Definitely a disciple of Fosse and Gwen Verdon Paula Abdul is in my opinion the best dancer, choreographer to ever become a pop singer; she was amazing as a dancer amazing!!!
She was a Choreographer before she started singing. She Choreographed Janet Jackson's Nasty, Control, What Have You Done For Me Lately and When I Think of You videos. She did The Jacksons Torture video, and she choreographed Tom Hanks keyboard dance in the movie Big.
The Bob Fosse inspired choreography is top notch. I think Janet re-created it for her "If" video. Also love the Duke Ellington track you have at the opening. Always reminds me of Love Jones.
Thanks for the request! The talent of Paula Abdul! “Knocked Out”, “”Straight Up”, “Forever Your Girl”, and “Opposites Attract” are my favorites by her. I haven’t seen this in ages! I grew up in that era! Great reaction from you JJ! 👍🏽👏⭐️😎
She also did some video choreography for Prince. I’m not 💯% sure , but I think I read that she worked on Thieves in the Temple with him, at least on parts of it. I’d have to research it more! 💜💜💜
At the risk of ruining the appreciation you are developing for Paula Abdul, the 1st video she choreographed was Torture by the The Jacksons. If you react to that video, remember that she only choreographed the video. That vision was not hers. Lol
JJ, if you haven’t already, check out Ariana Grande’s 2024 music video for “yes, and?” bc it’s an homage to “Cold-Hearted”. ✌🏽_its arrrt jack would be so proud with you coming HARD with requests_ 👏🏾

Yes Paula was that girl 💥🔥❤💥🔥💥🔥
Don't forget...it was nice!
Paula was also a Laker Girl and was their choreographer and was recommended by Jermaine Jackson to Janet.

She also choreographed the African dance scene in the movie Coming to America.

Solid hit. The burlesque show was a bit distracting 😅
