Love Joe Pye had a hard time finding the seeds and starting them originally… but now two years in I’m flush and have plenty to give away❤ I use a container and just sprinkle the seeds on the surface… I heard the need light to germinate along with cold stratification… water and tuck it in a corner outside and in the spring plenty of seedlings 😊 enjoying the channel grew up in Manistee county and in N Carolina now, zone 7…

Joe Pye Weed is absolutely one of my top 5 native plant favorites! You just can't beat those blooms! Manistee is sooo beautiful, we're not too far away at all. I hope you guys are doing well in North Carolina, sending love from the north!

will the seeds germinate if you don't remove the papas?

No that doesn’t have an impact on the seeds, the primary reason I remove it is just to remove additional organic matter while storing my seeds. The less excess material in there, the lower the risk of mold growth in my stored seeds
