Been playing 22 years. It took me a while to understand what the fuss was about Roc. Then one day I saw the light and it suddenly became clear. Now I have 3 KC Pro Rocs, beat in, straight and new. No other mids needed.
I went through a rebellious period where I thought I could find better mids than the roc, and I took the roc out of my bag completely. I have since realized I was wrong, and now bag 3-4 rocs and it’s the only mid in my bag
Heck yeah🤘 Been throwing Rocs for 20 years. My "World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend" 2003 & 2004 along with my KC Pro 11X (all bought at time of release) are sooooo nicely seasoned. The FINEST wine🍷👌
my dx Roc is my most thrown disc by far. it is my go-to for anything dead straight up to 300ish feet. it is just recently starting to fly almost exactly like that red one you demonstrated with more unpredictable turn and seemingly less glide. apparently someone has introduced it to a bunch of trees, so it sounds like i'm going to be shopping for a KC pro version pretty soon here
I just bought a star roc and am debating on pairing it with a DX roc or a champion shark for the OS/Stable 4 speeds in the bag thanks to your love for the disc!
...soo it seems this video made an impact... I have now owned a KC and a DX for a week, not thrown all that much but they will take a place in the bag, both to begin with to learn the different seasonings and such. Then the goal will be to give away the DX to a beginner and eventually the KC when I need a new one as well. Sitting in the same slot as my beaten in fuzion eMac Truth but with a deeper more touchy feel. Stright with a finish is the best ones imo. ^_^
@@RobMonroe97 if that were true Paul wouldn’t be bagging multiple CT wasps trying to replace his mcpro roc3s. He would be bagging 3+ buzzes like he used to with rocs.
@@elucaspierce1237 also, you are comparing roc3s to the buzz… Roc3s are clearly more over stable… If a player wants more over stable mold clearly it will go away from the buzzz
The roc is the greatest disc ever made. It was my first disc I got when I started along with the classic grid aviar and I used only those two discs for a few years. 24 years later, the roc is still my go to for any shot. And they do glide forever and ever.
Love the Roc, and the review. I would really like to see you guys do a video on Roc knock offs. Other brands that have a very similar disc with similar flight. The MVP Vector comes to mind even tho it is OOP.
If you guys haven't reviewed a champion monarch would you guys be willing to do so? Back in 09 when I first started it was my favorite driver and now that I got back in to disc golf a month ago I re fell in love with it, plus i don't ever see anyone else bag it, even back then I didn't see anyone else use it
I would love to see a review of the Maverick. Curious to see the stages of wear with the mold and would like to see how the fuzion-x 2022 Mavericks fly(I can't go throw mine due to huge amounts of snow)
It's interesting that a lot of people hate on dx plastic... my go to roc has been in my bag since at least 2009. It's only now starting to get a little unpredictable (not quite enough to retire tho)
the roc is such a peculiar disc in the factor of glide. when new? yeah, definitely 4 glide. when beat in? at least 5. some DX glides as much as a Cobra or MD1.
The Pro plastics are more of a mid-grade plastic, with XT and Driver Pro being the most durable, followed by the KC Pro, and the least durable ones in R-Pro and JK Pro plastics. DX and DX Glow are the base plastics.
Been carrying the roc in DX since the 90's. Still do, but now I buy mistamps for $6 each. I mean hell, why wouldnt I. Roc in dx glow tis a keepr as well. I put the roc in with my 5 speed discs. I JUST replaced my old dx rocs after 20yrs of use.
Rocs are great until your perfectly seasoned straight or turnover Roc cracks on a tree or even the ground when it is cold. I have shattered the KC Pros on trees too many times to throw them anymore. I went to all premium plastic discs - the straight to turnover slot filled by the Fuse and the overstable slot filled by Reactors.
The Roc is the reason all modern reviews reviews talk about how good the discs feel in the hand since compared to one anything feels amazing. The roc just feels so much bigger with that dome and bead compared to something like a buzzz or hex.
@@jakeb_91 I have a cro. I found it bout a month ago and it's very similar to my meteor just a hair more stable. I like it but not enough to replace my meteors
I love this review style, showing a new AND seasoned disc. This should be the new standard for disc reviews
Completely agree
Yeah it's nice. Some can be pretty tight oob. Sometimes it's worth it to do a one disc round and break em in

A forgotten warrior, a reason why this disc has been made for years and still will for more years to come! Great disc!

You guys should do a video overviewing all the rocs; vroc, roc3, rocx3, rancho roc, etc
Don’t forget my favorite one, the Cro

This disc came in a starter set and I have 4 now. I really like it as a beginner.
Great video! Highlights the versatility of plastic changing and cycling a single mold.
A thing of beauty, this kind of flight! 🤩
Been playing for 20 plus years and the roc has been the only constant in my bag best midrange hands down
I found an old Roc and wondered why it was so flippy. Thank you for showing that.

This is a fantastic review. I'm sold. Now I'm headed to the Foundation shop because you guys earned it. :)

Roc n roll my friends!!! great review Trevor!! Way to give this disc the credibility it deserves, cheers🍻
Yes so totally agree with you. I love my DX roc I have since I got it 18 months ago. Nice review Sirs 👍
Much better review format! Nice!

Love format, and choice
Great review guys! Love the format
Best disc of all time. Some how it’s becoming the most underrated disc of all time
Probably because of all the new brands with new mids
Probably because the buzzz is just all around better

Great, intelligent review👍. I have a glow Champion RocX3 that really Rocks the Casbah
My first ace was with a KC roc! Still in the bag
If you want a more overstable version of the Roc, I’ve found the Discmania Vapor Method is a very similar hand feel and with similar glide.
that is very much like the roc3 so its a different mold comparison
The Millennium Sentinel is good too.
Let’s go!!! So excited to see this
Definitely want to see the Roc3 review, i personally throw DX Roc3s because i like the slightly flatter top

The smoothest flying disc in disc golf.
I’m torn on whether that title goes to the roc or the comet. The comet flies so beautifully especially when MJ throws it
How do you season a disc? Or just means beat in/ broken in?
If you do the Roc3, you should also do a review for the Rocx3 UNDERRATED!!
Definitely my favorite mid.
Rocking a star roc for the woods

Some runs of DX were crappy, almost Pro D bad.
What’s your take on the star plastic Rancho rocks?
What does a seasoned disc vs new disc mean? What’s better?

Nothing in disc golf flys better and straighter than a well seasoned DX Roc
What happened to the grass on the pitch?
The best Rocs imo were DX bottom stamped ranchos. 👍
