8:12 difference in Jordan cards. Is his name placement on card. One on your right is near bottom. I would think that is why it got a 9 because of centering.
You were asking about the difference in the Jordan grades. I have a theory that I tried with SGC. I sent sent them doubles of cards to grade but I mixed them up in the order. Try subbing your order with multiple same cards mixed up across your subb. I did this with SGC and hit the most 10's and 9.5's on a 40 card order. Only a couple of 8.5's.
So true man! I cut out about 100 cards and sent them in… came back with lots of 8s and 9s from one grader. I literally cracked them all out, re-submitted and they came back 90% 10s. It’s like flipping a coin to get an accurate grader at PSA
I think you did well on your submission. On the 8 vers the 10 jordan sticker, check the centering at the bottom, the type looks much closer to the bottom edge, could just be the way it represents on the video.
@@RetroHoopCollectiblesDid they damage it and give you a 6? They damaged 6 of my stickers and gave them mainly 6's. Don't know if it was the grader and the encapsulator that creased my cards
I just sent in 28 2017-2024 baseball cards to them. I'm wondering which one they're gonna crush me on. Which of my Aaron Judge rookies are going to get hammered? Which of my HFA's are going to get hammered? You know they hate those foil cards...nervous.
I’m very surprised to hear you say anything positive about PSA. I’ve generally agreed with your negative criticism of PSA in the past. I don’t even collect basketball.
I think you hit the nail on head, “no one cares” and they should. It blows my mind PSA is grading 1.2M cards. The demand shouldn’t be there because of these issues. It actually deserves a class action lawsuit with PSA taking millions of dollars because of what you described. But obviously that would never happen
Couple reasons. It was actually cheaper to sub with PSA with the special they were running. Another reason is I had previously sent a handful of these stickers to SGC and. Couple came back “trimmed” which was odd for a hand cut sticker. And then I honestly felt a couple of them has a great shot at a 10 which for resell, PSA is king and we all know that. I was able to list my others and basically get my 10 for free
I think they need to get rid of all the graders that assign 6's. I have heard to many complaints about Topps and Donruss and Panini cards from 2022 to present that have been given a ton of 5 6 and 7's. 1st theory, grader woke up on the bad side and took it out on the cards. 2nd theory grader goes out has a great night and goes home to a 3some and grades are 9 and 10's
Look, they don't care about what grades you are getting. Because you keep sending them cards... a million a month for those grades is asinine! That is a lot of wasted dollars that they are sending back.. I'm glad I have not jumped on that train yet. Not until they start to value thier customers...
Serious question - If you had to pay, say $5 more dollars per card for a documented explanation of why downgraded from Gem, would you pay it? What about $10 more? I would absolutely pay up for that level of detail.
look at how little space there is under Jordan's name on the PSA 8 sticker that you were comparing to the PSA 10...since the top border is the same for both of those stickers, it seems like you cut too much off of the bottom border on the PSA 8 copy...PSA accurate on that...and I am guessing that the PSA 6 has a small wrinkle somewhere...it is pretty easy to get a wrinkle on a sticker, especially if you put them into Card Savers...if you used top loaders, then you stand a better chance of avoiding wrinkles -- SGC doesn't tell you why either
I have been lobbying for ppl to stop subbing to PSA because of the very reason u mentioned, but because of modern flippers, PSA will always be #1 above & beyond, plus PSA slabs are very cheap feeling in hand & are actually tougher than u think because of how flimsy the slabs are tbh
You knew all along what you were getting with psa but you chose to do it. Nothing in this video is shocking. However you said you looked over these and you have all the equipment, but those 2 Jordan's you said looked identical, one was very obviously top to bottom off center. That is just what I can see watching the video on my phone.
I think I explained it pretty well at the beginning. I had 3 major issues with them. Price turn around time and grading consistently. They’ve figured out the main 2 and I was testing the third.

I think they just know people will resubmit and pay again to get it regarded.
Yep. They always give a few 6's in submissions. There's an opportunity to buy good looking 6's at the moment because most are probably flawless
check out that top to bottom centering on the MJ 8, compare the placement of the name on bottom border
Yes. That is clear with just the naked eye.
Look at the definition of a PSA 6 and read about the centering it allows. This did not get a 6 because of centering
@@RetroHoopCollectibles I know and agree with you. But my comment was when you put the 8 and 10 side by side.
They probably got that one right, but not the rest of them

Great video as always. Can’t wait to see your video on PSA acquiring SGC

Think it's best to split cards up into multiple orders. Try not to send in too many of the same.
Snap, Crackle, Pop Control

I have a follow up video on Wednesday about the PSA6
@EverydayCardCollector-Jason exactly what I said about the bottom border

My grades are popping any second!
Dope ass Detlef card!!!

I think the jordan 8 looks better than the Jordan 10

I care, I’ve been putting off grading because I’m so worried what grader I get and what kind of mood they’re in!
still not as bad as i somehow both got a 9 and 3 on the same card two cards i sent in
My deep dive video comes out Wednesday on my PSA 6
1st 🎉
Omar threatening us with the 2nd amendment, 😂
Jussayin 😂😂😂🤷🏽♂️
Why did you go with psa instead of sgc

Isn't PSA the one where some guy actually grades the grade?
I gotta imagine there is an element of machine grading involved

I stopped subbing to PSA because it's seemingly a total coin flip as to what you'll get for grades. They're wildly inconsistent.

I typically think the same. But check out Wednesdays video on my deep dive into the PSA6 I got.

But look up the definition of a PSA6. See what it considers 6 centering.
Still blows my mind you subbing with PSA after everything you’ve said about them over the years. Just can’t seem to understand it…

I understand, just still surprises me is all.
