@@Edwardcruzz13 backing does not matter you will never get down to it . For some reason American reels hold a unusable amount of line that gets wasted in the end Japanese reels hold over half as much so you don’t waste anything so it doesn’t matter the backing will just fill up half the spool so after you add the braid it will be full . Use whatever you got lying around or if the reel has line on it already pull half off then attach braid.

Yes you can but that is a high gear reel so you got to extra extra slow with it
