The Rainbow Parade / Pride Parade (German Regenbogenparade) took place in Vienna on Saturday, June 08,2024 to set an example for the rights of LGBTIQ people. It started with pleasant early summer temperatures and blue skies. The Viennese once again gave a loud, colourful, diverse and joyful signal for more acceptance, respect and equality. It was fun, see you again next year!

After watching this RUclips video about a lgbt parade, several critical observations stood out to me. First, the video showed how the parade caused major disruptions by blocking off central city streets, clearly inconveniencing residents and tourists alike. Many seemed uncomfortable with the loud music and large crowds, highlighting how such events can disrupt daily life. Secondly, the footage featured numerous provocative outfits and behaviors that might be inappropriate for casual passersby, especially families with children. This raises ethical concerns about holding such events in public spaces where people of all ages and beliefs are exposed to them.

In short, it seems these parades would be better held in private. I vividly remember the moment when I once accidentally stumbled upon such an event with my children. We saw dozens of men and women engaging in what appeared to be indecent acts, dancing provocatively. It took me a long time to explain to my kids that we had walked past people whom I described as psychologically disturbed, suggesting that no one could help them except death.

Unfortunately the city Magistrate is aware of the concerns you just mentioned. They try to plan everything early. Talking about dressing, well its Vienna. Its not justified but it is what it is unfortunately
