My problem is that Runick is indicative of what the game has become. Just making sure your opponent can't ppay anything or , when they do, they're being punished. Didn't help that the Runick players I've played against usually go for it being a stun/stall deck
I disagree. Perhaps if Runick had a hard 'once per turn restriction at the Runick Fountain, I would agree with you. Even Fur Hire - Runick generates so much card advantage, it's ridiculous
The only personal gripe I have with Runick at times is the immediate shuffle back and draw 3 after using a Spell. I'm just a guy who would have rather seen that draw during the EP. In a way, kind of how Multirole cycles back used Striker Spells. Aside from that, I do agree that outside of Runick Stun, the Deck is cool.
The problem with runick is that they have a lot of annoying mechanics stacked on top of each other. The fountain draw 3 and introduces a whole new element of luck when playing against the deck. Will they draw what they need or draw irrelevant cards in that game state? Having to deal with that dice roll multiple times in a game is just awful. Losing the bp and not being able to run flex spots are real problems but they both matter a lot more going first than going second. You end up with runick combo decks that either have to go first or open insane to beat your opponent. Yeah the engine has a lot of downsides but it gets paired with dumb stuff that fix most of them.
It's kinda crazy because I think Runick, Sprigths and Tear are actually quite fun! It's just the perspective that each duelist have. Tear is just too good so I kinda get some of the heat against it. Floodgates unfortunately are part of the game and on a good day you might duel against a few but on a sucky day well... a lot.
I like all 3 but Tear being too powerful compared to other decks made it unfun. Spright is pretty good, would like toad to be at one though cause multiple toads isn't fun to play into going 2nd. And same with Runick. Unfortunately most times I've played it it has been Runick stun which obviously is lame. But the Runick engine itself isn't the problem. I don't mind you playing a bunch of spells and decking me out, as long as I can actually play myself and am not stuck behind skill drain or other lame floodgates.
@@Binzob yeah the stun versions of any deck for me honestly, are no fun at all since they just try to stop the game from being played. At that point I just feel I'm wasting my time in a duel...
Gonna be honest with u it's really not that bad now looking back on it I honestly thought it was the worst thing to go up against but now with what we have no things getting banish from my extra deck face down yuh no ruinck is ok
Runick Musketeer's is definitely one of my favorite decks. Despite Runick being hard limited in the Fairy/Fiend event, it did a really good job supplementing my Yubel deck. Lost 1 match to D/D/D and beat every other opponent, even the Lab players. Though i was dead to rights on one of them but managed to force the opponent to take so much time by the 8th turn that they timed out even though the interactions i was forcing by then were all bluffs
I don't even need to watch the video. I just already agree. Giving Decks combo starters and discard outlets while also adding a control element to an endboard is really cool. Except Runick Stun. I disavow all Runick stun players because they play a worse deck that's also UNFUN.
Runick can be such a fun combo strategy, runick synchro which was in my opinions miles better than runick stun, runick fur hire which is one of the funniest decks ever (also one of the most expensive ones but that a discussion for another day) and runick spright, which is also a really fun deck in my opinion. Runick stun is pretty boring, but what's the difference between runick stun, and inspector boarder stun, or eldlich stun. Between these three deck the common denominator isn't runick but the floodgates, that's why those should be the cards to get severely limited.
you should try runick/spright/ishizu/dark law with different dimensional burrial and exchange of spirit with gravekeepers trap, when mudora was at 3 i swear this variant was the real tear zero
I agree that runick is a fine archetype, they have pros and cons at the same time. Very well performed as an engine, but for themself alone, isnt that good performed (without any stun deck.) As a runick player myself, even i hate Runick Stun totally no fun at all. What i enjoyed most is Runick Fur Hire and Runick Naturia, also runick ghoti sometimes. Especially with Fur Hire, since i have a good time with that archetype in duel links and i love when that deck perform well in the ranked. So nothing much to say other than i agree with this video + and Runick one of the archetype that good for learning the flow of the meta.
You forgot to mention this video was sponsored by Joshua Schmidt

Ok but ruick stan is bad and deserve the hate atleast let me play the game
Also dig that is a control deck that uses Fusion monsters in a different way than others
the great problem is: the fusion monsters protecting the floodgates...

Naturia runick goes brrrrr
My favorite thing about runick is the absolute myriad of different decks it can work with.
Runick isn't a problem. Floodgates are the problem.
i play runick/spright/ishizu/dark law with infinite recursion... change your mind yet?

The problem with your argument is that the combo decks are using runick. Those combo decks definitely need those draw 3s every turn.

Another archtype mostly hated because of it's stun variant.
Can't wait to see more fun versions of it tbh

I am once again targeted.

I am hearing a while load of bullshit
