My story is very similar to his. I graduated high school with a 1.9 GPA back in 2014. Joined the Navy in 2015 and enrolled into UMGCs BS Business Administration program in 2020. I started the program with 25 credits thanks to my military trainings and schools. I completed 6 classes through UMGC in 2020, but 2021 was when I learned about Sophia where went on to complete 13 classes in just 2 weeks. It was crazy to me that in just 2 weeks I went from having 41 credits to 80 credits. After that I knocked out my remaining courses for the school finishing in 2022 graduating with a 3.9 GPA. I went on to start an MS IT Management from WGU in the fall of 2022 finishing that entire degree in just 5 months at the beginning of this year and winning an Excellence Award for my final capstone class! The sky is now the limit for me. My contract is ending for me next year and once I’m out my salary will increase by at least 20% thanks to my education and work experience. The even crazier part about my situation now is that I haven’t even touched my GI Bill benefits yet. Now I’m considering getting a second masters in Data Analytics from WGU and pursuing a Doctoral Program in Information Systems from Liberty University, Dakota State University, or National University. My only regret now is that I did not start college hacking sooner. I could have been more than half way through a doctoral program if I had this knowledge back in 2018/2019.
How long do you think I could get two years worth of college done using Sophia credits, cleps, etc. with UMGC? Trying to qualify for certain active duty to ROTC programs.
Hey sorry I know this is old. I just left the military and just started the PACE course for UMGC. I’m just signed up for an undergraduate associates program. But I want to change it to a bachelors, or a masters if I have the time with the GI Bill. I was an FCA so I did a lot of Linux and network troubleshooting, but I want to start a tech startup. Do you have any advice on what major to go for? I want to learn business and technology at the same time. lol. And I’m not sure if I should just get my associates for not and then move onto WGU after? Is that what you did after your bachelors?
UMGC's CS in Maryland is great! I have always been pleased by their quick responses and great information. It is also one of the MOST FRIENDLY for military transfer from your JST. I have applied to numorous schools and have always received the most transfer credits from UMGC compared to the others. In my 13 years in so far, I always recommend UMGC. I have not heard anyone tell me I have steered them in the wrong direction.... yet!
oh wow! I live next door to you in El Sereno. I'm a real estate appraiser and RE agent. See you around the Costco, Phillip. Congratulations! -William Ward, NARES
Please review Ashworth College, Penn Foster College, California Coast University, Martinsburg College, U.S. Career Institute, and Washington Technical Institute. Thanks. Also, what do you think of Columbia Southern University?
Yes! Penn Foster College is excellent. I'm a current student. Easy affordable payment plans, self paced course work, overall a good school. They accept transfer credits as well.

@@1999JerodHi, I think you should go for a degree in Information Systems or IT Management. Both degrees are a mix of business and technology.
USC has always been a DREAM school of mine.. makes me happy to know they accept non conventional schooling
