    So much to admire here but I think the one at 7:15 is my favourite because you can get a 3D effect looking into that clear area at the bottom where you can see the depth of one of the rings/bands. Nicely done!

    Finally! Great job, they look fantastic! To answer your question on the ultrasonic cleaner…I only use mine for stage one done rocks and I mix in a tablespoon of borax with no heat for a half hour. There is no way I could use it any other way unless I had one much larger. I have 5 3lb barrels and 1 12lb barrel running stage one 24/7 365 days a year. As I pull stage one done rocks out they go into the cleaner. From there they get done in a UV-18 vibratory tumbler so there is no way I could use the ultrasonic with so many rocks. If it makes you feel any better I am still stage one tumbling some Inca agates started in September of 2022!

    Thanks for the video. My friend just bought a tumbler from Harbor Freight. I hope she enjoys the process but watching your videos makes me positive that this is a hobby that i would NOT have the patience for. If i want a shiny rock, I will just go to my local gem and mineral store and buy a shiny rock. I will suggest she watch your videos though. Thanks again. Very informative, both pro and con.

      I think the key would be to have multiple tumblers, and rocks in every stage, so you would be finishing something every couple of weeks.

    Superb shine! My favorite is 6:30. I do have an ultrasonic cleaner and if and when I do use it to get the polish out of the cracks I use a tiny bit of Dawn dish soap, 1/2 teaspoon maybe. I'm very impressed. I'm glad I stuck around to see the finale.

      Bro actually you might be a genius. Absolutely gorgeous rocks Ariel!! I have to say that as we tumble we each develop our own ideas and thresholds for rock aesthetics.
    Some ( as you have) spring for more tech and lovingly bring out the best in your lovelies.
    I loved every minute of watching you bring out the stunning designs in your botswanas!
    Me? Not going to buy an ultrasonic cleaner just yet.
    I've also held off on the Lot O tumbler though I sort of wish instead of buying so many more tumblers ( I have 6) I should have just sprung for the 300.00 and got it.
    We all know it is on the horizon. I have tumbled a few botswanas and have simply not been as impressed.
    Took too long, I lost too much in the grinding in terms of pattern and size.
    I love YOUR beauties but have resisted tumbling a complete batch myself because I lost a gorgeous one covered in eyes.

    • @queenbee9505
      @queenbee9505 Год назад +1

      Actually, lost is NOT the right word since I still have it. It is a lot smaller..most of the eyes were ground away. I seem to even lost more size and eyes in the polish!
      What are your favorite rocks to tumble?
      Mine are NOT Botswanas. Too much time/work and I think I actually GRIEVED my results.
      I also got mine from the rockshed.
      Notice I asked what are your favorites to TUMBLE?
      That is because my two or 3 most favorite rocks are faced and polished Turkish agates, Crazy Lace agates and agatized coral. But I need a flat lap to polish the sliced surfaces. I also love horn coral , Petoskey stones and puddingstones.
      My favorites to tumble bar NONE are Mexican Crazy lace agates and petrified wood..Madagascar petrified wood to be specific.
      I get lost in the details!!🤣🤣🤣

    • @AgateAriel
      @AgateAriel  Год назад

      Thanks so much for you comment! Yes the botswanas took so long and I am glad that for most I did not lose too much size or banding/eyes! I have yet to try crazy lace agate but definitely is on the list and many have said the same! My favorite to tumble is chert, jasper, and some Lake Superior agates! I do like to keep a lot of my Lake Superior agates raw though-they are just so beautiful!
