I think compression ratio is extremely high in diesel engine as compare to compression ratio in petrol engine. Due to this high compression in diesel engine, torque is always high in diesel engine.

This is not a fair test. I own F30 320d LCI. Something to remember for next time : 1.) Put transmission into Sport. When in sport / sport+ just shift the gear to manual position and it will go to Sport and indicate by saying S1 instead of D. This will result in more aggressive shifts and touch higher RPM in each gear 2.) Don’t use paddle shifters when in sport transmission mode 3.) Use kick down ( acceleration will click like a button when you push it beyond full ) If you are not professional driver don’t use sport+ it’ll drift or lose control more quickly due to limited driving stabilization. Safety first! 5 series is heavier than 3 in terms of body weight so it’s not fair in that sense as well 😅
Bhai, Diesel has more torque because all diesel engines have higher compression ratio than their petrol counterparts. But now almost all turbo petrol (tgdi) has higher compression ratio but not as high as diesel.
