    How come we have telescopes that can see galaxies light years away, but we can't magnify enough to see a flag on the moon that is only 100,000's of miles away?

      Because galaxies, although way further away they, are also extremely big (it takes light more then 100 years to travel from one side of the galaxy to the other).. and in Comparison to that the flag is extremely tiny. Also the galaxies emit a lot of light because of all the stars in them, the flag does not. But the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) actually gave us pictures of the flag while it was orbiting the moon.

    • @rockethead7
      @rockethead7 4 года назад +8

      @@richardbrewin4165
      YOU SAID: "How about another trip to the moon ?"
      == Well, in 2019, congress finally allocated some money to start putting together moon missions again. So, yes, they're working on it. After 1972, congress didn't allocate a single dime for manned moon missions.
      YOU SAID: "With all the technology over the last 50 years there should be a drive thru Mc Donald's on the moon ."
      == Do you ACTUALLY believe that? Do you understand anything about thermodynamics? (Obviously not.) Traveling to the moon will never be achievable to common people, never. Why not? Because, no matter what you do, no matter how small or large you can make the craft, or how cheaply, it still takes a certain amount of energy to get to and from the moon. Even if you could reduce all other costs to zero, free rockets, free labor, free launch facilities, free landers, etc., even if all of that stuff costed nothing... sorry, but you'd still have to buy a couple of million pounds of rocket fuel and oxidizer per person. That stuff isn't cheap, you know. The common person will never be able to afford just the fuel and oxidizer, even if all other costs were reduced to zero (which is impossible anyway).
      YOU SAID: "Because the government said we were there doesn't mean anything, they lie about a lot of things."
      == Correct. But, nobody I've ever talked to about Apollo believes it because the government ever said anything. It's about understanding the history, the sciences involved, and the evidence. Nobody cares what governments say.
      YOU SAID: "At the time of the space program who in government thought we would have more technology in a cell phone than what was used to supposedly send us to the moon."
      == Pfffttt. First of all, Moore's Law was created in 1965. So, yes, it was firmly predicted about what today's computerized technology would be. Secondly, why do you think everything moves at the pace of computer technology? Actually, rapid computer technology advancements are the exception to the rule, not the rule. There really isn't any other type of technology that advances that quickly. Rocket technology hasn't advanced that quickly. Life support technology hasn't advanced that quickly. Radio communications technology hasn't advanced that quickly. Radar hasn't advanced that quickly. Medical technology hasn't advanced that quickly. Radiation shielding technology hasn't advanced that quickly. You can always recognize someone's massive ignorance when they refer to computer or smartphone (which is just a computer) technology as if everything is supposed to advance at the same pace. Sorry, it doesn't. Advancement, sure. Advancement at the pace of Moore's Law, sorry, no.
      YOU SAID: "Again we can use a telescope to see stars light years away . Zoom in and show the flags"
      == Good grief. Distance isn't the problem. Angular size is the problem. Go Google "optical resolution" and read the Wiki page. Not that I'd encourage anybody to use Wiki in place of an actual education... but in your case... you need something to snap the stupid out of the stuff you're saying. See, the thing is, you can calculate the size lens you'd need in order to see flags on the lunar surface. The Wiki article gives you the formula. I haven't done the math for a flag, but I've done it for the landers. And, in order to see the lunar landers from Earth in enough detail to recognize them, you'd need a lens a quarter mile across. A flag?? As seen from above?? You're talking about an object just an inch or two thick, as seen from above. I'm not doing the math again for your sake, but, you're easily talking about a lens many miles in diameter. And, guess what, even if you had a lens that big (good luck with that), sorry, but you still couldn't see the flags, because of the Earth's atmospheric distortion. So, again, there are multiple reasons that you're asking for the impossible.
      Go back to school and learn something before you fling your ignorance around, as if it's some sort of evidence against Apollo... that not a single physicist on Earth has ever realized... oh, but, you did, right? No physicist has ever thought of just looking through a telescope, right? Oh, but you have. Yeah, the entire planet's physicists are all dumb, and you're the smart one. Good grief.

      @Jan_Strzelecki 2 года назад

      @Daan Daan _i calculated the amount of energy in different types of propulsion fluids and i took the weight of the descending module._
      Did you remember to take Moon's gravity into an account?
      _There is so much power neededso that if this was real the engine had blown a krater in the moondust._
      Would it had blown a crater in a moonrock?
      _It's just impossible. Even with today's technology._
      If you find that your admittedly-uninformed personal opinion disagrees with expert consensus on a technical topic, please consider that "All the experts know something I don't" is a more likely explanation than "I alone solved a complex problems expert have long been studying."
      _the tinfoil that was used for the moonlander_
      You mean the thermal blanket?
      _would never be able to hold the force of a pressurized cabin in a vacuum._
      Nobody claims that it did.
      _The astronauts are inconsistent in their explanations_
      No they're not. You just don't seem to understand how the _Apollo_ Lunar Module was actually constructed.
      _and when people ask how it exactly worked it was suddenly classified._
      No it's not. The information you are referring to is still publicly available.

    • @Jan_Strzelecki
      @Jan_Strzelecki 2 года назад

      @Daan Daan _Now you would have needed a sixth of that._
      You're not landing an _"Apollo_ rocket" on the Moon. You're landing an _Apollo_ Lunar Module on the Moon. It doesn't weight 1/6th of the _Saturn_ V (that's how it's called) rocket weight. It weights *1/185th* of the _Saturn_ V weight.
      _No I mean the tinfoil_
      Again, there was no tinfoil included in the design of the _Apollo_ Lunar Module. This is true even if the Moon landings are fake.
      _that was ment as structural part of the thermal blanket._
      The thermal blanket wasn't meant to be a structural part of the _Apollo_ Lunar Module, and wasn't meant to be pressurized. This is true even if the Moon landings are fake.
      _The lander was not on a moonrock,_
      Yes it was. A moon rock covered with a thin layer of dust. This is true even if that "moon rock" was fake.
      _Strange enough the feet stayed clean on top._
      "Strange" how? In the absence of an atmosphere, there wouldn't be any dust cloud, so there wouldn't be any dust to settle on the top of the landing pads (that's how they're called). In that regard, even if the Moon landings are fake, I'd have to commend NASA for getting this detail _right._
      _etc. etc. Do the math yourself._
      I did. You're clearly wrong, _objectively so,_ even if the Moon landings _are_ fake.
      _if you want to believe it_
      It's not a matter of belief. It's a matter of understanding the science.

      While I have concluded and agree that the flag waving shown in this video are explained by the astronauts holding the flag pole I have here are at least 2 other tapes from various missions showing what appears to be the flag waving without direct contact from the astronauts. (1) ruclips.net/video/HP2IIb1S-xQ/видео.html shows flag movement without astronauts present. Very interesting. (2) ruclips.net/video/ymwE1sNm82Y/видео.html shows flag movement starting from a still position after an astronaut runs by without touching flag. In this sequence I as a scientist can give at least 3 explanations : (A) Static from the astronaut running by. This could be tougher in a vacuum . ( B ) Ground vibration movement transferred to flag as the astronaut runs by. ( C) Movement and displacement of air as the astronaut runs by. Of course here it means a studio on earth if it is true. • @TexMex421
      @TexMex421 2 года назад +3

      @@kevinskinner4986 Mostly correct. Most objects in space are partially exposed to the sun, and partially exposed to the blackness of space. A satellite for example. They gain heat from the sun, but radiate heat away at every angle. And those will normally become very cold overall. An object close to the Earth or moon will of course gain some heat from that celestial body. In either case it's a balance.
      An object can change it's average temperature based on it's color. Bright white like a spacesuit reflects away most of the sunlight's heat before it becomes absorbed. Black for max heat, silver/grey (like the cameras) for a balance. Turn the object frequently to make the temperature average out...
      Moon hoax people, I like to call them hoax folks, take the NASA derived max recorded temperature for the moon, and claim that is the temperature everywhere at all times on the sunny side. Which is of course silly. The max temperature is at noon at the equator, and even then is just a surface temperature.
