$600 for a head gasket is insane. My OEM Cummins gasket for my 12V was 220. Running 75PSI on 625's with no fire rings or orings. Been running strong for 20k miles.
Yeah, that's the list price. The cost was around $375 I believe but at least we know it's a good one. He bought one from Ebay from a seller that "claimed" it was a Cummins gasket. It in fact was not. It held up to 40psi but blew immediately at 47psi.
The ticking is Steve’s blood pressure fluctuating each time he has to work on lil red 😂😂😂😂 not bad for a parking lot fix nicely done guys
It's a good thing you love working on these motors.
I am glad I have my 6.0 powerstroke
Love is not the word lol pays the bills? Yes. If I could make the same and never touch a diesel again I'd happily go that route!
No hood exhaust? WTF?
Josh is almost begging for another head gasket to go bad within 2 months. 😢
That first fire up sounded like an exhaust leak at the manifold to head port. From where I was standing anyways.
I thought that too but nope. It has me a little stumped. I checked the valve adjustment today and it was maybe a smidge on the tight side on the intake side but that was about it. Still makes the noise but runs awesome.
@@CPSteveMiller pressurize the exhaust system with shop air at the tailpipe and spray soapy water or glass cleaner around the manifold and other exhaust joints to see what you find.
I bet Josh will beat it some point we see it coming 😂
Alley mechanics 😂😂😂
Y don’t u guys just bleed the injecters ?
No need. It fires right up with a prime. It actually takes more time to bleed the injectors than to just fire it up.
For anyone wondering, his solenoid is bad. He has to turn the key on, then get out and push it up, then get back in and start it. He has one on order.
@CP Steve Miller I absolutely do not have one on order, I am a cheap bastard
Okay
I had no idea a gasket cost that much. How's the bike ride with the sag set?
Rides great now. I've put almost another 1k miles on it since
Wow, you cut all your hair off? Another interesting vid. Thanks.
These videos makes me want to move over there are work on shit with you guys😂 I've not Noone to wrench with here in MN
27th first from North Dakota 🤷🏻♂️
Does the truck have new piston rings
No, it's still a factory 200k mile engine give or take. These things will take 8 or 900hp on a stock bottom end as long as the torque isn't through the roof.
On a single turbo the bottom end will hold 800 all day. On compounds I definitely recommend building the bottom end. Low end grunt destroys these bottom ends faster than horsepower does.
That thing needs a whole new engine looks like
Why? Runs great and has no crankcase pressure. There's some steam from the moisture but that's it.
Furst 😅
