Here me out. Polymer clay that can be molded to the shape you want. Then bake it in the oven to harden so it doesn't lose its shape. Then you could use some double-sided tape to adhere it. I'm a genius

@@jaber5345 Wonder how it would actually turn out and there could be better options out there. Maybe some type of foam-type clay or one with small beads for some more texture. Can also get types that air-dry instead of having to cook it in the oven. They probably wouldn't be as good tho. Could be interesting
@@IStratz Yeah definitely. A solidly set material that wouldn't warp like clay would be a better implementation than what gwolves have done here.
A few extra mm of width for my beast x mini would be really nice.
GL with the materials engineering, can't say it's something I have a lot of insightful input for lol 😅. Anything that freely cut grip tapes like supgrips would adhere to well would probably be good enough

yo i was gna buy a new mousepad mouse and monitor but i quit gaming entirely for exams - whats some good budget/midrange options now? i aint looked at any for 3-4 months.
last i remember i was looking at the vxe r1 pro which im sure is still rlly good but i js wanna know if there are longevity issues/better options for a similar price now
also any good mousepad options? im a low sens former val but nowadays everything player whos looking for a more controlled mousepad than what i have (thick QCK) + a lighter mouse so before i was looking at one of those aqua control 900x400mm pads with one of them nice white wave patterns on it (i can also go 500x350 at the very lowest & stack pads).
i can prolly handle getting myself a monitor but if there are any really good deals for monitors lmk, before i looked at a 27 or 32" gigabyte 1440p 165hz monitor cus 120hz+ and 1440p+ is good value for ur money (its fine if nobody here knows alot about monitors)

The true future IMO is mice that look like Optimum's super minimalist Zeromouse thing, but have some adjustability like those bulky Madcatz RATs, so you can tweak the length/width to fit your hand (instead of having to use clay lol).
While I think it's a good idea I don't think it'd catch on because of the open and fragile design. Also a lot of people buy mice based on appearance and not raw performance. But I'll see, I sure hope there will be something like this in the future

i been making mods with tennis grip tape and super glue for a minute
I feel like some kind of small mouse with clip points so you can put on 3d printed finger rests might be the solution, or just include like a ton of them in the box, like 10-12 options, plastic is cheap, and you can offer a premium on the product considering how cheap they would be to produce.
That's actually what I tried to do with foam clay, but it's easier said than done

It's the shape endgame but that also means it'll be niche, just like custom IEMs. So what we do is customize for a while to find your ideal shape with gamer goo(TM), then scan/model that final shape to 3d print, then we take the internals from another mouse and replace the housing with our custom printed shell

What I've been doing for a while is this, buy double sided tape, the rubberized ones, they come in different thicknesses so choose the size you want, then you just cut them into the shape of your mouse, apply grip tape on the double sided tape, and boom. Have made some of my mice way more comfortable this way.
Fingertip mice feel way to thin and I always get cramps using them

I think clay for grip modifications is actually a really good idea. Usually I do 3d modeling to make It into the shape I want but it's very time consuming and it requires a lot of trial and error to 3d model a mouse, then needing to fit a pcb into the shape. Clay is very smart and cost effective

You're very optimistic. That's good because i was telling this to ppl for like past 15 years (highly customizable shape for your hand will be endgame). 3d printing helps. In future we would have cheap carbon fiber printers. This light weight clay (known) is very good addition. DIY will always be better for customization to different hands so dudes... better get used to this :)
We need system to harden clay + 3d scanner to make few of these addons and test it for ultimate comfort (or at least that's what I intend to do)

My issue with pure fingertip mice is they get the general shape and length wide, but they're way too thin in terms of grip width which forces a very agressive curled grip with lots of tension. Something like the MM720 but regular ambi without a pinky rest and perhaps a bit shorter would be an endgame fingertip mouse which you can grip in a more "relaxed manner"

youll never get razer and logitech to release out there shapes. They need to sell millions of units to be considered a success, and that just wont happen with weird shapes only fit to really unique grips.
i'm done with g-wolves/chinese companies to be honest. my hsk pro plus left mouse button keeps malfunctioning. i contacted their support and they wanted me to upload a video. since i have to go back and forth between mouse and screen to show what's happening, the video is > 25mb limit that i can attach to gmail. now ... here is the big gotcha - try to share a large file with anyone in china - it's impossible as they cannot open external/outside links as this is blocked by the govt. anyway, support ended up being slow and ineffective and did not solve my problem and no further response - $130 paper weight now.
