic, I could say that shady for-profit organizations disguised as non-profit should get a pass just because people "that donated don't have a say" about what the shady organization does with the money. Do donators not have a say in what happens to their money? Sure. Do donators have a right to complain if they were misled into donating to a cause that they don't support? Absolutely.
Bruh who the hell scams irl friends, is getting some pixels even worth over making things completely awkward irl... Don't answer I know these ruthless scammers don't care
Some chick I was good friends with scammed me, my best friend and her best friend out of our entire banks. The total she would've made would be around 200 mill but I doubt she had many friends after that.
got my password stolen by a friend in middle school and he cleaned my bank. Stolen is a strong word tho cuz it was a pathetic password that was just the name of my pet. But its a shitty kind of betrayal when I probly would have trusted him with my password anyway. still friends with him to this day and hes gained a little moral integrity, but sometimes he still shows his shitty side.
I got scammed for like 5 mil when i was like 6 cried about it then but now i realized how stupid it was... very laughable moment when i fell for “zezimas in the red portal” those were the days
I used to wc for hours... was obsessed with it as a child dont know why i found it so amusing. aswell as some mining and fishing... never spent my gp on anything too expensive so i was able to save up over time and yea it was about 10 years ago
Had a guy tell me to play his game. It was to take items from him, drop my armor, and then trade him back quickly. I went along with it because I had plenty of money at the time and rune is easily replaced. The items I was to trade back seemed random, but what he was trying to do was get me to trade his teleports back to him too quickly and teleport away leaving my items behind. When that failed because I pay more attention to it, he told me it was for a video and gave me 1m for "playing"
I haven't been scammed in years, not since back in RS2. I was never greedy so these easy money for nothing scams never worked on me. However the one scam that did get me was back before the updates to the trade screen came out. I remember i was in the market for full Veracs. I remember trading a guy the cash but he changed out the Veracs plate skirt with a bronze plate skirt. I was so upset and i reported him, but idk if anything came of it. I also remember i got scammed once before then when i was a noob. A guy i met and added to my friends list pretended to be my friend but then over the period of like a week he found out my acount recovery questions. He did this simply by talking to me and pretending to want to get to know me, but then he worked in my recovery questions into the conversation. I was like eleven at the time so i didn't pick up on the fact that he was asking me the same questions that i had set as my account recovery questions. He changed my password and by the time i recovered the account back from him, he had looted the money and gear from my account. Luckily i was a noob at the time so i didn't lose that much in hind sight. However he did get away with my full mith, an addy scim, about 10k gp or somewhere around there, and some other junk. Luckily i have played RS on and off for about fourteen years and those where the only two times i was ever scammed.
I never got scammed in RS, thankfully. I did fall for a stupid trick when I first started though. Some lvl 29 guy became my friend for a day or so. Talked me into going into the wild with him under the pretenses of me killing some monster and he would help. It would supposedly make me rich and famous. Dude had me get my best equipment before going. I was around lvl14 combat at the time and had only been playing for like three days. So my best equipment was a steel sword and a couple pieces of iron armor. I assured him I had "a lot of gold" on me because 400 gp a couple days into the game and knowing nothing did seem like a lot when all the "man" and "woman" NPCs dropped 3-5 per kill at times. Well, we get to the wilderness and he begins attacking me as soon as he could. And I had no clue what was happening or what to do. So I died. And he just started raging in the friend messages... Apparently, my loot wasn't good enough for him. I also got to keep my sword and two pieces of iron armor so... Screw that guy.
The friends one is so true, especially for RuneScape. Rune Scape players are insanely greedy, and it isn't hard to understand why when it is such an economy driven game. It does not matter how long you've known them, it doesn't matter if you know them in real life, it doesn't matter if they've been your best friend since pre-school and he lives with you now, I don't give a fuck if its your goddamn wife, NEVER trust a person when it comes to RS. I haven't experienced it in years because I've lived by that idea but seriously people see dollar signs. I made the mistakes many many years ago, and I even had a guy that was by far my closest friend on RS for my early years in like 04 all the way to like 2011 straight up admit that he originally planned to scam me by pretending to be my friend but then I actually ended up being super chill. I had let people on my account like 5 times in the past, and only 1 of them didn't scam me all of them were really really close friends that I had known and talked to in ventrillo and everything for over a year. I haven't had to experience any of this shit for easily 10+ years at this point but it is still a thing people are stupid enough to fall for, shit made me so paranoid of people online for so long. Blizzard will sort you out if someone does that shit, Jagex won't lift a finger no matter what the situation is, like at all, you could be dying of cancer set to terminate within the year and been scammed by a Jmod live on stream and your shit is still gone forever.
I agree with you. Unfortunately there will never be a physical bond betweem two people that have found friendship over a computer game, and so the majority of people would not feel bad in themselves if they deceived you, as there is no emotional connection. If you were both working together closely in real life then you are more likely to appreciate the connection between both of you, and thus less likely to want to be deceptive, adding the real life consequences as well.
I mean sure if you were a cancer patient scammed by your own friend or a Jmod they could decline to do anything for you but that will look really bad for them when it hits the news and cost them a lot of money lmao
When I was a young lad I was chopping the magic tree at the duel arena. There was another person there, after a couple hours of chatting I felt like we were friends. He told me “hey you are too low level to chop this tree efficiently but I’m not. So if you let me use your dragon hatchet I’ll let you use my rune hatchet”. Needless to say he left the world and unfriended me.
I don't understand why people think it's funny to scam others. I wouldn't even take the money if someone gave me 100 mill because I don't think it's funny when I didn't earn the money myself.
Theres an even worse scam about, and its so fuckin sneaky. Player will message you making out like you've been on his friends list for ages, or add you then wait until you've forgot who he/she is. They'll ask you what your previous names were to 'try and jog both your memories', talk with you a while then ask to go bossing or slayer partners etc, basically a 2 man teambuilding event and an excuse to find if out you're a regular member that doesn't know the price of bonds(regular membership paid by card). Once they have info on your members situation, previous account details like multiple old names along with your account progress and levels etc (courtesy of leaderboards by comparing stats), they have everything they need. They'll log out and go straight to account recovery. They don't piss about with gold scamming, they just swipe your entire account. The fact that talking again to older rs friends that have maybe been innactive for ages, or just had a random dude on your f list you thought seemed cool you'd forgotten about just starts talking to you - these situations happen regularly enough for people to fall for this kind of scam. Pretending to be an old friend is particularly devious, folks need warned about this one.
when i was young got scammed by someone saying in ge 'why wont jagex let me type my password backwards' so i tried it and got hacked (i was probably 10), got my account back though after a long time and the guy basically leveled up by account quite a bit and even grew my bank so that was cool :P
Good to know information. My main account is a lvl 3 skiller so I do not get lured or stake scammed, however I did get scammed one time: someone came up to me while I was cooking and asked me to trade. The player gave me an item I was unfamiliar with (unstrung heavy ballista) that the runescape client and the GE price checker valued around 750k. I traded an item worth a little more than that with the plan of getting it backed after I "helped" this player. Turns out the item the player gave me was only worth 25K despite the game saying it was worth over 750k. As soon as I traded the player he or she instantly hoped worlds. Lesson learned here: never trade someone for an item you are unfamiliar with. Runescape's GE price checker is accurate for highly traded items, but can be way off when it comes to new or low volume items. Always be suspicious when someone seeks you out for a trade.
You forgot a big f2p scam that happens often. A player says he is quitting and wants to give you stuff. But all his stuf is p2p stuff and he needs some money to buy a bond and sell his p2p stuff. You can gues what happens when you give them some cash for a bond.
cky3457 it was my senior year of high school (2014) and I was leaving for the Army in 2 months and a lot of my friends played osrs. I happened to make quite a bit of money from god wars, and one of my best irl asked me to meet him in ardougne to help him with plague city. I agreed, having not done the quest myself I was extremely eager to do it! And I brought my cash stack to do the quest (extremely bad idea) I get there and we chatted for a little and said he needed help safe-spotting a boss, me being a good friend I agreed. So he asked me to follow, I follow. He said pull this lever to teleport to east ardougne (I never PVPED before so I had no clue what that lever did) believing my friend, I pulled the lever and realized my fatal error him and another player TB me and rushed me. I thought it was a joke, and called irl laughing “ awesome joke dude you got me “ unaware he did not intend to give my money back. So next day my girlfriend was having her birthday party and a lot of people from our class were there, and James (osrs friend that pked me) shows up. I talked to him privately and was explaining how 175m isn’t worth our friendship and I was willing to let it go, because I was leaving for the Army. James was like w/e I’ll give it back tomorrow bro, and an hour later he tries to kiss my girlfriend of 1 year ( my girlfriend was a rape victim and I’m extremely protective of her) I got in his face and he called me some nasty things and slapped her ass. I head-butted him and got him into a bear hug and slammed him onto the ground, and proceed to PK the fuck out of James in real life. Long story short, he never gave me my gold back, but he went to the Hospital so it was even, week later my older brother gave me 10m osrs gold to help out.
and whoever the kid is in the end is cancer. pixels over friends really? 75m isnt shit they would more than likely have no problem lending it to him. scamming was" whatever" back when i was 12 playing r.s. but I'm 25 now and could never justify scamming. just takes a piece of shit to do that.. ----sincerely a 2001 RuneScape vet. and I refuse to play eoc, even tho it has all my hard 99s out the way 😥 this game is night and day from what it was before the initial evolution of combat update. ohh the memories.
Seers I love your videos, You don't just make money making videos or progress videos, you test peoples knowledge and actually try to help the community with guides and what to watch out for. Thanks for all the time and research you do, it's really great to see.
I don’t trust ANYONE with my cash unless I’m playing right next to them, like with my brother or my dad. Simple rule to avoid being scammed. “If it sounds too good to be true... it is...” I’ve never been scammed on Runescape just by following that rule.
the scam at 9 mins i almost fell for today, i typed my account in with password then it came up with bank pin i realized rs never ask for bank pin, i changed my password in record speeds and then went on to report the vid and and the guy, and also followed him in game warning people i was lucky enough i realized just in time because after 10 mins my internet lost connection and i would have been done for
You gotta feel sorry for some of these guys. Sure, there's dirty people living in shacks in the desert scamming for their livelihood, which is normal. But when a scammer is from the Western civilized world, you know that this game is the only thing keeping them from offing themselves....they probably sit alone at lunch, get picked on at school, and the only release they get is to come home and scam precious pixels in RuneScape. I was 'friends' with a lurer, who eventually tried to scam me for my bank, but in the time I knew him, I just felt awkward talking to him...he seemed like a sad, broken, hopeless human being. Almost makes me feel bad for em.
Propane TreeFiddy Still don't see it as an excuse at all. I've openly dealt with depression for almost 5 years now and at times I've certainly felt like tomorrow isn't worth seeing and considered ways of ending it (never come close to trying though). Runescape is one of the few things I can indulge in and one of the few things I can motivate myself to play and spend time on. But anyway, just last night I got a dragon pickaxe at Callisto (my first ever) and ended up giving it to a level 64 noob who I met only the day before. I've given out plenty of money and often have drop parties where I'll drop several mil worth of alchables. If I were to sell that gold instead then that money would definitely help me in real life, but despite my shitty mental state I would still never take gold from anyone, no matter if I knew them 5 years or 5 minutes. Making other people miserable and fucking with their trust is something no one has an excuse for, so seriously to hell with anyone with a low enough moral compass to scam people. Depressed or not, they're still low life pieces of shit who deserve any bad karma that comes their way.
You can see more than just someone's inventory in the duel arena when that option is on. If you click the player icon on the bottom left when you're putting up the stake amount you can see what they have equipped.
LMAOO THAT ONE WHERE YOU GOTTA COMMENT ALMOST GOT ME!!! Before I even saw this vid some guy PMed me in game telling me I won an Armadyl godsword and to go to his Facebook. So I looked it up and it linked a runescape thread. In the thread it told you to comment. It said it was a confirmed giveaway by a mod but naaahhh. So I turned on 2 factor auth just in case and my account is fine. So damn close to losing my account.
I feel so bad for the guy at the end who was scammed by his friend, much love and respect him. I've also been down that road, I've been betrayed from a friend as well and it's a horrible feeling when you cared about the person who scammed you.
Scammed by your own friend hurts the most. I was scammed years ago, by a friend I met in game, we've been friends for weeks or maybe month, we went pk together with bunch of his friends and they killed me. My heart broke million pieces.. I quitted rs after that
Lol I started scamming when I was 9, Get people to drop their item because " I knew a trick to clone items" have them click black part of their screen and hit f4. Sent em to the load screen when in dial up days the internet couldnt load fast enough to log back in for your item.
I got scammed few months back for 600M~ in PVP world you get a "spoofed" trade request from someone else that just drags you out of safe zones, They use accounts with similar names and one sends you a trade request which triggers you to go to player 2 outside safe zones
oof that getting scammed hits way to close to home. i remember getting scammed when i was way younger by my friend who was the same age, but knew alot more about the game then me. worst thing was that he was a classmate too
I was scammed once in classic on the old trade system. I put up a mith battle axe and he had an addy one, switched it to like iron or steel. I accepted and couldn't make it decline, and by then it was too late!
I just had an idea to help prevent duel arena scams. What if they added a feature than can be toggled on or off per duel where both parties used a generated set of gear for the duel. For example say two players, one max player with max combat and another with levels 70 in combat enter a duel. They toggle said feature and both parties would be equipped with a duel arena themed weapon and armor. This could go hand in hand with the idea that players can be boosted to max combat for the duration of the fight. Another idea could be that the duel can not initiate when one of the parties has no way of damaging the other player. For example, the duel can not start when you have only a short bow and arrows but the other player has set the duel to one handed weapons and ranked only. I know players should be aware of what is happening directly in the game, but RuneScape is one of the most popular mmos and the risk of getting scammed will always be prevalent. With steps and actions like the one above, maybe the Jagex staff and the players can help pull together to allow a better and more fair playing experience so the scammers won’t prey on newer and less experienced players.
What makes someone scam? What goes on in the mind of scammer to make them think "Hey you know what... Today I'm gonna steal some poor kids money. Yeah that's a great idea". Like i really wanna know how low of morals and lack of standard human decency you have to have to scam someone out of their hard earned money. Is it sheer laziness to earn it yourself? Is it because you lack the ability to earn it yourself? Or is it just because you don't really have any regard for anyone but yourself? I mean hey idc because I never got scammed but there is probably a lot of young kids that did and cried or young teens that poured hours and weeks of their lives into getting those pixels so in reality when you scam them you're not just scamming their pixels, You're scamming part of their lives away from them. I see people all the time say "get over it, it's just pixels" but the reality of it is you might have well just thrown them in prison for a couple weeks or months and tossed away the key because that's really what you're taking away from them is time of their lives they spent to get to where they were.
Sheldon Rhymes most likely a lot of the scammers are people who got scammed back in 07 runescape and now that they are older want to do it just to spite people cause of their anger towards those who scammed them. Typical of you cant beat em join em kinda thing. I could be wrong though.
I had a real life friend sell my first account back in like 2009. It was like lv 100 or something, had 99 woodcutting too i think. Anyways, I forget how he got my password, but i think he helped me level the account or something like that. Knew this guy a few years and he stopped playing eventually. I ended up moving and then about 2 years after I moved I went to login and it said my password was wrong. I always add my accounts to any alts I make so I can tell if someone's on my account. So i end up seeing my account logged in and i messaged them and they replied. Don't really remember the specifics of the conversation, but i ended up finding out that the dude I used to be friends with thought i didn't play anymore and sold some guy my account. This was also around a time where i never had social media or anything so i had no way of contacting my old "friend" Oh ya and the guy who bought my account said it's his account now and never gave it back
The worst I’ve ever been scammed was when I was at Lumby. There was a level 3 walking around fighting goblins and asking what to do, and I thought I’d try to help teach him. So I took him through a couple quests, helped him learn money making methods. So like I spent a good couple hours with them. They were super nice and I felt generous so I gave them a mil and a bond..logged on me and unadded me as a friend the second I did. No joke a few days later I saw the same account at lumby..attacking goblins...asking for someone to teach him. Be careful of fake noobs.
For doublers, in the before time on RS3 I would take whatever money these scammers gave to me and ran with it. A personal rule was to never put up more than 100k and most of the time I ended up getting it "doubled". Another scam I fell for was being traded 1M of juju vials for a dwarf cannon. The kicker is I half doubted it was a scam and half knew it was, but went through with it anyway because I fell victim to the scammer being high level and having good gear on.
the bow scam can easily be encountered by you taking your own high tier bow and arrows, then dropping them to the ground, trade the scammer and take the items from the scammer. take back your bow and arrows on the ground and drop the scammer's item to pretend it's theirs and if they are stupid enough to not notice anything, well there you go.
The newest one is someone standing at the grand exchange saying “buying an item with a large buy limit that is obscure, I’ve hit the GE limit” for well over the price, so you will go to the GE and buy their large amount of the useless item from the ge to go sell to them
RIP 5 years of friendship over 3rd age wreath. Didn't make any sense to me because we sold eachother's stuff all the time when I was super busy with work. like SANTA. Nope, traded wreath and poof gone.
I got one of those bow and rune arrow scammers for 250M back when they first popped up with bronze bolts and the cross bow you can get out of the fletching cape. But they've since wised up to the anti-scam
Yup, tab scam got me for 100M when I first transferred to OS and started playing lmao That’s one of the very few times I’ve been scammed on RS, and it’s so simple lol. I definitely felt stupid after that one, I may have even sat at the Camelot teleport spot for at least 5 minutes before I noticed my stuff was gone LOL
In 2013 I lost my purple partyhat to the teleport tab scam. It was 10pm, I was tired and trying to sell my partyhat. Right as the person traded me, I put the partyhat up for trade and then I got a phone call. While I was talking on the phone, I was also reading what the guy was typing to me. Between being tired and distracted on the phone, I traded my purple party hat for a Camelot teleport tab. Never forget
I remember losing my Abby whip way back in the day getting lured in edgeville. Before they added the wilderness trench and u would run into the wild if u clicked over by the monastery. Was a sad day
The first week or two when 07 first came out I fell for the Camelot tele tab scam, and lost 90 d bones. I was waiting at cammy for atleast 5 mins before I realized I had lost my bones. This was back when people bought stuff at varrock bank.
SEERZ YOU JUST MADE ME REALISE WHY I GOT PERM MUTED BACK IN 09 (I think it was) I was in the bank and I picked up one of those Mort'ton remains and said "Selling remains 700k" as a joke to my buddy who freaked out, because I'd never seen this item before. Perhaps they thought I was scamming, because that came up in the report. But we were just messing around, luckily my permanent mute was appealed.
@@Seerz NOOOOO! I didn't scam anybody! I just said it as a joke to my friend and got perm muted for it. I didn't understand why I got muted. I appealed and the mute was removed. But watching your video, I realise it was a scam going around that I unwittingly looked a part of! 😂😂 There was no trade or anything, I just found it on the floor, picked it up and said "selling for 700k" then dropped it again. On the report details it said "item scamming" and showed this text as the evidence. Obviously they saw that I didn't actually trade anybody. I remember it clearly, though. So all these years later, I see your video and now I see that it was indeed a scam going around. You have to be careful what you say!
I remember when I was about 11/12. Pre grand exchange when money was harder work. I had about 8k to my name. I got scammed when a rune longsword was swapped in the trade screen for an addy one. Back in 2005/6 on the old flat screens. It was super hard to tell. Pre price estimates and item removed warnings too
When I was 9 I started playing bc my brother did, I finally got dragon plate set I was hyped, then I went to the wildly with this dude bc he was “filming a video” for RUclips and I lost it all and I cried and learned a valuable lesson
These guys are going to piss off the wrong person, whos either going to A: Dox them, or B hire someone to do it for them. They are asking for it. And I hope they get their asses kicked, its not the fact that its a game, its the principle. This could be how our world is with real money if there wasn't laws preventing it. Imagine if he could take them to court and force them to either give it back, or give back financial compensation equal to the time it took to gain the items/gold/resources in question. At this point virtual assets are rising in value, I won't be suprised to see a law that can protect your virtual assets. Then again, the whole international gaming thing... kind of a pain in the ass to enforce. It stops being just a game when you are doing it for 8+ hours a day either because you can profit off it, or because it is your passion. Outside of giving every coin a seperate item id, there is no way to track where those coins went, so there is no way to find out whos account they ended up in. Perhaps a transaction record of who they traded with that could be used in tandem with an IP list to see which accounts they are transfering the money to, to ban the dummy and the main. Only terrible people who are cowards at heart would abuse your trust just because outside of your disdain there are no ramifications for their actions. How could you live with the guilt in the first place? I feel like a douche for raiding scrubs in rust, much less actually stealing something in a game that doesnt revolve around the steal, then steal back methodology. Then again, I would absoultely enjoy shattering these guys PCs into a million pieces, just show up and put 6-12 12 guage shells into it. And repeat every time they buy a new one, and get it set up, like the fucking shotgun pc boogyman until you have destroyed it once for every time they committed such crimes against gaming.
my account got cleansed through a Add on their official facebook site (osrs) that said something like "all that has applied to the phone beta can now start playing" and had the mobile imagine copy pasted along with the text.
Custer that one is on you. They said they would only email it to those selected and even if it had gone full you could of checked the app store or would of seen an actual post and news article about it.
I remember being scammed when I was like 12 some 9 years ago. Ever since that happened never got scammed again. Best way to avoid it is to simply never trust anyone. I really have a hard time understanding how so many people can fall for this kind off shit :p
I actually got scammed one time. It was because I was a vet that I got scammed. I was cocky and was like "I've never gotten scammed before", and i dropped my items and he got me caught up in chat, and i didn't realize a minute passed and i lost godsword set(with all ornaments) and bandos tassets. (It was grand tree pod scam, i was going to drop and not teleport, but he kept talking with me, and i lost track of time)
Got scammed through giveaway link site and lost 25m, 10k cannon balls, 2k dhide, and robin hat on dec26th. Jagex wont give my items back even though they reviewed it and confirmed it was a hack.. great video.. wish i woulda watched it before. 5 days later im at 30.. so only 20m more left to replace and ill feel rich rich again :) . Perfect video.. thank you.. Ps: dude that stole 60m from friend is a loser in real life with no morals. Disgrace and really sad to hear. Take care of yourself.
I remember i got scammed as a kid. I had full rune armour and alot of money in the pvp cave near falador. Someone on my friend list wanted to trade there, and since I was a way higher combat level I wasn't intimidated and said okay sure. I was a high lvl melee guy and he was a slightly lower lvl ranged guy. Deep into that cave we met his friend. It was an almost maxed mage. I had high prayer I could switch invurnability quite well, but i still died. That moment was the moment I quit runescape for the first time. Lost all my money :P
Lol back when I was in intermediate school I had a mate who played. We were talking while playing once and he wanted to try on my dchain so I gave it to him and he logged instantly. The next day at school I told him I was gonna give him my brothers account because he quit playing (bunch of 99's and the account wasn't even mine, it was some random on my friends list) but not after taking the dchain, I said he'd get it if he gave the dchain back so later that day when I got home he traded me back the dchain and then I did the same thing he did and logged right away. That next day at school I called him a smelly prick, told him to piss off and we haven't talked since. Not exactly justice served but I as far as I know that dude didn't have any friends and moved to another school after that year.
I once scammed myself. I was lvl 30 combat and had just used my life savings to get full black armor. And I'd just realized that a monster cannot kill you if you're logged out. So I went and sought out the most terrible monster I knew, the lesser demons on Karamja. I went straight up to it and attacked it. Then I logged out or quit my browser or whatever. I felt pretty smart about myself. Certainly tricked that demon good.
tbh thx for the video, especially the duel arena bow part, bcz i have been curiousing about it, keep seeing ppl in ge saying staking all levels and he/she just a 40s combat lvl plus he/she said will provide the bow and arrows LOL
I got scammed/lured last night and was so embarrassed haha, but it was genius... standing at lumby bank chest in pvp world a player managed to convince me to show him my bank, he was stood at the bottom of the stairs and when i traded him he moved a step back and my char pathed straight up the stairs and into the castle where i got ice barraged and claw rushed for a good 25m

the guy talking about phishing missed the most important fact. if you enter false details into the fake log in screen it auto routes to the legit log in screen where the same details work fine making the person think it was them mistyping details.
you missed the boxing match stake with black characters who have barrow gloves.
@seerz go to 7:54 under your stake it has a wielded inventory where you can see their equiped items
At 6:30 , what is the scam we're supposed to be falling for? You just randomly throw your expensive items into a trade for some teleport tabs? You don't explain it at all.
that guy in the end should get perma banned we don't need that kind of idiots in this game
you should be banned for being an idiot lol "we don't need that kind of idiots in the game"
Just because it's a game doesn't make it any less screwed up, these people are seriously fucked in the head.
lol
I would ask if you were mad but that's evident by your condescending statement as if you're relevant in any way, shape, or form 😂
Lastly, the (edited) next to what you said is a clear indication that YOU care, which means that I got MY point across. Take it easy my friend there is no need to be upset about looking like a fool on RUclips, if I knew how to use Reddit don't you think I would be there? :D Have a great day

It's terrible because there's tons of ass holes like that kid out there.

I don't really see that as scamming, more stealing. Scamming is trying to trick someone, he just straight up stole your stuff.

Dude at the end has issues. Lots of issues
virginity being one of them
RCRDC X Think about how someone gets that way though. Zero honor. Doesn't value friendship. Must've been raised really poorly.
Of course they have zero honor because they were probably taught by their single mother after the father left them to get everything by stealing it like this dude's mom probably did by sucking a man's wallet out clean of money by spreading her legs. "Look son, this is how you get somewhere in life" LOL
Dude at the end is a loser bro.

Dubstep Baws damn that's disgusting, if I ever got scammed for that much I'd be pking the fuck out of them in real life
well, bad experience, yet, it happened with game money... Just that now, only game money saves you of a bad real person, who I am afraid would do the same irl if having the chance...

You forgot the scam where a runescape youtuber asks for donations so he can make vidoes on more content but then gives 150 mill to a scammer
150 idiot bitch nigga
well, its still content coz ur talking about it to this day. :)
- That isn't "scamming", you dumbass."
It is "scamming, you dumbass" because people donate with the expectation that their money is going towards promoting quality content instead of rewarding generically bad people.
Absolutely.
The worst of them all is getting scammed by people you know in real life
That's better because then you can fuck them up
That's totally not the worst. You can just go to his house
Future Past how does a 6 year old get 5 mil? Assuming this is like over 10 years ago

Hilarious rofl!

Wanna team up and scam people? I just started since rs3 came out and ruined my botted main
LOL
LOL
Anyone wanna team up and scam?
Sounds like jakeysaures in his early days lol.
Best comment :D nice story bro
@@Dutchenter
He was mad mad about how bad my gear was 😂😂
I'm lvl 14. The hell did you expect...
No matter how long it has been, I can't forget that one...
DEEP comment bro... I feel that
Truth
Those last couple comments 💀 rs needs to have an insurance system that you pay for with gp just like irl! 😂
I got scammed for my dragon sword once, the other guy gave me his AGS, now I’m stuck with it.
You forgot a big f2p scam that happens often. A player says he is quitting and wants to give you stuff. But all his stuf is p2p stuff and he needs some money to buy a bond and sell his p2p stuff. You can gues what happens when you give them some cash for a bond.
CLEVER
for rs3 they made it to where you can sell p2p item when you are f2p, i assume to combat this "scam"
Had a rlf scam me for 175m from a lure, long story short. I lost 175m he lost some teeth.

please do tell the full story, im interested haha
cky3457 it was my senior year of high school (2014) and I was leaving for the Army in 2 months and a lot of my friends played osrs.

I don’t trust ANYONE with my cash unless I’m playing right next to them, like with my brother or my dad. Simple rule to avoid being scammed.
“If it sounds too good to be true... it is...” I’ve never been scammed on Runescape just by following that rule.
Good job bud, that last video clip about the “friends” was disgusting, thanks for makin vids.
the scam at 9 mins i almost fell for today, i typed my account in with password then it came up with bank pin i realized rs never ask for bank pin, i changed my password in record speeds and then went on to report the vid and and the guy, and also followed him in game warning people i was lucky enough i realized just in time because after 10 mins my internet lost connection and i would have been done for
Damn bro, good thing you didnt get phished!

Almost

LMAOO THAT ONE WHERE YOU GOTTA COMMENT ALMOST GOT ME!!! Before I even saw this vid some guy PMed me in game telling me I won an Armadyl godsword and to go to his Facebook. Love the vids! Keep em up!
Your doing a good thing for the community by making this video. its stupid how many people fall for these still.
Lol I started scamming when I was 9, Get people to drop their item because " I knew a trick to clone items" have them click black part of their screen and hit f4.
Sent em to the load screen when in dial up days the internet couldnt load fast enough to log back in for your item.
Haha!
Yo that might have been me, i remember back in like 2004 i scammed some dude like that for full black lmao.

dial up was not a big thing tho back then when RS was out 2002, i was poor but still didnt have dial up at that point and i started in 2002

I got scammed few months back for 600M~ in PVP world you get a "spoofed" trade request from someone else that just drags you out of safe zones, They use accounts with similar names and one sends you a trade request which triggers you to go to player 2 outside safe zones

Dont victim shame. Its stricly scammers fault only.
oof that getting scammed hits way to close to home. i remember getting scammed when i was way younger by my friend who was the same age, but knew alot more about the game then me. worst thing was that he was a classmate too
I've always thought that if someone gets "scammed", or in other words gave their stuff away, that it's all their fault. Now, I still do.
Yes thank you
I was scammed once in classic on the old trade system. I put up a mith battle axe and he had an addy one, switched it to like iron or steel. I accepted and couldn't make it decline, and by then it was too late!
Im reallu drunk
Trimming.
Never try to antiscam a scammer
Most of the time the scam actually revolves around you trying to antiscam them, And they always have a counter to it.
Learned this the hard way
u forgot the teamviewer firecape scam. i made like 130b from osrs release from it. i quit so idc if you expose it.
Interesting!

This was also around a time where i never had social media or anything so i had no way of contacting my old "friend"
Oh ya and the guy who bought my account said it's his account now and never gave it back
man your how to scam guides are amazing!
I used to look for scammers pre eoc and try to outsmart then. I had quite alot of anti-scam tactics. Didn't always work but it was a fun time
Haha, watch out! Some are very smart nowadays!
Anyone ever get scammed by the cages in varrock, got scammed 1b that way trying to outsmart him.
explain? Posting new "dont get scammed" tomorrow
I remember when armour sets in the GE came out and people would sell Rune Armour Set (s) as a Saradomin set
"Don't trust people you dont knw" is probably the best advice to always keep in your mind
Didn't make any sense to me because we sold eachother's stuff all the time when I was super busy with work. like SANTA. Nope, traded wreath and poof gone.
i remember dicing! was annoying as hell but, jesus, takes me back, those pre eoc days were awesome.
Good ol days (besides dicing lol)
I got one of those bow and rune arrow scammers for 250M back when they first popped up with bronze bolts and the cross bow you can get out of the fletching cape. But they've since wised up to the anti-scam
Nice one! Yeah they've wised up hard. Feel free to watch my new dont get scammed video
@@Seerz I have one lure I can show you that invloves a graphical glitch...
very helpful in love with your videos so far all very helpful keep it up!
Cheers Tezlit!
Yup, tab scam got me for 100M when I first transferred to OS and started playing lmao
That’s one of the very few times I’ve been scammed on RS, and it’s so simple lol.
I definitely felt stupid after that one, I may have even sat at the Camelot teleport spot for at least 5 minutes before I noticed my stuff was gone LOL
Thanks for teaching me these scams! :D
Was a sad day
Damn bro, that must have been wayyy back!
Well, now I understand why I talk just with 2 people in all the game!!!! :) Thanks for a very , very interesting video.
The first week or two when 07 first came out I fell for the Camelot tele tab scam, and lost 90 d bones. I was waiting at cammy for atleast 5 mins before I realized I had lost my bones. This was back when people bought stuff at varrock bank.
SEERZ YOU JUST MADE ME REALISE WHY I GOT PERM MUTED BACK IN 09 (I think it was)
I was in the bank and I picked up one of those Mort'ton remains and said "Selling remains 700k" as a joke to my buddy who freaked out, because I'd never seen this item before. Perhaps they thought I was scamming, because that came up in the report.
But we were just messing around, luckily my permanent mute was appealed.
You probs scammed me back in the day! KARMA :)
@@Seerz NOOOOO! I didn't scam anybody! I just said it as a joke to my friend and got perm muted for it.
I didn't understand why I got muted. I appealed and the mute was removed. But watching your video, I realise it was a scam going around that I unwittingly looked a part of! 😂😂
There was no trade or anything, I just found it on the floor, picked it up and said "selling for 700k" then dropped it again.
Pre price estimates and item removed warnings too
Ouch man i feel you on that ):
They said they would only email it to those selected and even if it had gone full you could of checked the app store or would of seen an actual post and news article about it.
ez life who hurt you? Just cause you don't like Facebook doesn't mean you have to treat those who do like shit.
“I don’t care if nick is my friend” wow these scammers
Feelsbadman
love the vids, seerz
I remember being scammed when I was like 12 some 9 years ago. Ever since that happened never got scammed again. Best way to avoid it is to simply never trust anyone. I really have a hard time understanding how so many people can fall for this kind off shit :p
Best way to not get scammed is to basically ignore anyone that walks up to and asks for anything or drop anything
(It was grand tree pod scam, i was going to drop and not teleport, but he kept talking with me, and i lost track of time)
damn, imagine getting killed by air strikes in a scam for 100m. that's like medieval torture...
Hahaha, how did you think of that!
Certainly tricked that demon good.
man ive been playing for years and didnt know the duel arena/shield thing. thanks.
Glad to help Jason!
tbh thx for the video, especially the duel arena bow part, bcz i have been curiousing about it, keep seeing ppl in ge saying staking all levels and he/she just a 40s combat lvl plus he/she said will provide the bow and arrows LOL
i always take my time when trading, never gotten scammed because of it, it's so great to see them get really frustrated they couldn't scam xD
when I quit rs3 I was buying 1 gp items for 100k. was actually a lot of fun since I didn't take the same item twice
