- We have finally made it to the final movie in the Phantasm franchise that we are watching! I know there is a Part 5 but we don't acknowledge her. So, let's see what Reggie, Mike, and the Tall Man have instore for us!

I'm glad someone else is doing reactions to these movies. Of all the boogeyman like Freddy, Jason and michael myers the Tallman is the only one who doesn't lose, to many horror fans sleep on this series.

That's probably the thing I like most about the Tall Man. The fact that he knows he cannot be defeated so he does not take any of their threats or attempts to kill him seriously lol

I love that the director Don Coscarelli incorporated these unused scenes from the first movie to cover plot in the fourth Phantasm movie.

And I definitely went back to the first movie to make sure I didn't miss something 😂 I loved that they added that unused footage. It was a great way to tie the movies together
I completely cosign your assessment of the series as a whole, though to differ I was sold on Phantasm out the gate, if not as a franchise (I was completely surprised that part 2 was even made) but I immediately knew it would be a lasting classic title in American independent horror. I saw Phantasm first run at the age of 12 on a drive in double bill with The Amityville Horror and it's hard to describe the impression it made on me- I enjoyed Amityville but Phantasm just blew it away imo. Part 4 was a respectable note to go out on.

These movies were always hard to follow and so damn wild. Another fun react, tho. Although, I don't think the 5th one was any worse than the rest of these, lol.

I always loved parts 1, 2, and 3 but I think part 4 and 5 are trash. IMO
So Sista Gurl, there have been 3 films that have terrified me, altered my consciousness & left me emotionally in shrivels because they dealt with the 1 theme that scares me to death: funeral homes, morticians and hearses!!!!!!! After watching this with you again I can see how comical it was but when I first saw the original as a child in 1980 I was in mortal fear!!!!!!! There are 2 other films that I highly recommend that are more scary and less comical, the first is Burnt Offerings with Oliver Reed , Karen Black & Bette Davis & Anthony James, that one is terrifying, the other is The Hearse, which is another very creepy, eerie, scary not comical hokey horror film!!! Actually The Dunsmuir Mansion which was the Morningside funeral home in Phantasm is the home in Burnt Offerings, I think you'll absolutely love those 2 films, check them out!!!
